Her studio is definitely small as she works out of her home - that became a problem with my train. It was such a small space that I didn't realize how long my train really was. After I took it home I realized I wanted some of the train removed which she happily did, so it all worked out. Also my dress was strapless and did not budge all night. Would very much recommend!

Love, love, love Ms. Barbara!…read more She does amazing work. I have never been disappointed. She did a bridesmaid dress for me, my wedding dress and my son's suit. All of them fit perfectly. She has also done a few small jobs like replace/change buttons, fix seams and lengthen pants. Her prices are reasonable for the quality of work she does. I would have paid more if necessary. Her turn around time is great. She delivered the final product right on time or slightly early. Thank you Ms. Barbara!

I am writing this review a few years late but I need to share my experience with Barbara because…read moreshe and her business deserve to be recognized. I was desperately looking for a last minute alteration for a bridesmaid dress before getting on a plane the next night for a wedding. The first seamstress completely missed different areas on the dress. I had a friend pick it up for me and I didn't realize until the night before my trip... YIKES I was in the midst of leaving a very tearful voicemail at Simply Barbara after hours (around 9pm) hoping for a call back the next day when instead, someone picked up the phone. I explained the situation through tears and Barbara helped calm me on the phone and told me she was still in the shop working on her daughter's wedding gown, but if I could come now she would see what she could do. I arrived sometime around 9:30pm. Barbara was so patient and comforting and did the alterations that night while I sat on the floor watching her and sharing stories about our lives. When it came time to pay, I was ready to pay any amount because that's what she deserved. Instead, she charged me even less than the first seamstress. I will never forget her kindness. Thank you Barbara!!

Not 5 minutes after I put it on, my puppy jumped up on me to play, and ended up biting a hole right in the middle of my chest. THIS IS WHY I CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS!!! In addition to just being bummed about what happened, I am also heading to the mountains to ski tomorrow, and was planning on getting a lot of use out of my new sweater. Jeanne responded to a post I made on Facebook, looking for someone who might be able to fix the hole. I dropped the sweater to her asking if there was any way I could possibly get it fixed same-day. I had the sweater back in less than 2 hours, and unless you're looking for it, I really don't think you can notice the repair. Price was reasonable, especially considering the quick turnaround. Thanks, Jeanne! I will definitely be back!

A very challenging fabric but the work was careful, precise, and complete with no damage to a fabric that misbehaves at the first opportunity. More amazing was the remodel of a skirt from 1939--my great aunt wore it to a wedding that year and I bet it cost a fortune (that would be about $50 in those days). I needed 3" in the waist. Vintage silk and chiffon over-skirt. Layers! No extra fabric and seams in chiffon are the very devil. Perfection!
