They tend to sell out quite fast but they do make couple batches a day. So no worries. Unfortunately, I sometimes wish they can open later. This place has a ton of traffic right beside the Starbucks on the corner of 39th and Cambie. I see they have caught up with the times and now take debit. Usually my boss comes in here to pick up two box of treats for our office, and they are pretty consistent, and good. I do like the curry beef puff pastry they have here, I haven't run into their apple turnover, which I liked so much in their Burnaby location. In terms of Chinese bakeries, Anna's rates way up there as one of the best, not just for the individual servings, but also for their cakes made to order. Whether it is a birthday, or any other festive event, they have it covered, some popular favorites are chestnut (not my favorite, due to the paste), fruit toppings, and chocolate to name a few. Just remember that Anna's, because they also know they are rated high up there come with a price tag. They are not cheap, and you can go in here and spend a good chunk of change. They have sales of items after a certain time, I think 5, or it could be 6. With this place you know the cakes aren't too sweet, just right for my palate, and they have always been dependable for that. Usually they are open everyday too, even on Christmas, they just don't open too late.

Hoping it's just that they were temporarily out of stock or something and that they havn't stopped making those lovely desserts altogether. Those desserts were showstoppers. For the Too Good to Go package I was given a bag that had a savory croissant sandwich in it and a box that had two large sized pieces of some kind of flaky pastry with cheese in it. The croissant had cheese on top and some kind of deli meat in the middle. I don't eat meat so I warmed this up for my husband and daughter to share. The flaky pastry with cheese I saved and warmed up for breakfast with my daughter the next day. A bit of Google searching has told that those flaky pastries are Cheese Pitas. It's a mix of feta and cottage cheese inside. Always a gamble with Too Good to Go. I probably wouldn't have ever thought to order these foods if I'd walked into the shop and ordered regular price. I see that as a plus though, not a minus. I kinda like trying things I wouldn't normally think to try. The pastry on both the croissant and cheese pita were both very flaky. I still prefer the sweets here over the savory items but the savory items are pretty good too. If you like flaky pastries, this is a pretty good place for that!

They gave a disclaimer to wait "20 minutes" before eating because it was still frozen. Brought them home and attempted to consume maybe an hour later. It was strangely still cold and slightly frozen. I expected more fruit or more actual cake taste. Perhaps these were to be sorbet/gelato cakes as it was strange to eat these so cold. Cakes themselves were well presented. However the experience was quite confusing as I didn't actually know what I was to expect when consuming. Will need to return to have it there next time so I can rate properly.

It was delicate, elegant, and genuinely delicious--the flavours were well balanced, and you could tell there was a lot of care put into making it. I definitely wasn't disappointed. That said, it is on the expensive side, so I did find myself expecting a little more flexibility with the service. In particular, I was surprised that they couldn't accommodate a simple name plate on the cake. For a cake at this price point, it seems like a fairly reasonable request, especially when other bakeries offer this on less expensive cakes. The pickup process itself was fine, but keep in mind that pre-orders need to be placed quite a few days in advance, so this isn't really a last-minute cake option. One other practical note: if you're ordering during the summer, make sure you get it into the fridge as soon as possible after pickup. The tiramisu is quite delicate and doesn't hold up well sitting out in the heat. Overall, a beautiful and delicious cake that I would happily have again, although the price and some of the ordering limitations are worth keeping in mind.

I came for the London fog donut but found that the frosting was too sweet for my liking, however, if that's your thing go for it. The drinks were good too! I enjoyed the vanilla frappe and tropical smoothie the most. The matcha, strawberry banana smoothie, and mixed berry smoothie weren't that bad either. This location was a bit smaller in my opinion, which is good for a grab and go. It's quite busy though so it shows how popular this franchise is. Overall, Breka is a safe pick for pastries and drinks at a reasonable price.

Decisions, decisions, decisions…read more I've been coming here more often than I really need to but not really because I want to. It's more a need to. The seniors like it. Especially the Old Bean, and it's proximal. Why does he like it so much? Breakfast. Scratching your head? I'm not, because I live in his reality. This is a bakery for cakes, pasties, and other HK style sweet snacks. Even the so-called savory items in here are slightly sweet, the wiener buns are an example. As the Old Bean is wont to do, this is what he consumes for breakfast. Pastries and cake, not congee. Although he'll go out for congee, but at home, it's cake. Chestnut cake, at 9:30AM, along with robusta bean pre ground coffee, aka MJB, out of a jumbo-sized tin or plastic tub, from a percolator, after a rolling boil of 20 minutes. Basically, a combination of bitter melon and sulfuric acid is the end product, generously seasoned with 6 heaping teaspoons of sugar, and a bit of milk is the way he likes it. This is not hyperbole. It's a gruesome brew in the morning, enough to kill the appetite and palate of a starving alligator or any reptillian in the Florida everglades. So this is why I'm here. It's my living certainty. I do eat stuff from here every now and then but not on any regular basis. I order B-Day cakes from here for occasions also. It's what the seniors are accustomed to. Helpful staff. Paid street parking in front and a couple of free spaces in the back. Grab and go place. Minimal interior seating. Cash or debit only.

It looks like they also have cheap coffee and tea, but cheap in quality, not just price. Cash only. There are some tables inside or some picnic tables on the nearby closed street. The place looks a little dated and dim. I got a vegetarian steamed bun and a fruit cocktail cake. The steamed bun, kept nice and warm, was soft and the veggies inside were savoury and crunchy. I'd recommend this. It was my first time trying a Chinese fruit cocktail cake - I always would see them at Chinese bakeries and be tempted - so I have no basis for comparison on other fruit cocktail cakes, but I enjoyed the flavour. The cake was light with lots of fruit in the filling. It seemed a bit sweeter than the Asian cakes I'm used to. The sweeter cake and frosting in combination with the fruit cocktail, which is itself sweetened, made this a sweeter dessert than I would've liked. I'd be open to trying them again if it was in my neighbourhood, but it wouldn't be my first choice for Chinese desserts just based off this one cake.

My aunt said it was from Flourist so we made plans to hit up bakery and try more of their delicious items. The bakery itself is BUMPIN! We went Sunday around 11 and it's clearly a fan fave of the neighborhood. Seats outside were taken and inside was just as busy. The interior is beautiful, with different shades of beige, I love their little grocery corner where you can buy you're own sourdough starter, Pizza dough, wine or books all about bread. The line up went quick and we got the veggie sando, a potato galette and of course the olive loaf to go. For drinks we got a cardamon laté and hibiscus lemonade. Everything was delicious - the sando had fresh mozza, eggplant, tomato and spinach on fresh focaccia. The potato galette was savoury and oniony and we took the olive loaf home and devoured it in 24 hours. This is the freshest baked loaf I've had in Vancouver. I was so tempted to also get a cinnamon bun because damn the icing was so thick and the bun looked so soft but I decided that was for another time. It isn't cheap though so keep that in mind! Our two drinks, loaf, sando and potato galette came to $60 total. Is it a delicious product? YES. You will not be disappointed! Can't wait to go back to try that Cinnabon!!!
