Flash pictures can make just about any old strain look decent. What I'm looking for is good flavor and smell, a well flushed flower and of course it needs to pack a punch. First off 50 bucks for an 1/8 is a much better price than 18 (sale prices) to 20-25 bucks for a gram. Now I will smoke some of what I got and give a better review....1 hour later: The strain we decided to try tonight is called Termination Dust heh. I have a weird breaking up ritual, I use scissors. I get asked why don't I use a grinder but some people get it and think it's neat-O speedo. I like to feel it and get a good sense of it's texture while I'm breaking it up. This strain is nice and chocolaty smelling, indica dominant, and is just dry enough, fairly sticky and trichrome covered. Very nice so far. Let's taste it. .. I got the green hit. It was very smooth and clean tasting. I could taste a bit of chocolate and herbal if I'm not wrong. I could immediately feel the effects 2 minutes into the first hit giving my body super relaxation and I know if my lid is lifted off this quickly, there's going to be a nice body high coming. Ideally because the price is really fair, I believe I will try more strains from here. Their hours are good too. Great prices and store hours that work for me will probably have me coming back again. Very excited to try more and I highly recommend.

So this place is quite interesting... At present, it is the site of grow operations and a tiny…read morediscrete dispensary. It's sister storefront, AK Green Light is a stones throw away around the corner on Northern Lights. AK Green Light, which is not yet open as of Feb 2017, will eventually be the main retail locations. But due to all the hoops cannabis operators have to go through, Ak Green Light is still tied up in red tape and not yet open to the public. In the interim, Fuzzy Budz is their sole retail outlet. The location is a non-descript converted home on teeny Eagle Street. At the time of my writing, the street is so packed with walls of snow that the store is barely visible from the street that's only 8 feet away. In winter, street parking is absolutely out of the question. There's about 8 parking spots in their lot, one of which is designated for handicapped customers with easy access to a ramp. The retail shop at the front of the building is little more than a foyer in which you place your order through a window. Even though i wasn't there to make a purchase, the staff was happy to answer my questions. As a gardener, I was interested to note this is the only place in Anchorage that seems to have C. Sativa in stock. Most shops in town are only selling C. Indica and hybrids- everyone I've asked has indicated that's what growers in Alaska are growing. They've all said there's very little available as soon as they get it in stock it sells out. This makes me wonder if the Fuzzy Budz folks are the only ones growing the Sativa species... (As a dorky gardner, I find this whole cannabis thing pretty interesting even though I don't smoke.) Anyway, what they told me is the indica is what causes you to get "couch lock" and the munchies and sativa makes you happy/high and in some cases, paranoid. The hybrids, of which there are apparently thousands, will produce combinations of effects. The prices listed seemed consistent with every other place in town. I would think that since they are cutting out the middle man and growing their own, we might expect to eventually see their prices be more competitive that the other retail shops in town. We'll see!

I'm *so* close to writing reviews of all the places we went to on our trip to Alaska (last summer,…read morepost-cruise), I figure I should really write the last two, before they're *completely* irrelevant. I'm thinking it's pretty likely it hasn't changed too much, but if it has, then just full disclosure, this was from a trip to Anchorage last summer.) Anyway, after our week-long first time cruise up the Alaska coast (that had been rescheduled for two years), which was otherwise gorgeous and pretty incredible, other than it being hell getting enough sleep when the sun didn't set until midnight and then came back up at 4 AM... by the end of the cruise, let's say I was really looking forward to some help sleeping. So, ending our cruise in Anchorage for a couple days before we flew home, and staying nearby, I ended up here, in this case, looking for just a *little* weed (since, like the cruise, we also couldn't fly with it home, because reasons. Can we please just fix this broken system already, so people can travel from one place where it's legal to another place where it's legal?) Well, they were super helpful in that - actually, nicer than California in that regard, weirdly. They had a whole selection of different price ranges, with all the prices and strains listed on a board, and some of them, they also sold half-size prerolls (for $4 instead of $5, so they got a good deal from *me*, but that's still great for people who are about to leave by plane!) Great people the day I was there, too, they had a lot to choose from, I got great help finding one that would help me sleep better (which it totally did). Also funny, since states are totally cut off from each other right now (again, cause reasons), all the brands were totally different than California flower brands - they had a surprisingly good selection of surprisingly reasonably priced flower and prerolls, though, would've loved to have stayed in Alaska a little longer to have tried a couple more of them, the one I tried was pretty solid! We also got one 3-pack of 10/10 cbd gummies, which was also totally solid (they also had 10 packs for a better price, of course.) Bit pricier than California, but from what I could tell, that was just true of gummies across Alaska for some reason. (I suppose it's likely the exact prices of things have gone up since months ago, too, just due to inflation. But at least as of a few months ago, their flower was California priced and their gummies seemed pretty reasonable for Alaska.)

MT and AK? What the hell is going on?…read moreThis MN wants in. Two deep red states. If you say you're for freedom, let's be for freedom. It's not like Montana or Alaska are Holland by any means, but I don't understand why Minnesota isn't on board already. You get outside of any city over 50K in MN and it is deep red, but MT and AK are deep red to the core. I don't partake very often, but I believe it should be a personal choice that is not criminalized for medicinal or recreational purposes. No desire to smoke it, but gimme those gummies when I can indulge in the forbidden fruit. They seemed to have a very large selection. Cash or debit cards only. No credit cards. Paid 20 something for an 8 pack. Made the Anchorage Museum way more interesting!
