If you go to a shop like this you are either a) to busy to do the fixing yourself or b) have NO…read moreclue how to do it. I am of the latter group. The service was down right rude, and left me feeling like a jerk for stepping foot in the shop to even ask for their help. I found another alteration shop that was 100x more helpful, and I don't care if they cost more. Its worth it to be treated kindly.

I hate to do this because she was a nice lady; however I didn't get the service I paid for and I…read morehave to take my uniforms elsewhere to redo the sewing. I called ahead and asked if she was able to sew name tapes and rank on Army uniforms. She told me yes, I normally go to an Army post but there isn't one close. I went to drop off two uniforms, she seemed confused and I had to show her the direction of the rank. I left nervous but I was trying to be positive. She told me it would take a week, which was fine because I wasn't in a hurry. I returned a week later. The name tapes look fine, but the rank was very wonky. I let her know that is not how it's supposed to look and showed her on the uniform I was wearing. She had an extra row of thread and the rank is not centered and the square is more like a rectangle (I measured) and it is not the same size as the second uniform. I had also offered before leaving the first time to leave a uniform so she had an example and she declined. After telling her it was wrong, she told me why she did it that way; however it is still not Army standard and yes it makes a difference. She just explained again why she did it and did not offer to fix it. At that point I gave up and decided to stay cordial and move on. I paid $52 for poor service. It is possible she may be good at other things but not military items, which is fine had she said that on the phone when I asked her. The sewing will end up costing as much as the actual uniform. If you are military I do not recommend using her services for uniforms.
