I would not think twice about what service provider to use if I move again-- U-Pack is the way to go. CHOOSING U-PACK OR A COMPETITOR: In comparison to their competitors (U-Haul, Pod, etc.) their price is similar. I found U-Pack to be about $100 more than U-Haul, but you get what you pay for. However, you receive a heavy duty metal box from U-Pack that protects your belongings from weather. U-Haul's service is a somewhat flimsy looking plywood box with a tarp cover over it. I might consider them for a very short move (across town) given that no precipitation is forecasted. BUT, weather doesn't have to be a concern with U-Pack because their box is reliable. PACKING THE BOX: As long as you strategically pack your shipping box, all of your belongings should arrive as expected. We personally packed our box both moves and experienced no damage to our items except for a flimsy laundry rack that we haphazardly threw into the unit. Please note that you do need to provide a lock for your unit. COMMUNICATION WITH COMPANY: The communication with their local branches was efficient, quick, and easy. My shipping box was delivered, departed, and arrived at the scheduled times by humans that were pleasant to interact with. In short, I would use U-Pack again in a heartbeat.

They made clear efforts to be polite and respectful - little things like making sure we went through doors first when talking to them. We had a bit of a complicated move, they made sure they understood our goals and executed them better than we could have. I appreciated that they would good through each room with us before and after items were moved to confirm they were doing what we wanted. They saved us money by efficiently stacking everything both in the truck and in our storage units. We thought for sure we wouldn't be able to fit everything - but there was room to spare when tetris master Brittan was done with it. This was a far more positive experience than I'd have ever guessed. I'm pretty die hard with DIY approach to everything but this was money well spent.

After they left, my husband started going through the truck and saw that they had just placed things in the truck haphazardly and didn't stack from the bottom to the top so that there would be more room for other items. We realize that if my husband didn't intervene, half of our things were going to have to be left behind . My husband had to unload and load both the Pod and the truck, again, by himself. We were supposed to be on the road by noon. We got on the road at 9:30 that night. We ended up driving all night AND we arrived too late to move our things into the new home that has a strict HOA policy of moving only between the hours of 9 and 6 PM. So we couldn't move any of our things in until the next day. The folks that were supposed to help us move in that day weren't available the next day. This was a nightmare. These guys were terrible.

They did arrive promptly but broke a good amount of my things…read more They broke my TV stand by picking it up incorrectly, causing the bottom with the drawers to fall off since it had an uneven weight distribution. They also ended up breaking both of my display cases by taking them apart improperly, which caused the doors to become completely useless and unusable. The warranty process from reading it looks very bare minimum and doesn't appear to be able to cover the damage of my things, which is over $500 now. The people there reached out to me fairly quickly regarding the damage though, which I appreciated. I will update as the process continues.

Inept team was getting conflicting direction from the office and continued confusion throughout the load. It took 45 minutes for one of them to wrap a TV... then he gave a second TV to us and said he couldn't wrap it and we would have to carry it in the car. Upcharged us for boxes and blankets we didn't order or use. My furniture was damaged and badly scratched and gouged... decor was broken and containers were crushed. They were dishonest about the cost and my final bill for a job quoted at the $350-$600 range was almost triple that cost. I called and complained and the manager said that he would get back to me.... cricket. DON'T HIRE THEM.
