Rather, it fresh and made with quality ingredients. The staff are great and the surroundings nostalgic of the 70s but clean and well maintained. It's been there for a while with the same family running it. So they must doing something right. Very reasonably priced too.

Imagine my excitement when I saw a 'cafe open soon' sign on the corner building in this block of shops o Diagonal Road ... I wondered whether it would be a granny-ish tea rooms style place, or a trendy upmarket cafe. Well, it's kind of a combination of both, which is probably perfect for this sort of area. I visited the second day after it opened, and it was nearly full - lots of elderly folk, which makes sense in the Warradale area. The cafe is quite modern, with the fitout very simple in white with a red and black menu board, and a gorgeous red coffee machine. The staff are very friendly older people - I ordered a soy latte (yay, they had soy milk!), and though I had to wait a while (since the guy was still learning to use the machine), it was delicious! I get the feeling that this is a new venture for these owners, and it's great to see people this age taking on a new business with enthusiasm! Overall, this is definitely a place I will be visiting again ... next time I'll test out a long black ;)

The only criticism was that the haloumi was a bit overcooked, which made it rubbery... and the poached eggs were hard inside and not at all runny, which sort of ruined it for him as the rest of the ingredients were a bit dry on their own and really needed that runny egg yolk to bring it all together! Regardless, we will definitely be returning. Great selection of food (particularly for vegetarians) compared to the standard coffee, toast and eggs you get at most of the other cafes. The Outcome : Jackpot! I stumble upon Ang's Café at Marion Westfield and have unknowingly discovered a gem of a coffee shop that I'm sure to visit again. Having made purchases at the Seafood shop on one side of Ang's and the Health Food Shop on the other, I just couldn't be bothered walking to any of my normal haunts so in I went only to discover this place was a WINNER. After I opened my eyes and looked properly at Ang's I realised they actually sell coffee beans and blends and specialise in coffee and tea. Bags of coffee and coffee related paraphernalia are abundant and inexpensive, but if none of that is your bag, there is also tea on offer. Furniture is always kept clean by the vigilant and friendly staff, and seats inside the pleasant smelling store are comfortable. There are also tables outside the front of the store, in a prime position to sneakily people watch as they pick up their cheeses, fruit, baked goods, and meat from nearby stores.
