    Awful moving company! This company scratched my kitchen floors so bad they have to be redone. They also refused to help fix them!!

    On 19 February 2026, I received an email stating: "We are scheduled to begin packing on 03/03/2026…read moreand will load 03/05/2026." Shortly thereafter, I spoke with a company representative (believed to be Lisa) and informed her that the estimated 17,000 lbs was significantly inaccurate and that the shipment was closer to approximately 300 lbs, not requiring multiple packing or loading days. She agreed, and we verbally adjusted the schedule. However, I never received a confirmation email or any written follow-up reflecting this change. At approximately 1630 on 4 March 2026, I received a phone call stating movers would arrive between 0800-1000 on 5 March. I was told I would receive a call 30-60 minutes prior to arrival. When no movers arrived during the stated window and no advance call was received, I contacted the company and spoke with Heather B. During this call, I was informed that I was required to remain available from 0800-1700 per documentation that had allegedly been sent to me. When I requested clarification on when this communication had been sent, Heather was unable to provide a date or documentation and stated it was an automated email. I never received any such email beyond the 19 February message and the 4 March phone call. Additionally, I was informed that this availability requirement was "military policy" and that any concerns should be directed to the military. This response was inappropriate, as the issue was not policy, but rather a lack of clear communication and confirmed scheduling from the company. While I understand that moving schedules can shift and delays occur, the lack of written confirmation, inability to substantiate claims of prior communication, and the unprofessional tone during my conversation with Heather were unacceptable. During the call, I was interrupted repeatedly and spoken over to the point that I had to state twice that I was not attempting to argue but simply resolve the issue. My concern is not operational delays, but rather communication failures and customer service conduct.

    Used this company twice once in May 2022 and once in July 31, 2022. Both times they showed up 2 or…read moremore hours late. The first set of guys wrapped and moved everything extra carefully. No issues. The second set, were 4 hours late, ruined personal items, left me without assembled beds or dining table for my children and my self for over 24 hours. I was promised multiple times that the owner would come and address the unassembled furniture, he did not show up. He called and sounded like he was concerned but ended not even responding or showing up. He has great potential and a few great guys but without proper logistics and communication, this company will ruin your moving experience. Still waiting on a response to the damage to my furniture, walls and floor of a brand new home. I tried to be understanding and easy going but when I was told by one of the movers that it wasn't her job to move certain items up the stairs and that I shouldn't be upset by the way my items where left or the poor communication , I felt a review was needed. I paid for a two story move. Twice. I'm pretty sure I moved more of my items on the truck just to keep it from getting damaged and keep it moving. Frequent smoke breaks, neglectful of personal items. They lost some screws to my furniture. My filing cabinet was bent and smells like cigarettes, we don't smoke, desk and dressers were left turned up on their side without out any consideration of placement. These photos are how they LEFT my delivery. The owner said he would return and assemble himself, but a different team showed up a after 7pm the next day and it wasn't until 9:38pm on Monday night that I finally had a bed assembled. It was a disaster. Left a mess of popsicles plastic in my sink. I would love to see this as an opportunity to fix the mistakes. At this time 5:43am on 8/3. No response. Moving day was July 31. I would suggest starting the moves at 9am as scheduled, instead of 1-2pm. Then you wouldn't be working till 1am and still leaving the job incomplete. A lot of people do not take the time to give a honest true review , so most companies are judged off of bad ones mainly. GOOD reviews should also be done not just bad ones!!!! Its very unfair to the Company and Employees to only have negative reviews because no one takes the time to post positive reviews about there services that Always Macon Moves provided for them... This company is Amazing and went the extra mile to get me on schedule on such short notice already. Kalie was asking questions I didn't even think about but so glade she did. They told me what all would be happening on the day they were coming step for step. Very detailed in explaining what's all included with there service.. Not to mention there prices are very competitive and was a great deal for all that was done from beginning to end ... I'm just over all very pleased with this Moving Company . Long story short, we made a very complete budget with videos, distances, inventory etc.. but at the end of the job, they charged me almost double. We sat down in a reasonable manner and negotiated a fair price which I paid and they even gave me a receipt, but once they left the house they made an additional charge to my credit card for the difference (+250). They stopped answering the phone and emails, I'm still dealing with the dispute on my CC. Hear me when I warn you to STAY AWAY from these thieves!!

    This review rating should start with a decimal point…read more "We're a family-owned business with our own fleet of trucks and drivers." - Our AMS "Senior Moving Coordinator" contact (salesman) Maybe that's even technically true, but it's FAR from the entire story. Their truck showed up two days late for pickup in California, severely complicating our departure. It was an Enterprise 26' rental. The driver and his associate were subcontractors from Las Vegas. One reason they were late was that CHP had sequestered their truck overnight near Bakersfield for logbook violations. We were quoted a "7-14 day" delivery window to our new home in Baltimore. "AMS" finally arrived after 20 days, and the driver, (another contractor, who spoke broken Russian accent English), refused to enter our neighborhood, citing "commercial vehicle size/weight restrictions," which my new neighbors all scoffed at ("moving vans come in and out of here all the time"). I myself had seen an Atlas Van Lines semi down the street on the day we closed on the house on March 29th. Mr. "Senior Moving Coordinator" had stopped responding to my phone calls and emails midway through the episode. They held us up for a last-minute Sunday night additional $1,900 "shuttle service fee" in order to relinquish our belongings. We had no choice, as the driver threatened "I'm leaving Maryland tomorrow." As we unpack, the inventory of broken and otherwise damaged items grows depressingly. The fact that this seems to be an industry-wide failing in no way excuses AMS. There's LOTS more.
