I have a 2009 Chevy HHR. I've driven it all over the place. Mainly to work in Port Arthur. Then, after I retired, I used it as a Waitr delivery driver for almost a year.
It had ALWAYS made noises. Rattling, clanking when I hit a bump. You know, usual stuff. Well, it got to the point where I couldn't hear myself think. I brought it to Alton's because my wife recalled one of her relatives had worked there years ago and said, "They are good people". My wife is a good judge of people.
I called and spoke with Miss Susie. She said to bring it in and they would take a look at it. A day later, she called and said it was the right wheel bearing and the control arm. When she quoted the repair price, I wasn't surprised, but money was tight so we passed. I told her I would pick it up the next day. I asked how much for checking it out. She said nothing. I was surprised.
Well, we pooled our resources and got the money! I called her and authorized the repairs.
Less than a week later, she called and said it was ready. She also stated that the price she quoted for the wheel bearing as too high and adjusted it. Since the cost was a lot lower, they replaced both front wheel bearings!
When I got there, I was ready to pay the full quoted price, butas it turned out it was a few dollars less!
Since I've gotten my car back, it rides and sounds like a brand new car!
I applaud Alton's and highly recommend them for their professionalism and honesty. read more
