Used this company twice once in May 2022 and once in July 31, 2022. Both times they showed up 2 or more hours late. The first set of guys wrapped and moved everything extra carefully. No issues. The second set, were 4 hours late, ruined personal items, left me without assembled beds or dining table for my children and my self for over 24 hours. I was promised multiple times that the owner would come and address the unassembled furniture, he did not show up. He called and sounded like he was concerned but ended not even responding or showing up. He has great potential and a few great guys but without proper logistics and communication, this company will ruin your moving experience. Still waiting on a response to the damage to my furniture, walls and floor of a brand new home. I tried to be understanding and easy going but when I was told by one of the movers that it wasn't her job to move certain items up the stairs and that I shouldn't be upset by the way my items where left or the poor communication , I felt a review was needed. I paid for a two story move. Twice. I'm pretty sure I moved more of my items on the truck just to keep it from getting damaged and keep it moving. Frequent smoke breaks, neglectful of personal items. They lost some screws to my furniture. My filing cabinet was bent and smells like cigarettes, we don't smoke, desk and dressers were left turned up on their side without out any consideration of placement. These photos are how they LEFT my delivery. The owner said he would return and assemble himself, but a different team showed up a after 7pm the next day and it wasn't until 9:38pm on Monday night that I finally had a bed assembled. It was a disaster. Left a mess of popsicles plastic in my sink. I would love to see this as an opportunity to fix the mistakes. At this time 5:43am on 8/3. No response. Moving day was July 31. I would suggest starting the moves at 9am as scheduled, instead of 1-2pm. Then you wouldn't be working till 1am and still leaving the job incomplete. A lot of people do not take the time to give a honest true review , so most companies are judged off of bad ones mainly. GOOD reviews should also be done not just bad ones!!!! Its very unfair to the Company and Employees to only have negative reviews because no one takes the time to post positive reviews about there services that Always Macon Moves provided for them... This company is Amazing and went the extra mile to get me on schedule on such short notice already. Kalie was asking questions I didn't even think about but so glade she did. They told me what all would be happening on the day they were coming step for step. Very detailed in explaining what's all included with there service.. Movers were very late and it was hard to get in contact with anyone while waiting. It was to the point where I wasn't even sure if they would show up or not( especially based on other reviews). Movers eventually showed up and were quick and friendly. I was given a discount for the tardiness. However I was not charged the agreed upon price (overcharged for 3 hours even though I only had the movers for one hour) Manager came off as friendly initially and offered a solution (offered to listen to the call to make sure correct information was given) but later recanted this solution and advised me that I should have known about their minimum hourly limit. The issue with this is that I had already paid my deposit before receiving any notification of an hourly minimum. This is my first time hiring movers and I was not aware of this requirement- only went based off what I was told by the representative on the phone when she went over the pricing. If I had been told up front about an hourly minimum I would not have booked- especially since my father moved a good amount of the stuff alongside the moving staff (we thought we were only going to be charged for an hour so he helped out to speed up the process). Terrible experience. If you decide to book please be aware of a 3 hour minimum because they may not disclose to you over the phone. Last thing to note: you are able to chose between 2 and 3 movers. I have moved so many times and this was by far the worst moving company I have ever dealt with. The antics used to take a move as long as possible. Also, they arrived with a smaller truck than necessary for a 3 bedroom move. They were 2 hours late, I could not get clear information on when they would actually arrive. The owner (?) Tim arrived after about a hour with a dolly, and worked a few mins while the employees stood around. These guys are absolutely a scam, they will do everything they can to slow down your move. After 2 hours, I had them put my bed on truck and told them enough is enough. One guy sat around most of the time, without a care in the world. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. Their business tactics are absolutely to drive up your moving costs as high as possible. I have always used Good Guys in Macon and this time I did not and it has been the most expensive mistake of my life. 1) They legit just say one thing to your face and charge you something different. 2) Purposely slow as to run up the clock then took a lunch at 3 when the job started at 12:30. Did furniture assembly with manual tools. NO POWER DRILL? 3) Their 3 workers were sweet but they can't lift a feather. Third floor is a hard move but one was struggling hard to carry my night stand. 4) it was a transfer move I was moving from one unit to another in the same complex. 2br (queen bed and bunk beds) and dining room and living room (my stuff is old and not high quality) 5 hours!!! 5) You Will have the first contact with a woman named Kailie and she will be sugary sweet and give you a Low balance due and admit to owing you money then her husband Tim will come behind her via text or in person and refute what she said and say she's bad at math. They purposely apologize and verbally tell you a friendlier amount due then get you to sign this contract (bill of lading) then invoice you for hourly rate. I could go on about the bad faith practices but this has been the worst move of my life. I am trying to take solace in the fact that good doesn't come to those who scheme and scam. Can I say this was the absolute worst experience of my life. These people are scammers! Please BEWARE! They requested a $160 deposit, I paid them. They informed me they had availability the next day at 11am. Can I say they didn't show up for 2 hours. They got to my storage until around 1:15pm. They kept getting locked out of my storage unit even though the code was provided to them by the storage manager. They showed up to the storage unit with little to NO GAS ! Had to stop for gas and in a hour got stuck in an hour and 30mins worth of traffic! I called the manager and asked would I be charge for them getting gas and getting stuck in traffic and he stated no. I recorded him and repeated the question twice! He states he would charge for the mileage to and from which was 46miles. The movers arrived to my new home at 4:55pm and was done loading the truck at 5:14pm (all caught on my ring camera). The mover called me to see if the owner called me to verify payment. He had not. I had to call 8x before I received a call back. He stated he had to do a new card authorization and would send the invoice. He sent the card authorization but I called to call back several times again for the invoices. The invoice was for over $800! For 5.5 hours! To remind you, due to the 2 hour delay I was not suppose to get charge for the mover getting stuff in rush hour traffic which is why I picked an early time. Owner stated it took the movers 1.5 to love the things I'm my home (when I have on camera it taking them less than 30mins), and hour in a half to get to me (it's 46miles, not true) and 1.5 for them to load the truck. They took break, they stopped for gas, got stuck in traffic and it took no time to get the things in my home. How does that make sense? I called the owner and he stated that was the price and basically that was that. I refused to pay him for 5.5 hours because that not what the job was worth. He had his movers camp outside my house for 3.5 hour! My fiancé and brother, offered the men a beer and they then informed us the manager had to send them gas money, they had to wait for keys for the truck and told them to sit at my house till he got his f**ing money. HOW DISGUSTING ! The worker had him on speaker and all was recorded ! Worst part is, while all this is going on I was in the hospital for pregnancy complications. He stated he was going to call the police and have a warrant for my arrest put out. Which you cannot do because this is a civil matter! I stated I was perfectly fine with that but to send them to the hospital since I was there. This man NEVER called the police at all, had his workers outside my house for 3.5 hour for absolutely NOTHING ! I called Gwinnett County and they stated no officer was dispatched to my home, so I requested one to be sent to get the men off my property and filed a police report for harassment and trespassing. I'm laying in an hospital bed, so my mother and fiancé took over for this idiot to say my mom was impersonating a FBI agent. I've never been so disgusted in my life. Little do this man know my father is a federal police officer. All of this was recorded! He text my phone from another number pretending to be a female (my fiancé called the number back and he answered). Then called at almost 11pm at night threatening me again! I submitted everything to the better business bureau, I filed a police report and did multiple complaint to other bureaus in regards to this shady company. I then get a call from my bank stated his was trying to charge my card for over $500! Luckily I had the police report and report him to every where for the charge never went through and not to mention my bank already deactivated that account ! This man is a scammer. He never had authorization to charge my card ! I already started a law suit because even the nurse in the hospital documented in my paperwork the incident cause pain and suffer and caused me to stay in the hospital longer. This not only worst moving company I ever encountered but the worst company period I've ever encountered. We had another moving company cancel on us at the last minute and contacted Always Macon Moves. Our move was furniture from my mother's house 40 miles away to my house in Macon. Even though it was the day of I was assured that they could handle it. They were shocked that another company had stood us up. They would never do that. They would hire other movers before canceling. They had 8 trucks and that would never be an issue. After I paid the $150 deposit they told me they would meet me at my mother's house between 1:00-2:00. They were to call when leaving Macon. I drove on anyway to be there by 1:00. After not hearing a thing from them by 2:30, I called and got voicemail. This happened 4-5 times. I started texting and after 4-5 text messages I got a response. I asked what time will they arrive. Response was when do you want us to arrive. You said you would be here between 1:00-2:00. 'We usually schedule between 9:00-10:00.' I demanded someone call me. Original guy we talked to, Derek called and said an earlier move was taking longer than anticipated and they would be there by 5:00. I said okay but started thinking how late the entire move would take. Check some online reviews and saw that all this was a common practice for them. Several voicemails and texts later. I got Derek to call again and told him I was canceling and I deserved my deposit back. He was why? What happened? After a moment of stunned disbelief I told him why. I then got a call from someone else who didn't identify himself. He was acting like he was upset and like he was doing me a favor since it was same day. I told him to forget it. I packed what I could and left for Macon. At 6:00 I got a text from Derek saying his guys were about to head for my mother's house. I was already back in Macon and wanted my deposit back. I waited to write my review because if they gave my deposit back I was going to let it slide. Hire this company at your own peril. Check out their yelp reviews.
