I found them through a Google and Yelp search with glowing reviews and competitive prices while searching for self-care places on my wedding preparation journey. Scheduling an appointment online through their website is easy and they have two locations for your convenience. When I walked in, the front staff greeted and checked me in promptly, the front area is inviting, space is clean and tastefully decorated. I came in feeling so nervous, almost on the verge of tears from how anxious I was due to how sensitive my skin is. Grace melted those worries away as I built trust from her expertise and care. Grace is professional, polite, and personable. Her gentle technique and mindfulness for sensitivity made the wax bearable. I appreciated her conversation topics and bubbly persona, it made me feel at ease. Her aftercare suggestions and knowledge make me confident in knowing I found an esthetician and salon that will strive to have the best experience for all clients in a judgement-free space. When my last waxer left the salon she worked at, I had to find someone new. At the time, Corinna worked there too. I started seeing her after trying someone else first who I just didn't vibe with. When I started seeing Corinna, I immediately felt so much more relaxed during my waxes. The conversation with her is good. Nothing is ever awkward. That's pretty important to me when I'm that exposed. When Corinna decided to start her own business, I followed her to her new location. She rents a room inside of an OBGYN office in west ashley off of Charlie Hall (behind Home Depot). This is a nice OBGYN office, top notch. The Epicenter is what they call it. The bathrooms always awe me. They are well put together with nice sinks, big mirrors, and cool light fixtures. Great for selfies. The lobby always has a mini fridge full of mini water bottles. There is a bunch of chewy bars on top of that usually for snacks. I've taken some before. I don't think they care. Corinna is a great aesthetician. I get waxes from her and they are always done well. If you don't like your eyebrows, tell her when she hands you the mirror and she'll fix them. Initially, she asks you what you want done with your eyebrows but eventually she learned what I like and now she doesn't have to ask. I like coming here. I will continue to see Corinna at Wax Poetic for as long as I can. She has a website to book appointments on which is very convenient for me to use. She also has a referral program where you get 20% off for you and a friend you refer. She also has a rewards system. You get a point for every dollar you spend on services. They are all numbered, which makes it easy to locate the one you need. The building is locked at 6pm, so if you have an appointment after hours, you have to have a code to get in, or someone has to come let you in. It says that you can "check in" online and be sent a code or a staff member will come retrieve you, which I did, but did not receive a code. I was notified that my staff member was notified of my arrival and would be with me shortly. So I suggest making an appointment before 6pm to prevent any confusion/wait. I easily found the suite (2012), which just as an FYI: if the door is closed, it is locked, and they are with a client. Amouriona was my aesthetician and there is one other person that works with her, but as it is a single suite that can only manage 1 client at a time, they have alternate schedules. She was very nice and did not make me feel uncomfortable at all. She asked about allergies, etc before placing any products afterward, and provided advice on aftercare. I have been getting routine waxes for a couple of years now, but I will say that this was less painful than my usual experiences, which is appreciated! Overall, it was a good experience other than the confusion at the beginning with the building being locked and I would go again.

I've had an eyebrow complex ever since the first time I plucked them and my dad's first response was, "where did your eyebrows go?!" Anyway, I was a little nervous when I first got there because it's in a residential area and I couldn't find street parking and it was also a little difficult to find the shop, but I spotted the sign and pulled into the gravel lot I thought would just be for residents but there a little signs in a few spots that let you know you can park there for the eye candy location. That was a huge relief because I always hate trying to find parking downtown. The shop is in a little cottage tucked behind the larger buildings so it's super quiet and a really cute building. Courtney was who I had the appointment with and she was really nice and professional. I told her that I had never had the luxury and full eyebrows and she said she'd take care of everything and I laid down and instantly relaxed. The waxing was quick and not too painful she did a great job and she plucked the few strays and shaped them perfectly. The only time I'd had my eyebrows tinted was in England and it wasn't anything like this. My eyebrows were sharp! Once i washed my face and got the dye of the skin under my brow it was perfect. It was a pretty drastic change for me but everyone thinks my brows look great and really accentuate my eyes. I couldn't be happier with the service and I will definitely go back.
