A Spectacular Journey Through Washington, D.C…read more The views throughout Washington, D.C. are nothing short of breathtaking. I started by taking in the skyline from a rooftop, which set the tone for what would become a truly unforgettable tour. The vantage point from the Marine Corps Memorial was powerful and inspiring, with Arlington Cemetery stretching solemnly behind it, reminding me of the deep history and sacrifice embedded in this city. Standing at the Lincoln Memorial, I was able to see the iconic sweep of the National Mall, the Washington Monument rising proudly in the distance. Walking down toward it, every step felt like strolling through the center of American history. Cutting across to the Jefferson Memorial, I was greeted by a beautiful structure perfectly reflected in the surrounding waters--absolutely outstanding. From there, I could look back across the Mall and glimpse the White House anchored in the heart of the capital. That view alone was gorgeous. Approaching the Washington Monument up close was awe-inspiring, its height dominating the city's horizon. The next day, I continued this incredible journey by seeing the White House from all sides--the north, the west, and the south--each angle offering a different look at one of the most recognizable buildings in the world. Finally, strolling down the streets lined with federal institutions--from the Department of Labor, to the IRS, to the Securities and Exchange Commission--really showcased the power and importance of the nation's government at work. And as a perfect finale, I arrived at the magnificent Capitol Building on Capitol Hill, standing proudly above it all. From start to finish, the views around Washington, D.C. are stunning, historical, and moving--a visual reminder of the incredible story of America.

This is the perfect place to bring new visitors to this area to see all the major landmarks all at once. Ofcr. Despite the city atmosphere, parking is pretty decent and the Rosslyn Metro is right across the street.

I loved this spot!…read more Music: there was a live DJ playing literally everything to give you good vibes while you eat. Food: all you can eat and serve yourself. It tasted bomb! The food tasted like someone's mom was in the back cooking it up lol. You can tell they make everything hot and fresh. Everything was good except the French Toast in my opinion. The French toast tasted good but gets super soggy in the catering containers. The eggs were so creamy and cheesy and good! The wings are finger licking. The Mac & Cheese was good and not greasy (thank God)! They could add a few more things to the menu like waffles, pancakes, bacon Turkey and regular, etc... Service: The staff were nice and seem like a fun batch. They were attentive and brought out the Mimosas. I do wish they put a pitcher on each table instead of us having to wait for someone to refill it. They made sure there were enough clean plates and glasses on the table for everyone so we never had to ask when going up to get food. Ambiance: The good food and music already set the ambiance for me! However the place itself is two floors but not huge. The seating with no reservation is first come first serve. Deff make a reservation or come early. The restaurant was clean and chic looking. Overall I would come back here again in a heartbeat. I wish t

I tried calling before going, no answer. I tried ordering online, their website said the system was unavailable. We went and ordered take out and it look 40 minutes, when there were maybe 5 people inside. On top of that there was a 20% fee added for the takeout food which is crazy to me. (also it's a lounge so my man was patted down by security.. crazy just for some food) The only upside was that the prices were cheaper than they were at the H Street location. The Jerk Mac Box was $15 , as were the Jerk Nachos.

We did and I'm glad. The bar area was cozy but it was nice and we were able to find a place to sit while we waited for our reservation time. That place gets very busy since every one is doing the same thing -waiting for their performance. The view of the river and the planes coming in was phenomenal Al. The atmosphere was just adults all have a good time. I enjoyed the vibe. Our waiter was great, the hostess was great. No complaints at all. I had the jumbo crab cakes(see pic). They were very flavorful and did nit need the sauce. I had that Ali g with a Caesar salad which was large enough to share. Also, the crème brûlée with a coffee. My total came to about $108 before tip. Not complaining it was a great evening, great food and great company.

The REACH is a new campus right next to the main Kennedy Center building with the goal of…read moredemocratizing inspiration. It's a campus for all people breaking the barriers between the audience and art. The campus itself is three buildings above ground and a world of theaters, spaces, and classrooms underground. Every element on campus is named after something in JFK's life. For example, one of the classrooms for children is named Macaroni after Caroline Kennedy's pet horse. These rooms host local artists offering dance classes, performances, and more. The designer wants visitors to pay attention to what's there and what's not. To that end, there's lots of open space. Above ground is the largest green roof in the city with gardens and pathways. There's a cafe and at some point a full service restaurant. Everywhere you turn will inspire creativity and connection. It's a beautiful space truly for the people.

A meal with a VIEW!…read more I travel a lot for work, which means I get the pleasure of sharing meals with colleagues, friends, and sometimes people I've only just met. This past week brought me to Washington, DC for a banking conference, and somehow a work trip turned into one of those nights you know you're going to remember. We were invited to VUE Rooftop for sunset, cocktails, dinner, and a table full of new and old friends. First, THAT VIEW. You are so ridiculously close to the White House that I felt like if a staff member walked past a window naked, I'd be able to count their pores. Probably a little more government transparency than anyone asked for, but you get the idea. The view is incredible. There were nine of us around the table, watching the sun set over Washington while working our way through cocktails and some seriously good food. We shared burrata, crab cakes, steak tartare, and plenty more around the table. Everything was beautifully prepared and absolutely delivered. Is it a little pricey? Yep. But you're also paying for one heck of a front-row seat to Washington, DC. Thankfully, the food holds its own against the view, so it doesn't feel like you're paying premium prices just for the scenery. The night ended with lots of laughter, pictures on the indoor swing, and then there may or may not have been an adventure involving electric scooters through Washington, DC. We don't talk about that part. It's like Bruno. I have the bruises. That's all you need to know. So we'll stick to the important stuff: fantastic company, delicious food, great cocktails, an incredible sunset, and one unforgettable view. VUE Rooftop did not disappoint. Sometimes the best part of traveling for work is the part that doesn't feel like work at all

Stopped here for a night cap after a birthday dinner and the views are worth it! The venue overall…read moreis beautiful. Went to the bar for a drink and had to wave Leo down- Leo immediately suggested we move to another part of the restaurant. "There is space down there if you want to go over there". Very bizarre interaction. No smile, no personality, just made me feel unwanted and brushed off. We told him we planned to stay- and ordered drinks. I ordered a French 75 and Leo asked what "gin I would prefer" I told him he could use what the recipe called for and he pushed back again irritated saying I'd need to choose. I was a but taken by this so I asked what the "baseline gin was" he rolled his eyes and pointed to the liquor shelves suggesting I just pick. I had never experienced something like this or treatment like this. I again asked for just the baseline and he walked away. I'm sharing because Leo's behavior can be viewed as discrimination in a situation like this. He also could just treat every customer this way and in either case it's unfortunate for the business. On a more positive note! The stars are for Chris. Chris walked up and smiled "what can I get you?" I asked for a French 75 and he replied "Baseline ok?" I smiled and said yes and within minutes he had my drink prepared. Chris was warm, welcoming, and there to provide drinks and exemplary customer service. Night ended well overall and I still very much enjoyed the ambiance of this rooftop.
