It is a bit like a scene from a romantic comedy starring Julia Roberts. Anyway, I digress, I do like the restaurant with it's Kitsch plastic fruit and crustaceans adorning the walls. I have even been adventurous and eaten in. I wouldn't say it is anywhere near the best Thai food in the area but it is consistent and close by. I always order the Chicken Basil with fried rice even though it tastes nothing like any other Chicken Basil I have ever had anywhere else. I would recommend their house named dishes ie. Pattaya Fish. The food is a little hit and miss and does have a somewhat greasy taste but it isn't completely unpleasant. If you like daggy, cheap asian restaurants I would certainly give this a go. If you want something more upmarket or mainstream give it a wide berth. If you do go in say hello to Wang. He will be operating the oversized calculator on the front desk. When we first ventured in here we used to laugh (quietly to ourselves of course) because he would always check the addition on his calculator about three times. Then one day when I was waiting, I happened to check out the calculator and realised that it was so worn out you couldn't see the numbers and that is why he had to triple check. But all is good now as I went in for the first time in a while and noticed a shiny new calculator in pride of place and when it came to pay, Wang only had to do the addition once!

And was strangely flavoured. Probably because it had basil leaves instead of the proper lime and lemongrass leaves. The Pandan chicken was kind of sour - should have been sweet. The mains took another hour to come. The waiter apologised and offered us free drinks, which we refused but I asked him for tea. He said he'd bring us Chinese tea and ended up bringing some kind of medicinal flavoured herbal tea. Not really very appetizing. The Pattaya fish ended up being served in little fried pieces instead of as a whole fish that we expected. We should have gone for the steamed fish. The special crab-fried rice was pretty much just rice. my partner said he tasted some crab in one bite. The curry veg was mostly cabbage and very soupy. Not much veg in it. The toilet only has a dirty looking bar of soap on the sink for washing hands. We wouldn't touch it. Overall, not a great experience.

I've only ever been here for coffee on a Sunday afternoon and the coffee is worth a mention but by all accounts they're better known for their Thai Food. I just wish I'd known about their reputation when I went there because I am quite partial to a good serve of Pad Thai. They have a good selection of tables inside as well as a small but really cool outside area that is dog friendly. There's just a few tables here but they face onto the street and it's a great spot to watch the world go by on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I will be going back here very soon for a Thai meal. Can't wait!

This authentic Thai restaurant has a great casual atmosphere which is enhanced by the friendly team of attentive waiting staff. The menu is well balanced and gives the customer great choices of authentic Thai dishes ranging from wok stir fries, noodle dishes and salads to traditional curries. The entrees I have tried are all exceptional - Pandan Chicken, Spring Rolls, Dim Sims, Thai Fish Cakes and Money Bags. I recommend you try the Pandan Chicken for its amazing flavour of spices. The Money Bags were also a pleasant surprise - especially as these are normally not a favourite of mine. The main dishes I have sampled were absolutely the best in Adelaide! I absolutely loved the Masaman Beef Curry and wish I could find one as good as this in Sydney. I highly recommend that you try this on your next visit. Other dishes to definitely try are the Thai Basil Chicken (Hot), Thai Garlic Prawns and Pud Thai Tu Noodles. In Thais' signature dish is the Moreton Bay Bugs - tails tossed with fresh vegetables in their own special Thai chilli sauce. The sumptuous and delicately flavoured Moreton Bay Bug tails were cooked perfectly and presented in ready to eat bite sized portions. No need for you to get your fingers dirty here. The flesh falls away from the shell easily and is sautéed with all the exotic flavours of the special chilli sauce. This is mixed with various vegetables. My favourite cold main is the Thai Spinach salad - perfect for those hot Adelaide Summer nights. Desserts - I always craved the Banana Fritters with the delicious caramel sauce. Sometimes this was not always available to my disappointment, but if you are able to sample it, do try it for yourself! , the sauce melts Otherwise I always opted for a Caramel Pecan muffin. When lightly heated the sauce oozes nicely over the cake. Yummy! The restaurant also opens for breakfast from 8:30am to11:30am with many breakfast options. I tried the Thai Omelette, which was a great breakfast choice. Newly added choices that I want to try are Smoked Norwegian Salmon, French Brioche Toast or the Pan Fried Duck Eggs. I really miss not being able to pop down to In Thais since moving to Sydney, but I can't wait to come back to your wonderful restaurant when next I am in Adelaide.
