I had a recent service visit for a ceiling fan that stopped working. The technician inspected my…read morecircuit breaker panel and removed the plate on the wall switch. After that inspection he refused to continue diagnosing the problem unless I paid either for an annual membership (over $300) or a one‑time diagnostic fee (over $200). I declined, the technician called his manager, and the manager instructed him not to proceed. No fees were charged. The technician apologized that this policy was not disclosed when I scheduled the appointment. This was unprofessional and felt like a bait‑and‑switch. A diagnostic visit should not turn into a hard sell on the doorstep without clear disclosure up front. I will not use Chesapeake Electric again and I would not recommend them. They were a huge waste of time.

BLUF: Easy to schedule, friendly and communicative electrician and work performed as expected…read more I loathe hiring anyone to do anything because people are so unreliable. But frankly, I am a former DIYer who has gotten really lazy so when it came time to install a junction box and ceiling fan in a guest bedroom I called Chesapeake Electric. Phew, much to my relief, Chesapeake Electric was great to work with - scheduling the job was easy, the electrician showed up on time, he was very communicative, the work performed was great and it was easy to pay. Also, the electrician did a great job cleaning up and hauling away the trash from the ceiling fan. It feels good to finally have a ceiling fan in our guest bedroom and to have a reliable electrician in our contacts.

After some research, we chose KV Electric, and I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions we made. From the initial consultation to the final touches, the service we received from Ken, Brooke and the entire KV team was nothing short of excellent. From the moment we reached out to KV Electric, Ken and Brooke demonstrated a high level of professionalism and responsiveness. They took the time to understand our vision for the renovation and provided valuable insights that helped us refine our plans. Their willingness to listen and adapt to our needs made the entire process feel collaborative rather than transactional. This personal touch set the stage for a successful partnership. During the renovation, Ken's team was incredibly efficient. They arrived on time each day and worked diligently to ensure that every aspect of the electrical installation was handled expertly. Their attention to detail was impressive; they didn't just meet the standards but consistently exceeded them. Whether it was upgrading the lighting to improve visibility or ensuring that all safety protocols were strictly followed, their commitment to quality was evident in every task they undertook. Communication was another strong suit of KV Electric. Ken and Brooke kept us informed at every stage of the renovation. They provided regular updates on progress, addressed any concerns we had promptly, and were always available for questions. This transparency not only kept us in the loop but also gave us peace of mind knowing that we were in capable hands. Their ability to communicate effectively made the renovation process far less stressful than we had anticipated. Moreover, the final results of the renovation speak volumes about KV Electric's expertise. The upgraded electrical systems have made our car wash more efficient, and enhances the overall customer experience. We've already received positive feedback from our clients about the changes, and we attribute a significant part of that success to Team's hard work and dedication. They transformed our vision into reality, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. In conclusion, if you're looking for a reliable and skilled electrical contractor for your renovation project, I wholeheartedly recommend KV Electric. Ken and his team provided us with exceptional service, professionalism, and a commitment to quality that is rare to find. Our car wash has never looked better, and we owe a large part of that to their expertise. Thank you, KV Electric, for making our renovation a resounding success!

I used this contractor for a new construction project. and while the work passed county…read moreinspections, the finishing of things was what left much to be desired. Kevin and his dad are personable and professional in communication, and although w some delay, always responded to my inquiries. The last part of the project took them a good month to finish and several calls to remind them of that part. Problem is: a year after all is done the GFCI outlets in the house keep tripping at all times, random times. This morning no outlet in the kitchen works...no toaster, no coffee maker. As soo. As I turn them on, they trip. Tried 4 different devices: electric water kettle, toaster, toaster oven and dishwasher. Nothing. About 10 month ago they came to check on the situation (after weeks of calls) and not only they said all was ok, they tracked mud on my new main bedroom carpet. Additional Emails and calls have been ignored. December 2nd 2023.

Won't service Generac generators that they didn't originally install! Really?!?!…read more I found CDS on the Generac website as one of the local authorized service providers for Generac. We have a large whole-house Generac unit for the house we recently bought and I called CDS to set up the annual maintenance. However, from the very first words out of her mouth, the rude, snappy, and curt receptionist who took my call lost the business for CDS. Her negative tone and apparent unwillingness to do the basics of her job continued to decline over the next five minutes of that call. I gave her the model and serial number of our unit and she said it was too old to look up. I told her the date on the unit was 2006, and she said our 2006 generator was likely too old to be serviced...Ha!!...and her tone further worsened when she asked if CDS had installed it originally. We bought the house last year--how would I know who installed it nearly 20 years ago? What service company worth its salt would refuse to work on their designated brand just because they had not done the original install. In sharp contrast to this disappointing call, I then called A-to-Z Contracting and provided the same model and serial number, they looked it up in an instant and told me what a great unit I had. A-to-Z scheduled a service call right then at a cost for the annual full service that was less than CDS. I Wonder if the owner of CDS knows how much business this salty employee is costing them? Recommend you stay away from CDS--what other areas are they cutting corners on if their first line interface with the customer is such a poorly managed employee?

Our experience has been disappointing. We called CDS because we had a longstanding problem with…read moreovercrank faults in our whole-house generator. The service in March fixed the problem temporarily, but very soon thereafter we again got the same overcrank fault. They came again in May and this time they identified the underlying problem. (They recommended someone else to do the repair, which is now done.) To our surprise, they have insisted on charging us full price for both service calls even though it seems likely that the problem existed and they missed it the first time.
