Thank you for your interest in Lyon Park, a lovely place for your special event. Rental rates are based on the time you occupy the building, and very reasonable because we are a do-it-yourself venue (or you can hire our staff).… Read more

From day one Sandra made us feel at ease. She wanted to make us happy. She was helpful and understanding at every stage in the process. She responded swiftly to every question and was very flexible with all our choices. Clarendon ballroom provides tables, chairs, and linens and has their own onsite caterer. Everything was beautifully done. The food was to die for!! We had cocktail hour on the rooftop and had an amazing assortment of food. Anti pasta for the Italians lots of passed appetizers and our favorite Korean chicken served in Chinese food boxes!! Katia managed the event the night of and the service was impeccable. Our main courses were delicious and we are told from guests that had the filet mignon it could be cut with a butter knife. One of our guests runs a catering company out of state and stated this was the best food he ever had! A nice touch is they include a doorman to make sure the Clarendon bar hoppers don't wedding crash on your private event. I could go on and on! I highly recommend Clarendon Ballroom!! Do not hesitate to go with Clarendon Ballroom for all your wedding/big event reception needs!

Great wait staff, friendly bartenders and the food es muy bueno. Oh wait, I mean, the food is very good. Sorry, living in Columbia Pike as brought out the Spanish. Anyway, private venues - YES. Great place to book! I'd only suggest they do a better job of keeping the riff raff non private event goers out. Also, offer more seating. As for a regular Friday or Saturday night...errr, em, uh... it's okay. If you're looking for a popp'd collar yuppie than this is the place to go. And unlike the creepy old mans that hang out at places like K street or Park, the token old mans here are BEYOND creepy. They'll walk up to you and touch your face or proposition you like a hooker. Aside from creepy old dude, the average age for patrons here would be 23 and most of the hail from the suburbs because they're too broke to drive into DC. This, however, is just an observation. But CB gets an extra star for providing great entertainment. Watching said popp'd collar jagoffs get kicked out is pure comedy! The last time I went (which was this past Friday) they had a rock cover band which sucked. Cover was $10 which wasn't worth it, and the line for my bottle water took 10 minutes. They also have a room downstairs that had hip hop/mashups, etc but the room was so dark I was running into people. Again, no bueno. I guess it's a hit or miss experience. I'll most likely go again but only if sister wife drags me.

We were in…read moretown for a family reunion and hosted a dinner party at SMI one evening that was among the highlights of the family weekend. Manisha and Prashsant, owners of Stone Manor Inn, were personally involved in making sure all went smoothly with our cocktail and dinner party, and it most certainly did! SMI is a lovely old country inn on 14 acres, I believe, with a number of different venues (indoors and out) for meetings, parties, and weddings. The rooms (7 in total) were eclectic, in a good way. All four of their largest rooms that we occupied were spacious, with king beds and spa tubs with separate showers. All were well maintained and clean upon check-in. We had no complaints. I'm not sure when we will return to the area, but when we do, we will not hesitate to return!

Luxurious bed and breakfast, nice jacuzzi and dogs are welcomed! My hubby and I came here with our…read morepup for my birthday and the $300 room (additional $30 pet fee) didn't disappoint - well worth it! I was on the fence to book this place given its hefty price tag, and glad I went for it and completely agree with the glowing 5 star reviews. The bubbly host Manisha is very warm and welcoming. She cordially gave us a 20 min tour around the property, which was built in 1908, and even gave me a bonus tour of the other rooms afterwards. She kindly answered all of our questions and didn't rush us. The Peacecock Room is the most spacious and best room (aside from the bridal suite), elaborately decorated in peacocks. We loved it! The little touches like the handmade soap, a set of wine glasses, and a wine opener made the stay so memorable and special. While the rooms aren't temperature controlled, the electric flameless fireplace kept the room warm. The double capacity jacuzzi was perfect for my hubby and I and even had lights (some of the other rooms have smaller jacuzzi, so be sure to check). The rooms were clean minus a couple of lady bugs and stink bugs (which is too be expected out in the country). Dr. Fauci's assistant stayed here and Manisha informed us of the extensive sanitation process, even the pillows and decorations are quarantined for 6 days! The backyard is well groomed and really spacious with a nice patio and heat lamp, which kept us warm sitting outside in the frigid winter. Our dog loved running around! You can see the stars and constellations really well. It would make a great wedding venue! The Christmas decorations around the property are really nice. The owners really go the extra mile and put a lot of TLC into the property. The 6 course breakfast is delicious and bursting with flavor. Between the veggie quiche, cheesy potatoes, scone, pancakes, yogurt, and fresh OJ, I was stuffed! The fresh butterscotch scone was divine and devoured my mine and my hubby's! The cheesy potato had a nice spicy kick. Everything was so fresh and delicious. All the courses come out at once on a large tray. While my hubby and I chose to sit at the communal table (the chairs are roughly 6 feet apart), you can take the tray up to your room. Manisha and her family greeted us and thoroughly explained the dishes and chatted with us for a bit, even her son made an appearance! The bed and breakfast has a nice bar with wine, cider, and alcohol based on an honor code system. Water and soda is complementary, they even had Coke 0! The complementary fudgy brownies by the breakfast area during the day were sweet and tasty. Again the little complimentary stuff gives this bed and breakfast a nice resort feel. Very relaxing stay and looking forward to coming back!

We decided to eat at Wilson's Hardware, located in Arlington, VA, blocks away from the Clarendon metro station. What I ordered: Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Goat cheese, cilantro, lemon vinaigrette Grilled Salmon with saffron mashed potatoes, sauteed baby spinach, and garlic butter To drink - Screw Him - made with vodka (a fave), lychee (had them take this out because I am not sure if I am allergic), hibiscus (yay x2), lemon (yay), and champagne (my #1 fave and yay x3!) Back to the food - the Brussels were delicious. I'm thrilled for the mad scientist who made them less bitter than they were when I was a kid--the combination of cilantro's added freshness and the lemon's tartness with the goat cheese. Chef kiss! Then the entree, the grilled salmon with the saffron mashed potatoes (can't really fail with one of the most expensive spices in the world). So happy to finally get this place off my bucket list.

I'm giving this super-modest community center a whopping 5 STARS. If I could give it a 10, I…read morereally would! It's totally old-school and that's why I like it. I used to work in the fitness industry for well over 10 years. In my former career, I was as a personal trainer, group exercise instructor, and also part of the fitness management team. I've been to facilities all over the USA, including South America, Europe and the Caribbean. I have quite the insight about fitness equipment, brands, what motivates people, and so forth. My point is, this modest facility has everything one could possibly need, but without all the overly- pretentious- unecessary-fluff and without the weirdos. They offer plenty of cardio options. The ellipticals were modern, in perfect condition, smooth and well maintained. Treadmills were smooth. Recumbent bikes and spin bikes were available. As I was checking in on yelp, there was a Spin class in progress. Folks were respectful on the indoor track. Interactive sports was a whole vibe! There were several pick-up basketball games happening, like 2 or 3 going on. And folks were talking plenty of smack! I was low-key watching the basketball drama as I was walk-jogging around the indoor track. Totally entertaining and hilarious. It was awesome! 2 Pickleball games were happening as well as volleyball games. In another room there was also a bunch of tables, I think it was a ping-pong room...?? They also offer an indoor skate night. I have no idea what that means or when it happens, lol!! I just saw a bunch of signs for skate rental, and a bunch of racks which housed thick plastic covers for the floor, I guess to make it smooth for indoor skating?? They have a machine weights circuit, a free weight/squat and leg press room, another weight room with dumbbells and other free weight exercise machines. There was an area for group-ex classes, so lighter dumbbells, steps, stretch mats, bands, weighted bars. I used this area to use the hand-held weights, cool down and stretch. And plenty of space on the side of the indoor track to do your own thing. I saw folks practicing volleyball, pickleball, and just independent exercises. This "community center" truly has it all and seriously, competitively compares to other fitness facilities in the area. It may not be as sleek, posh, and modern as your overly-priced $80 - $200 per month facilities, and lacks towel service, steam room, sauna, and locker rooms. However, the equipment is the same! And you have an indoor track, which most gyms do not offer and plenty of social and interactive sports. I came on a Wednesday evening after work, and it was not overly crowded inside. Outside parking was a pinch tricky, but I was able to secure a spot. I enjoyed working out here. I would like to come here once or twice per month, to offset the monotony of my current X-Sport, recently bought out by LA Fitness gym membership that has a lot of run-down, broken equipment for months without repair. It reminds me of going to the campus gym in my college years. Very nostalgic! Anyways...highly recommend.

I'll say it definitely needs to be upgraded. Time is back in the day there, with outdated options for especially young folks. There is good parking here. Before you laugh, Arlington is known for this being a major challenge. For once you can pull in, without a meter or parallel parking! There's some okay basketball hoops here. Also little kids will enjoy the climbing and playground equipment. This is a family friendly place. My hope is they will update it in the near term.
