The reason I felt I needed to review MD property services was that they take zero accountability for mistakes that happen with their poor service. They have to stay on their schedule and won't use a realist point of view. (common sense) This winter MD property services has only cleared the snow from the drive and sidewalks twice this winter. It was like pulling teeth in order to get them out here to clear the snow. While clearing the snow at midnight (low visibility), the overexerted employee backed into one of our residences personnel truck, leaving a significant dent! MD property services gave us the runaround about the truck dent for a couple of months then replied with " we would never have an employee out after dark clearing snow"..... Night time is when the snow is always cleared before the city takes life in the morning for obvious reasons. MD property services takes zero ownership with their mistakes and shortcomings! She was great to work with, gave a competitive price for a quality product, and did it with a much shorter turn around time than most other places. I was used to the service of big box stores so my expectations weren't high, but it was so refreshing to receive the attention of a smaller store. The carpet I purchased from Summers Interiors is much better than the rest of my house and the home is brand new. The tile looks amazing and adds a much better touch than what is in the rest of the house. The only reason I gave four stars is because during carpet installation the walls were a little marked up by the installers. We were in the middle of a renovation project and took a break to head down there to order carpet. Because we were under a serious time crunch and the weather was not very cooperative we did not have time to go home and change first so we came in jeans and shirts that had some paint on them and looked a little tired. The lady who greeted us (after some research I now know she is the owner) slowly looked us up and down and said she'd find somebody to help us. You'd think we were bedraggled orphans or homeless people the way she looked at and spoke to us. Another employee came out and was somewhat helpful. As we were looking at samples and laying things down to look at them, the owner came over to the table where we were working with another client and pretty much just pushed us out of the way, talking loudly over us and spreading out samples. Both of them were extremely rude. It was like we were not even there. We quietly took the quote they gave us and walked out. I spent the next morning calling around for a better deal and nicer people who don't discriminate against you based solely on appearances. In addition to needing budget carpet for this property we were also intending to order a lot of higher end products for a second property we are working on but after the way we were treated, I will take my business ANYWHERE but here.

The basement renovation included a walkout, kitchen, laundry and office area. We also needed a custom load-bearing beam created since a wall was removed near the kitchen area. Permits were quick and smooth. It was estimated to be a 3-month project, but finished in 2.5 months, just before winter. Bryant, John, Reagan and the rest of the team were very easy to work. We especially appreciated weekly communication which indicated the work that would be focused on the next week. Pro-Worx were clean, professional and we highly recommend them. In fact, we'll be using them again in the future.

Nice showroom and seemingly nice guys. But that is where things stop. I was a contractor in Arizona…read morefor 24 years. Deposits were required, but usually around 30%. I was a little surprised that they require payment in full before the order is placed. Now I know why. They do not have their own install crews. They sub everything out and stand behind absolutely NOTHING! The LVT crew they hired got started and reached a point where they didn't know how to finish. The installer said he had to go to another job and would be back to finish in a few days. He demanded to be paid for the extras before he left. I called Knotty Alder and they said any extras must be paid. I told they weren't done yet and he hadn't finished the "extras" anyhow. Well, I paid him and the installer never came back. The company sent out a different guy who said they screwed everything up and the guy was a tile installer who had never done LVT before. Right after placing the order, we decided not to carpet an area in the basement. I called John and he said there were no refunds after the order was placed. I said I understand about the carpet, but the installer supplies the pad and they will not be doing the labor. He said we would have to see. They kept the extra padding and no refund on the labor, even after being charged several hundred for the LVT "extras" that were never even done (I ended up removing and installing the toilets myself even though I paid for that. John said it states in the contract that they don't do toilets. But the installer was fine to do it, but he took the money and never returned). After you pay them, they have you do all the calling and scheduling with the installer even though you have no contract with them. The installers drag out fixing the problems for months at a time and when they do come out, they normally say they don't have the materials or tools needed, or they need to get something through Knotty Alder. Knotty Alder will charge you for anything it takes to finish the job, even if it was supposed to be included and already paid for, When we couldn't get the installers back I texted pictures to John and asked if he could get someone out to finish. He would just ask for more pictures. After a year of this he told my wife "sorry, the warranty period has expired." So it appears that the strategy is to charge in full before placing an order, don't take any responsibility for their subs (they were not my subs), let the subs take advantage of their clients, do shoddy work, charge for extras they don't do, tell you to schedule everyone on your own and then after you can't get things resolved they say "too bad, your year is up!" We are still trying to get the installers to finish things and we have offered to pay them. Same results as before, wrong tool or don't have this or that... In some ways I think Knotty Alder has thrown the installers under the bus. We bought the very best LVT flooring they carry. Not only were there install issues, but the edges are delaminating and turning up. Knotty Alder has there money and they wash their hands of EVERYTHING. The installer didn't purchase the material, so it appears they have no leverage or support from the manufacturer. So we are stuck in the middle with no help or support from the only people we had a contract with and they take NO responsibility after the payment in full is made. In the end, I realize they have a nice showroom, but they are not the "nice guys" I thought. The way they have treated us is totally disgraceful and unethical. I wouldn't recommend them to ANYONE based on our experience.
