The bid was very competitive, even with a small increase due to some unforeseen water and termite damage to the wood and broken tiles that had to be replaced. They also put in new "Bird Stop" to keep out nexting birds, new metal vents and gulley, and concrete end patches to maintain compliance with any HOA rules and neighborhood standards. Finally, entire tile roof was power washed to remove years of algae and give the roof a like new appearance. Original concrete tile did not need replacing, except for those that were broken. Repeatedly his name came up...just in talking to people who had new roofs. He does not have past customers; he has raving fans. People loved him and his pricing. I am among them now because he smoked all the other quotes, came and did the job quickly and without grief and is just the nicest guy. His entire crew was great...the kinda crew you go buy beers for. LOL We had termite damage and had to replace a great deal of wood. I had the entire new roof treated with Bora-Care, then tented the house for fumigation before using primer (to seal in the Bora-Care) and installing the underlayment. Oscar was completely supportive of this request and worked with our pest control contractor, returning to complete the roof a week later. Some roofers didn't wanna do this and told me it was not necessary but that's what I wanted so I could try to prevent the return of termites.
