We've got two furnace setups: one hooked up to our water boiler on the top floor and the other down in the basement. This is the only crew who actually did something to fix it. Hunted them down through our furnace brand "Radiant" and reached out directly. Radiant pointed us to Omega, licensed to handle their units, which is more modern than the usual setup in older homes so they are more knowledgeable. Despite seeing Enercare plastered everywhere on the equipment, turns out they just subcontract jobs. The same tech who installed our unit ages ago before we moved in? Yep, he's the same person swooped back in to save the day! They made three trips. First visit, Dennis sorted a minor water boiler leak by simply tweaking a tap inside. Despite looking fresh out of trade school, this guy knew his stuff--way more than the seasoned Enercare guy. Enercare quoted crazy amounts for a simple fix that Dennis nailed with a twist of a screw. He then logically pieced together the heating issue, suspecting a missing relay, a tiny part that shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. They also suggested installing a two to flush water tank for $200 to clear out any gunk buildup for maintenance, so we went for it. Next visit, they diagnosed further, they brought an incorrect part, so they had to buy a new one and flushed the water boiler. Had to come back a third time with Walter, the OG installer, to slap in the right unit. Mind you, it's been a month and a half (we were on vacay), and they didn't ask for money until the job was done. It worked! In comparison to Enercare, the tech hinted at needing to call in more pros, potentially costing a fortune. Another tech I found on Yelp? Utterly useless. Charged us $80 for a staircase stroll and zero heating fixes. Was leaning toward a solid 5-star review... until yesterday, when our furnace acted up again. Heat was calling, but one of the units didn't kick in until we turned on the water tap. Can't 100% vacation without our house turning into an icebox, it seems. Gonna keep an eye on it since it's just once since, but if this keeps up, we know who to call. Total cost came up to $688, hefty though I think it's fair for coming in three times for fixing the water leak, maintenance/flushing the water tank pipes and fixing the heat (to be honest it could have been 2 visits)?... Take a look at my receipt and tell me if they overcharged. I think it's fair they spent quite some time figuring it out. I only regret buying out our water tank and furnace before we experienced our first winter. Basically wiped any rental savings away. More people need to leave reviews for their service pros, so hard to find a good one! Update: Came in the 4th time since we notice the water doesn't get super hot. They figured out that a part that was diverting the hot water broke but should be in warranty and they can order and get compensated back.

The salesperson came by the following morning to take a look at what needs to be done. I decided to replace my aging furnace at the same time and the salesperson walked me through the set of rebates that I can get from both Ontario and Enbridge. They also recommended adding attic insulation, which I hadn't done and was much needed. The additional Enbridge rebate pretty much pays for the insulation minus the required energy audit. Constant Home Comfort was able to get local contractors to install the hot water heater and the furnace on the same day. The contractors rolled out a carpet to the basement so that they didn't track dirt into the house and they did a great job of cleaning up after. The contractors fixed some issues with the A/C coil leaking into the furnace. They also taught us how to maintain the new equipment. Constant Home Comfort also took care of the rebates and set up the visit by the energy auditor. They still have to add insulation to the attic, but so far I'm very pleased with their service. Constant Home Comfort takes payment through cheque. They also speak Mandarin.

They finally sent a technician who has no idea how to fix the machine. Promised to send another technician after the first who apparently will still not be able to fix the machine, they are just going to come here and call the manufacturer. We are just supposed to sit here in the scorching heat waiting for them to call the manufacturer who refuses to take their calls. The 24 hr service is an absolute lie. The units they sell are faulty. This company is a scam!

Everything is working well now and comfortably working at home today. He said that the freon was low and recharged it for an additional fee . This did not solve the problem. It still would run but not cool. Their office called and did not offer to come out and recheck but advised it was not repairable and I needed to replace the unit for $8000+. I had another firm come out to evaluate the problem. They found that when they removed and examined the chassis there was about a quarter inch layer of dirt built up on the outside coil. This was cleaned and the unit was rechecked. The unit is not very old and I was advised that there was no problem with leaking coolant and no other problems were observed. The unit is now operating normally. Why the maintenance did not resolve this the first time I don't know. The technician for "For Saving" was pleasant but presumably under qualified. Competence, integrity and honesty are obviously in question with this firm in this case. Sadly very disappointing....

Max visited my apartment to assess what type of a/c was needed, the placement and the electrical issues involved. He explained the breakdown of costs and the installation.  When he left, I felt he had answered all my questions and was aware of my concerns. Two men arrived on time and took just a little over 3 hours to install my ductless a/c (they also had to install the electrical outlet and connect the outlet to my electrical box).  Before they left, they made sure I tested the unit, and knew how to care and clean it during winter and summer.  They also made sure all installation debris was removed in my apartment and the path to their van. I was so impressed with their service that I recommended them to a friend in my building (he recommended them to two other friends).

To begin with, Jack took the time to walk me through some basic steps to eliminate and try to solve my issue(no water). When that didn't work, both he and Mark showed up in this nasty heat and did their troubleshooting and repair within 3hrs. This was replacing the original well pump, original well piping and original wiring (all early 1970s) and dropping the pump a bit further down. Their knowledge and experience as well with their professionalism was amazing. Most expensive shower I've ever taken, but extremely worth it. I would highly recommend Maltby's to anyone who needs any well or water service. Thanks again boys. Much appreciated!
