I'm *so* close to writing reviews of all the places we went to on our trip to Alaska (last summer, post-cruise), I figure I should really write the last two, before they're *completely* irrelevant. I'm thinking it's pretty likely it hasn't changed too much, but if it has, then just full disclosure, this was from a trip to Anchorage last summer.) Anyway, after our week-long first time cruise up the Alaska coast (that had been rescheduled for two years), which was otherwise gorgeous and pretty incredible, other than it being hell getting enough sleep when the sun didn't set until midnight and then came back up at 4 AM... by the end of the cruise, let's say I was really looking forward to some help sleeping. So, ending our cruise in Anchorage for a couple days before we flew home, and staying nearby, I ended up here, in this case, looking for just a *little* weed (since, like the cruise, we also couldn't fly with it home, because reasons. Can we please just fix this broken system already, so people can travel from one place where it's legal to another place where it's legal?) Well, they were super helpful in that - actually, nicer than California in that regard, weirdly. They had a whole selection of different price ranges, with all the prices and strains listed on a board, and some of them, they also sold half-size prerolls (for $4 instead of $5, so they got a good deal from *me*, but that's still great for people who are about to leave by plane!) Great people the day I was there, too, they had a lot to choose from, I got great help finding one that would help me sleep better (which it totally did). Also funny, since states are totally cut off from each other right now (again, cause reasons), all the brands were totally different than California flower brands - they had a surprisingly good selection of surprisingly reasonably priced flower and prerolls, though, would've loved to have stayed in Alaska a little longer to have tried a couple more of them, the one I tried was pretty solid! We also got one 3-pack of 10/10 cbd gummies, which was also totally solid (they also had 10 packs for a better price, of course.) Bit pricier than California, but from what I could tell, that was just true of gummies across Alaska for some reason. (I suppose it's likely the exact prices of things have gone up since months ago, too, just due to inflation. But at least as of a few months ago, their flower was California priced and their gummies seemed pretty reasonable for Alaska.) read more

MT and AK? What the hell is going on? This MN wants in. Two deep red states. If you say you're for freedom, let's be for freedom. It's not like Montana or Alaska are Holland by any means, but I don't understand why Minnesota isn't on board already. You get outside of any city over 50K in MN and it is deep red, but MT and AK are deep red to the core. I don't partake very often, but I believe it should be a personal choice that is not criminalized for medicinal or recreational purposes. No desire to smoke it, but gimme those gummies when I can indulge in the forbidden fruit. They seemed to have a very large selection. Cash or debit cards only. No credit cards. Paid 20 something for an 8 pack. Made the Anchorage Museum way more interesting! read more

Came by to explore. In town for a couple of days and thought we would check out what is going on. We have been to recreational spots in Colorado and thought it would be fun to compare and contrast. I do not typically partake these days. My wife has never done so. Met at the door by a mildly aggressive, but not unpleasant gal seeking ID. I produced my PA Permit to Carry photo ID - no good. Rather than have a moment I offered my PA driver's license. Ok. We proceeded to the back showroom beyond a keyed doorway. All goods are displayed in nice looking jewelry like cases. Seems a bit precious to me but I guess that is how they do it these days. It was explained that it is not legal to smoke in public, or in the store, but if you are discreet police won't fine you. Still seems a bit goofy to us. Legal to purchase but not use? If I buy a beer in a bar I can drink it there but not on the street. Also, I took note of the prices. Way off the chart from what I recall from the old days. We bought some edibles for later in the trip. The store was not crowded at lunchtime on a Thursday. Ambiance "a", Service "a". Have to take my previous review down a few notches. Really disappointed lately in this shop. They are acting so weird about their discounts now. Went from a 20% discount down to a point system where if you get 55 points you get 2 dollars off. They keep changing the system they use. You're supposed to check in but now they want you to bring in the actual phone too? What the hell? The account is attached to my phone but sometimes my husband goes in while I'm at home. They are so worried about people cheating their discounts somehow that they don't recognize a regular customer? Ok bud. So my husband goes in the other day to get some Tundra Berry which we really love. The bud tender told him he had to have my phone for the discount but I wasn't there. When my husband asked him a few questions he was told curtly that if he didn't like it there are other shops in town. We didn't like being treated that way when we come in SEVERAL times weekly to give them business. He was very rude to my husband. Do you know what? We took their advice and decided to try other shops. There are actually some really good ones now and when I try more of theirs I'll leave a review for them. Definitely one of the nicest and cheapest shops in Anchorage. But also a shop that I advise people not to patronize because I have concerns the owner is playing the long game and deliberately undercutting the market with the intent jacking up prices once he puts the competition out of business. I certainly don't want to malign the dude, but the guy who owns this place is a very savvy business owner. That being said, I've heard great things about his product, the store is gorgeous and the prices are great. It's so it's kind of hard to argue with that. I had posted a amazing review that had received over 30,000 views as they emailed me informing me. Now it's gone for some reason. This place has great service but the Prices are high due to premium product. I was a regular but the discount system makes it so you don't even want to use it and the prices are absurd. They also delete reviews they don't like. My first review and first time was fine so I left a good review with photos. Yelp emailed me saying Over 30k had viewed the review. Then the owner had it taken down. He cherry picks which reviews he wants to stay. read more

This is one of my favorite dispensaries, although not quite my favorite. I like how the store is always clean and the people are friendly. There's always a HUGE selection of flower and pre-rolls, but what I like the most is the selection of FECO. This is the best place I've found for buying FECO; and I usually grab a couple pre-rolls to try something different. The prices here are about average for a dispensary, but they almost always have some sort of deal going on, too. Overall I'm a regular here for a few good reasons: service, quality, and friendliness. read more

The staff is great. I stopped going there and I know some others have too since upping the price on some good quality flower they have. I think its ridiculous to raise prices that much. The worst customer service ever. I was in there 10 minutes standing at the glass counter downtown and a female put the " closed" sign up and walked away. I told the eyeglass wearing manager and he had no reaction and walked away. I am a regular customer so they know me so, they just don't give a fan about keeping returning customers. Great Northern for over two years has been my go to pot shop but recently they have been far from my favorite. Just using today as an example, I tried to redeem points I have accumulated on their reward system for prerolls. I was only able to get one preroll that cost 275 points and was not allowed to use anymore points. I've always been able to use all my points and never limited to one preroll. Then, when I was checking out the bud tender said I can't use my veterans discount for a cartridge because I used points and that counts as a "discount". This also must be a new change because I have never ran into this either. On top of the issues I ran into today I noticed their prices are some of the highest in town now and with the news reports of moldy weed, I would just avoid this place all together. I used to buy a couple ounces a month from GNC, now I'll take my business elsewhere! read more

Worst store in Anchorage. Crappy over priced weed, their menu is never ever up to date. They claim to be the "cheapest" in town yet they never have the low prices they swear to have. I was in the downtown shop a few nights ago and had horrible customer service. Kelly with short black hair, would come out from the back and Yell at customers asking if they wanted deli. She did not explain what Deli was, just yelled at you to ask if you wanted it. She would then yell at you to get in the middle line but not help you. The Deli line then piled up with customers as the other bud tender at the Deli line was going very slow. Every time I'm in there this Kelly bud tender is rude. Why would you keep such a rude employee who explains nothing and helps no one, she just rushes right to the back of the store. read more

I have been here multiple times in the beginning when it was first opened. The prices now are over inflated! The pre-rolls expensive , cartridges are too expensive. The atmosphere has completely changed I've seen they have fired several of the local employees and do not respect hard-working Alaskans, this is a corporation posing as a local shop. I will not return. Other retailers are truly local with great prices and respect for their customers and employees of Alaska. There are cheaper better places to go in Anc. read more

i come to GNC consistently just because of how close it is to my home. as far as flower goes it's not horrible based on the price point. as far as the cartridges the product itself is good but i have had a number problems with them. first time, which was probably a month ago i bought a cartridge and i it brought home. when i attempted to screw in the connecter piece for my palm vape (which i have bought countless 1/2 gram cartridges from GNC for) the threads on the screw & the cartridges didn't match and would not connect at all. the screw would literally fall off. annoying but okay no problem i thought, the thing they say every time you purchase cartridges from them is "return in 72 hours if there are any issues". i came back in probably 15 minutes later to get very rudely acknowledged by the short bleach blonde girl, telling me i can't have the cartridge that i just purchased in the store. okay my bad i understand you try your best to comply with the strict laws but she could have gone about it completely differently considering i was just there 15 minutes ago and got my ID checked by her. i get in and explain my issue to an employee who responds "yeah that sounds like a battery issue" i tell him no... the battery works it's just the threads of the screw don't match your product, and that i had just purchased the same cartridge, same strain, same brand 7 days before that. she responds "well the screw is part of the battery so it's definitely a battery issue" as if she completely disregarded what i had just said. probably about 5 more employees come up to look at, including tyler who another employee said was his manager, who all reiterated the same thing the first girl said. i asked if we could try another cartridge and see if that will fit but they said "no because there's no detectable issues with the original cartridge we will not replace it" not even willing to use power of deduction to help fix my problem. FINALLY, the actually manager comes over (i wish i could remember her name) looks at it, and pulls out an empty cartridges and sees that my screw is working correctly and that the issue lies with the cartridge they had just sold me. this whole fiasco took probably 40 minutes and wasted my entire morning before i had to go work. so since then i've been reluctant to come back just because that was such a huge annoyance and really made me upset. but today i decided to give them another chance. i bought the product and connected it to my palm vape but it didn't smoke at all. this is a $32 battery that i've had since september that i use regularly so i kind of figured it'd be coming to end of life soon but it struck me as questionable only because it was working fine yesterday. so i walk back in for them to test it just to make sure they verify the cartridge is working. bleach blonde attitude girl is the same one helping me now, who goes and tests the cartridge after i express my issues to her. she comes back and says "yeah it looks like it's working so there's nothing we can do for you". no solution is offered or nothing beyond that. you work in a retail store, why wouldn't you try upsell me or offer me a solution? just "it's working fine so bye" is the vibe i got from that girl. i'm pretty sad about all of this because they have decent product at a decent price. your customer service needs serious work. and the blond girl needs a very serious attitude check. i'm sure i'm not the only customer she's treated this way. i shouldn't feel like i could cry because i'm so upset after leaving a pot shop. you guys lost a customer for good today. the only good thing i can say from my experience today is Garrett and Brittany at the front are awesome employees. when blond girl wrote me off i then went up to them and said the same thing to them "maybe my issue is the battery" they immediately pointed me to batteries they sell and gave me solutions and recommendations. and then helped me after when i came in after that too because i couldn't figure out how it works. on top of that while they were helping me garrett was hustling to make sure people were assisted as soon as they walked in. you guys are great and were incredibly helpful. read more
