My chihuahua doesn't warm up to many people, and after having a negative experience with Fairfax Pet Care, I was very cautious when finding a new walking service. Kim has built a relationship with both us and our doggos leaving us to feel confident that they are in good hands. Kim and our walkers have taken the time to get to know our babies and give us daily reports (including photos) of their visit. I highly recommend!

Update: 1/8/20 There has been a recent shift with Kim's…read morecompany, and while some of my original review remains accurate, I want to update it to reflect the current state of things. Kim's still provides a wonderful service - the employees seem to actively care about my dog, and I receive daily email reviews of the walks. Recently, however, prices have increased (they are still within normal limits for dog walking in this area, but no longer the great deal they once were.) There has also been a fairly substantial shift in attitude. Kim's is no longer accommodating to changes in schedule, and the warm, friendly tone I'd come to expect in communication with Kim herself has disappeared. I still absolutely trust Kim and her staff to care for my dog, and plan to continue using their service, as my dog truly likes the people who walk him. I am sad to have to update my glowing review, but with the recent changes, they are not what they once were. Original Review: Kim's has been walking my dog for two years now. Their rates are incredibly reasonable. Kim herself is wonderful, and made time to come see me 'off hours' to meet me and my dog - she was also the only dogwalker I could find in the area who was willing to work with an at times aggressive dog (every other company I contacted immediately said 'no, we don't do that.') My dog, who is very shy and scared around new people, took to her immediately, and was loving on her within about ten minutes. At first, she walked him exclusively, since he did so well with her. I was nervous when she asked if she could try him with someone else, but it went very well. I think there are three different people who walk him now, and he's never had an incident with any of them. She is thoughtful and accommodating - I'm a teacher and she is very understanding when I need to reschedule or cancel last minute due to sick days or snow days. The people she hires are high-quality and I feel so comfortable leaving my dog in their care (I've had very negative experiences with boarding other animals with other conpanies before, but I never worry when he's with Kim.) I really can't recommend them enough - they will look after your pet as though s/he is their own, they are professional and responsible, and leaving my dog in Kim's gives me such peace of mind.

How could anyone cat sit for me, if they can't find my keys? Now I guess I'll have to pay to get new locks on my doors since I have no idea what happened to my keys. They also have my security system fob and that's missing as well. Thankfully all I need to do with it is change the code which I've done, but the fob is expensive and will have to be replaced. I strongly advise anyone considering this service to look elsewhere. If they can't find your keys, your cats are doomed.

I recently left my 11 year old cat for a few days while I was traveling out of state. He doesn't…read morelike boarding but I hoped having his own room, not being around dogs at the vet, etc. would make him less stressed. He came home and for the past two days has been vomiting and had diarrhea. It seems either because the people stressed him out or because he caught something there that he has gotten sick with, and now I have to see if my vet can fit him in today. Furthermore I know the report cards are misleading because his second day supposedly he had stool, urine, and was eating but when I picked him up his chart said he had only eaten once in four days. The Webcam was also turned off several times, so now I'm worried that he was already sick there and they were hiding that from me. Especially considering the price, I 100% *do not recommend* this place at all. These people are dishonest and not worthy of your money.

Rachel of Broad Run Pet Care caused our family unnecessary emotional and financial distress while…read morewe were 800 miles away on vacation, feel compelled to warn others of our service experience. Owner Rachel sent us an email as soon as we arrived at the vacation rental alerting us to a violent fight between 2 of our 3 dogs (see my profile pic), and immediately gave us notice she was terminating her service due to "personal fear of harm or professional liability" not clear of exact reason. She did give us limited options to take our large Cane Corso 7 month old puppy to a kennel or call our emergency contact to care for all dogs. She then pressured us to make a decision with 30 mins not giving us reasonable time to sort out a backup plan. I gave her final instructions to leave by first please secure our dogs in separate bedrooms with plenty of food and water realizing it would likely be at least 24 to 48 hours before any backup home dog care service could be found. My wife and daughter were very distraught to the point of ready to cancel vacation and return home the next morning, forfeiting a full beach house rent fee. Regarding the fight, not that urgent because we could tell from pics it was nothing more than we'd experienced with only minor injury to the smaller Boston Terrier. We were aware the two dogs were not always getting along and gave Rachel specific instructions how to prevent confrontations and handle it should a fight occur. For safety of all during her initial interview, I even demonstrated how to pull larger puppy away by hind legs or use blanket. She did not follow instructions nor did she use best professional protocol for breaking up the dog fight. This termination notice all occurred 8:00 PM on Sat and I was very lucky on such short notice to find another local replacement sitter called "Make My Day Please, LLC". This new company's owners are 110% faithful dog lovers who fully understood our urgent situation with us being 800 miles from home and stepped up to fully care for our dogs until we returned, absolute true professionals. Due to not having been introduced to our dogs in advance, MMDP approached them especially our larger Cane Corso puppy with slow caution then understood she showed no aggressive behavior and just keep her separate from the Boston she'd fought with, all was well only received glowing daily reports until we returned.

Rachel came over and met our baby girl & got the 411 as to where the key was hidden how much food to give her, fill out forms & discuss times-we only had her come once a day but she could have come twice-etc. She was very professional and conscientious & I could tell that she would be great with our girl. SHE WAS EXCELLENT!! She sent us texts with pictures of her giving our girl love & attention or just an update every day! She also left a VERY detailed daily log which was wonderful to come home to. Rachel also took in our mail, pulled in our trash can after the trash was taken, and watered our plants. I could tell just by petting my cat that she had taken good care of her by the feel of her fur! AND she is super responsive-I tacked on another day at the last minute. AND she is inexpensive & organized yet flexible. It was such a relief to have such a great experience with a complete stranger. THANKS, RACHEL!!!!
