After trimming the trees to my approval, he returned with another truck and chipper , and cleaned up all the palm fronds and husks. I live with my sister in her home and heard the altercation. I also own a business, and I was…read moreshocked at what I was hearing. How could a business owner say these things to customers over a misunderstanding? He had no empathy, compassion, or understanding at all regarding what happened. My sister came into my room asking for advice because she was confused, asking if it was normal for a worker to quote a different price even though the owner quoted a higher price. I told her that if that was the case, maybe they were individual workers working with him. She then let the man start working. About thirty minutes later, maybe more, Matthew's worker came. He was also late, which is important to note. My kind sister said, "Let me call Matthew, I'm sure he'll understand." That man showed absolutely no understanding whatsoever. In the business world, you start to recognize who genuinely cares about helping people and who only cares about money. From what I witnessed, Matthew came across as money hungry. He leads his workers not by working alongside them, but by having them do the labor while he takes a cut. I was splitting the cost of the weed removal, so I was also a paying customer in this situation. My sister kindly offered Robert food, gas money, and water. I was honestly upset at her for even offering after how rude and demanding Matthew was being. A real business owner would not demand gas money from customers over a misunderstanding. Business owners understand that gas is part of operating a business and is also a tax write-off. The fact that he continued demanding gas money instead of simply handling the misunderstanding professionally was extremely unprofessional. He never once said, "Don't worry about the gas." He was angry from start to finish. My sister came back into the house asking if I thought I should step in, but she said she was trying to be respectful and believed Matthew would understand once she explained the misunderstanding. I told her she was being too nice. Instead, he treated her like she intentionally caused the situation and then continued demanding more money. Don't support a business whose characteristics show firsthand how they truly are. This man heavily uses his past military service to make his business look trustworthy -- "veteran-owned," "military police," etc. But then states his military background has nothing to do with his business. So why advertise it so heavily in the first place? It comes across as trust-based marketing -- using military status to gain credibility, relatability, emotional trust, support, and goodwill from customers. As someone from a military family, and prior service, that was especially disappointing to witness because the professionalism being advertised did not match the behavior we experienced. Meanwhile, Robert himself was actually respectful, calm, and understanding throughout the entire interaction. Ironically, the worker showed far more professionalism than the owner did. At the end of the day, misunderstandings happen. What matters is how a business owner handles them. Unfortunately, the way Matthew handled this situation left an extremely negative impression on our household, and based on this experience, I would not recommend this business to others.

I was unable to verify the company's licensing information, so I encourage anyone considering hiring them to ask for proof of any required business licenses and insurance before agreeing to any work. You can also independently verify a business through your state's contractor licensing board, the Secretary of State's business registry, your local county or city business licensing office, and consumer resources such as the Better Business Bureau. Additionally, always request a written estimate. Based on my experience, he was unprofessional, not timely, and had a significant anger issue. Not only this but he tried FORCING me to pay HIS WORKER gas money. He stated "only $5??? $20." I was only offered cash or Zelle as payment methods and was not provided with an invoice. If you decide to hire this company, verify any required licenses and insurance beforehand. Needless to say, I reported my concerns to the appropriate authorities. I believe customers deserve transparency, professionalism, and a business that complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

Although the roots were difficult to locate and it was a hit and miss type thing, Eric was able to locate the culprit roots that were causing the damage. He had to remove a few large bricks near the porch and then he was able to dig down far enough to cut and remove the roots. He then replaced the bricks and put the dirt back in and the lifted part was now level. Eric also trimmed 3 trees. He climbed each tree, located branches that were bad and cut a lot that were bad or causing problems. Before cutting anything, he made a visual check of several branches for signs of disease or fungus and removed them Overall, Eric did more than he planned for the same price he quoted. I would most definitely hire Eric again.

Later, he was able to come over to our house for an in-person look at what needed to be done, and his quote was very reasonable, so we signed then and there. He came the very next day, right after the rain stopped, to start work, and he completed everything in about 3 hours. He filled in the holes, cleaned everything up, and left our front yard looking good. Now, there were a total of 8 stumps to take out. One of them was a particularly gnarly thing that was squatting grumpily between a sprinkler and our water valves. I was pretty sure that stump had already punched through a sprinkler line underground...either that, or I figured taking it out might mean breaking a sprinkler or valve since that stump was just so close to everything. Eric brought me over to take a look - and that stump had been so *carefully* removed. Amazingly, the roots hadn't punctured through anything, and Eric had done some very precision work on getting that stump out so that sprinklers, valves, pipes, and wires were all untouched. It was impressive stuff. Oh and he also trimmed our overgrown tree, and it looks nice again. We'll definitely call on him again in the future for more work.

I was in search of a currently licensed and bonded reliable, reasonably priced, tree trimming…read morecompany to tackle nine (09) trees in our front and backyard that needed a lot of TLC. I started researching on Yelp and read a lot of great reviews for several local companies. But one company stood out just a bit more which I decided to inquire with: Golden Oak Tree Care. At first I used the Yelp messaging to initiate contact with Reynaldo, the owner, but soon switched to text messaging. He was very quick to respond to my inquiries, needs and pricing after I sent (upon his request) photographs of the nine trees that needed attention. We agreed upon a very reasonable price, then set up a date and time for him and his crew to perform the work. My wife was home so she met the two gentleman that work with Reynaldo. They arrived at the designated timeframe and were very cordial and polite according to my wife. They quickly went to our backyard to prep for their trimming. Reynaldo arrived shortly afterwards but before I arrived home from work. Upon arrival I met him and his crew. All three were really cool and answered all of my questions regarding the types of services they do besides tree care and what they do not do. That was really great news for me since I have several more landscaping projects I can request Reynaldo and his crew to help me out with. Reynald inquired with me if I would like my shrubbery trimmed as well. After deciding which shrubs needed attention, he indicated the additional amount to our original agreed upon amount, to which I agreed to and requested he take care of our shrubs. Again, his pricing is very fair and reasonable.
