This place deserves 10 stars! I bought a car from AZ and tried to go to the DMV to register it. I saw the line and I said NOPE! So I came here instead and there was no line at all, they did the inspection and smog right there and then and done!!! Now just 2 days later I have my new plates and tags!!! I called in the morning to make an appt for a VIN verification. The lady on the phone said I could just walk in. I said great. Told her about my vehicle. It's a 64 classic from out of state. She said no problem. Left work early to go home to get it and drove it to Amar Registration Service. I was greeted by a lady at the front counter. Told her i was there for a vin verification. Another lady came out and asked for the title and I handed it to her. She took about 7 minutes behind the desk inspecting the title. She then said let's go look at the vehicle. Once we step outside, I start pointing out the vin plate and the vin located on the frame. She hands me the title and says, sorry, we cannot do a vin verification because the DMV doesn't allow us to verify a 1964. Huh? Are you kidding me? I've had several vin verifications all from the 40s, 50s, 60s, no problem. I asked repeatedly why but she kept saying the DMV restricts us from verifying vehicles from 1964. I said fieif you cannot verify a '64 and the title shows 1964, why wouldn't you just hand it back immediately? Why spend time behind the desk reviewing it and then coming out for 2 seconds. There's no logic in that. She stayed silent which told me she was being dishonest. What could I do at that point? Went back home empty handed and a total waste of 2 hours. Called the DMV on the way back and explained to them what happened. Provided them with details from the title and they said there is no reason why they could not have completed it. This is my second time here both times staff was friendly and knowledgeable, beats going to the dmv, u are gonna spend more but it's totally worth it. If they can't assist you they will take the tine to explain everything to you. I have registered 3 cars with them and had no issues besides one car, due to it needing stuff only the dmv can provide.
