One Thursday night with no booking we walked into Orientai, a staff member was waiting to greet us. We were escorted to a table that was set out beautifully, I would be happy to dine here even for a formal occasion. Our drinks order was taken and I appreciate that without having to ask, water is brought to your table as well as your ordered drink. Orientai had been recommended to us by friends which was already a good starting point for me. We had the spring roles as an entree which I must say were a little disappointing and I probably would not order them again. The main meals however were a total different story. Having had the salt and pepper squid strongly recommended by a friend I ordered a main and my partner ordered a main of the honey chicken, we also ordered a pad thai and shared the lot. There is no other way of describing the food we ate other than absolutely amazing! The serving size alone was massive (one main between the two of us would have been enough), yet I personally consider this a good thing as the staff were more than happy to put our remaining meals in take away boxes. This restaurant without a doubt holds adelaides best salt and pepper squid recipe - the sauce on top can get a little spicy so perhaps for those sensitive to hot food, they could ask for the sauce on the side. Finally, when the waiter brought our bill over we were pleasantly surprised as we had only spend about $60 and had left with enough food to feed both of us for lunch the next day. read more
