We had AM/PM come out to trim some trees away from the roof, which although a small job was urgent because our insurance demanded it. Some other companies I called won't even consider a job that's just pruning back some trees, but AM/PM was more than willing to come give a quote and then do the job. They were able to get us scheduled quickly even though they've been busy due to the massive storms that have been knocking trees down all across the Bay Area. WE hired AM/PM to remove two trees from our sloped front yard. One was fairly large and the other was on the smaller side. AM/PM showed up on time with all their equipment and had the trees down in no time. They cleaned up and hauled away all the debris and ground out the stumps. David and his crew came out to remove our 40-year old redwood. They made sure that my surrounding trees, roses and other plants were protected from the falling limbs. They even moved a large fountain and backyard accessories to keep them from being damaged. All debris, except the wood chips we wanted, was cleaned up and we had no damage to the landscape lighting or sprinklers. I had three other companies recommended and AM/PM was by far the best and fairest price. Brittany (the scheduler) is always pleasant to talk to and prompt in returning calls and scheduling. Overall happy with the services provided By David and his crew at AM/PM tree service. They are not arborists, but never pretend to be! They did a great job at clearing out our 40'+ tall Elm tree and removed deadwood dangerous of falling. David is good at listening to you and what you;d like to see out of the project, so be sure to communicate. When he quoted the job he threw in the chipping of a pile of branches we cleared a month or so before. It turned out to be harder than I thought it would be to pull that pile down the hill and I appreciated the quote remaining the same. We did have some work done on a black walnut tree on the side yard by the crew that wasn't completely thorough. There was still dead wood left on the tree and a few cut branches are still hanging up in the tree, but they were great at cleaning up and helped me out by cutting all the walnut branches into fire wood size pieces. Had I noticed the dead wood or hanging branches before they left I feel confident they would have taken care of it without hesitation. David was busy finishing the large job on our Elm tree and the walnut just got a little over looked. Still overall happy, I could tell they worked their butts off and didn't want to drag their day on and on with nit-picking! I would recommend them without hesitation for basic or routine tree care or removal. They are extremely friendly and care about customer satisfaction. I will need to call an arborist to address some other issues they found onsite with our trees, but appreciated their honesty about what their capabilities are and how I should proceed! A limb fell on our roof, and I called AM/PM to remove it. The person on the phone said they could call the workers off a job in Napa to take care of it, and help arrived in a timely manner. I was told the job would take half-a-day and was given an expensive price quote. When the workers arrived, they said the job cost more due to travel from Napa, to the east bay for equipment, and back again. This was NOT mentioned when given the expensive quote. The job took less than one hour, but we were still billed the original expensive price. The service wasn't bad, but customers should double-check estimates and billing. read more

David is (literally) a life saver! Our cat got out and ran straight up the neighbor's tree. He stayed up there for a day and eventually climbed to the very top - at least 45 feet up. No amount of coaxing would bring him down. With no hope left I called AM PM... David was way out near Napa - but he still came to help. In the dark! He climbed the tree and spent some time at the top simply calming our cat. Then he coaxed the cat into a pillowcase and climbed down. His patience and calmness really helped. Dave is awesome!! He's staff is fantastic! Everyone was very understanding! I realized that my cat was stuck more than 50 feet in a tree behind my apartment after 8pm. Dave and his assistant came out, climb out on a limb with only part of his appropriate gear, no spurs, no long ropes, no lights and rescued my cat who continued to move out further and further. While the price was expensive, it was more affordable than other companies. We had three trees that needed to be trimmed and shaped, and while they were definitely trimmed, they look gutted and sparse, with no concept of shaping and random small branches left dangling. Can't wait for the tree to grow back in and wish I hadn't gotten it serviced. read more

They took out an apple tree, and a eucalyptus tree, as well as trimmed back another tree that was encroaching upon our roof. They were quick, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately, as they were taking down the Apple tree, they encountered a nest halfway down the trunk! There's absolutely no way they could've known it was there, and you could tell they were really shaken up about it. I had a palm tree that was the bane of my backyard's existence - another company quoted me thousands of dollars to be rid of it and guaranteed me at least two full days of work to be done. AM/PM charged me less than half the price of other places, and had the job done in just a matter of a few hours. At one point, a nest with baby squirrels in it fell out of the tree (oh no!) - the workmen retrieved the nest and made certain that the baby squirrels were all right while reassuring my children that the mommy squirrel would come save them (she did). I would give this company 10 stars if I could. Great to work with, they are easy to get ahold of, fast at scheduling a date/time, and they won't charge you an arm and a leg. I had a 30 foot tree in my front yard that was tearing down a retaining wall. I got a quote from Am/Pm and couldn't believe how reasonable they were, so I scheduled a date and time. They called me back that week with a cancellation and so I was able to get the tree removed sooner. I left their check under the mat (along with a copy of the permit from the city), left for work and a couple of hours later, I drove by and the tree and stump were gone! It was cleaned up so well that you could not tell a tree had ever been there! They came and went like rock star ninjas. Love this company! Can not recommend them enough. read more
