Amada is absolutely wonderful! They have provided help for our family for over 5 years - for both my Dad and my Mom. Owner/Managers, Fred and Janice Ehlers, and Jonathan Burroughs are wonderful to work with, and their caregivers are well-trained, nurturing and compassionate. Management is proactive in seeking feedback about their performance - calling to check how things are going and rapidly addressing any issues that might arise. When my father came home from a skilled nursing facility, he needed home care and had a long-term care insurance policy. Fred helped us understand and navigate the complicated insurance process. This was a Godsend. (This contrasted greatly with another senior care company that told us we were on our own wrt insurance filing- and couldn't even tell us if my Dad's required care would qualify. We'd see after filing a claim...). Fred and Jonathan visited my parents many times and brought flowers to my Dad when he was in the hospital. We think of them, and many of their caretakers as family. I have worked in Amada as a Client Care Manager side by side with Fred and Janice when they just started their franchise . It was challenging being from Auto Sales background Fred was having hard time running the business smoothly . I was doing part time freelancing for them for skilled assessments necessary for getting billing going through the insurance company . That's when they recruited me for full time working at the office managing schedules, phone calls with clients , families , and caregivers. Helping Janice with orientation for new hires and establishing and maintaining care for our clients.Corporate office was very pleased to know that they found full time person to help them with office activities and being from medical background I have shortly became a good resource person for caregivers, clients, families and Fred and Janice of course . Janice even called me lucky charm as the business took off into good direction . So we were happy and enjoying the fact that we could provide best care for our clients. I was a person wearing many hats as Fred pointed out on several occasions. As we got more and more clients in it became more challenging to have all shifts covered especially with live-in caregivers. I was on the phone 24/7 after office hours as I was issuing my personal phone and caregivers were in contact with me all the time even on the weekends . But I was very proud of the fact that I had schedule running smoothly . However Janice never seemed to be happy with what was done and on numerous occasions made me redo big parts of the schedules for no apparent reason usually at the end of the day when I already have made numerous phone calls and arrangements for everything to run smoothly . It has become progressively stressful working under such pressure and we had to part our ways. With that said other then that I enjoyed working with Fred and Janice . Coming from an employee at Amada Senior Care: Amada in Spanish means beloved, or loved. This company not only shows love to their clients, but also to their caregivers. While working I got hurt. Jonathan and Miriam were my support system and made sure I was OK and taken care off. Janice and Fred are great people. They are easy going and are always there to listen to what you have to say. If you have any problem they will make sure it gets looked into and fixed. Imani is a great help and she does the best she can to get all your questions answered or finds someone who can answer them for you. The staff works very closely together. I went in for my interview and Janice was ready to hire me right away. I did not have my HHA license or my Live Scan finger prints done. They guided me and I got both done. The Live Scan costed $75 and I didn't have the money right then and there so they had $25 pulled from my first three paycheck to help me cover that cost. Scheduling can be tough at times and not all hours are guaranteed for the month because some of the clients that come in don't need help for a long time. As long as you talk to Miriam she can find you hours, but you have to be flexible. I have enjoyed the variety of clients I have been able to work with. All of the knowledge and experiences I have received while working for Amada Senior Care will follow me throughout my career. read more

I would just like to provide my family's experience working with Amada this past year. I first met Fred when my mother was diagnosed with a very challenging disease. He was professional, empathetic, and approached us working together to take care of my Mom as true partners. The quality of the care was excellent. We had significance needs for care and Fred was there 100% of the time to work with our family to meet our needs. My 94 year old Grandmother had a fall and needed 24/7 care. I was reluctant to hire help because I didn't think anyone would care for her the way I did and she was very concerned about having strangers in her home. When her care became more than I could handle on my own, I knew we needed help. After an exhaustive search, someone recommended Amada to me and they turned out to be the biggest blessing. The care givers went OVER and BEYOND and she became very fond of each and every one of them. They communicated any information that I needed and gave me daily and nightly reports. One of the care givers, Brooke, even made her her favorite Chocolate cream pie and brought in a DVD player so that they could watch old movies together. Susan & Lucy were always so sweet and caring. Every one of the care givers brought special talents to the table to make her time with them enjoyable. I was very impressed that the owner of the company also checked in several times with me to see how everything was going.
