If you want your clothes in a timely manner DON'T come here. I dropped off my single dress and a top on April 19th and I was told my clothes would be ready in one week. I returned on April 28th to find the clothes hadn't been touched. I decided to give it another chance and they told me it would be ready by Friday. I came today, May 2nd to find they still hadn't been touched. I had to wait for additional 2 hours to get my clothes. On top of all of this, she tried to charge me MORE than the original quote. When I asked for a discount, Mai tried to make me feel guilty by mentioning she had worked non-stop to fix my dress. MIND YOU, she had 2 entire weeks to work on the same. If she was able to do it in the two hours of me sitting there, it could've been done by the first time I stopped by. All in all, I am sure there are more reliable tailors in Atlanta. read more

I had a wonderful experience here and waited till everything was complete before writing my review. I'm very satisfied with the work that Mai did. She is an absolutely wonderful person and very personable. Her shop has been around for about 20 years at the same location. The shop is nice and quaint. You can definitely tell that it's one of its kind and not part of a chain. I called around to a couple of the alteration shops in the area and she was actually the nicest and it didn't surprise me that she was just as nice in person. Not to mention she's awesome and very competent at what she does. I could not get the other alteration shops to do a simple adjustment to my dress to make it fit, all I heard were excuses from them and the one that said they may be able to do was going to charge an arm and a leg. With Mai, the moment I walked in she said, I can do this for you! I wanted to hug her lol. I knew it wasn't complicated to just get a dress "let out". I've had it done before else where. I highly recommend going to Mai's shop. She's great, very affordable, and fast. Got my dress let out in just a week. read more

My uniforms were with the owner for more than 3 months. I never received a call that they were ready. I would call with no answer, go by, the establishment would be closed. The last time I went by there was a sign on the door that she would be out of the country for a month. I finally make it by when she is open today, and my uniforms still were not done; not one new stitch, a cut, nothing. Our old family seamstress recently closed her shop and recommended Mai to us - we had been with Agnes for 30+ years so were nervous to switch but Mai has done an outstanding job with everything we have brought her! I had two bridesmaid dresses that needed serious, time sensitive overhauls and Mai completed both of them within two weeks for an extremely reasonable price. I especially appreciate that she knows how clothes are supposed to hang and fit, so even when I bring something in that I think is gapping around the sleeves, she can put two pins in the back and fix the problem I didn't even know how to describe. Best alterations place in Atlanta! I've been coming here for 5+ years. The women who owns the shop is always bright & friendly when I come in & she remembered me from 4 years ago when she altered my senior prom dress. She also did my jr prom dress- both princess Cinderella dressed with 10+ layers of tole & many many sequins. Both turned out perfectly! Today I dropped of a bridesmaid dress 4 sizes to big- this will not be a simple hem, since it has a corset & is all a beautiful flowey fabric. This place is the worst! The Asian woman who runs this shop has a nasty attitude! Here's my story... I bought 5 pairs of dress pants from an on-line store but inadvertently got them about an inch too long. I didn't want to return them and wait for a new shipment all over again since I needed them for my upcoming business trips. So, I decided to try this place for my alterations since I saw it was right across from Whole Foods (no relevance lol). I took in the 5 pairs of dress pants. She took the measurements and then I left. I got a call 5 days later (approx 6:30 pm, even though they close at 7 pm) stating that they were ready to be picked up. I went in and paid $60. She gave me one specific pair to try on. I did and advised her that it was too short since she took off about 2 inches. I had to leave for business travels the very next morning, so I took them with me (I needed to wear them on my trip) and told her that I'd be back the following week to get them corrected. She agreed. The following week, I took them back in and told her that they were too short the last time and wanted the length to be an inch longer. She started arguing with me, and giving me all sorts of reasons why she thinks they're long enough. She even told me that I shouldn't "sag my pants"...mind you, I'm an afro-american business professional. The argument got so heated that I literally had to tell her, "Look! I'm the one wearing these - not you, and I need them an inch longer!" She reluctantly complied. About 1 week later, I went back to check on them (I didn't get a call this time). They were ready...so I tried on each one, and was satisfied with the lengths. Now for the kicker....she told me I couldn't take them unless I paid her another $60. What?!?!?!?! I continuously expressed that I shouldn't have to pay again since the job wasn't done right the very first time...and she knew that I'd be back to get them corrected. Perhaps there was a language barrier, but I got nowhere with this. She then threatened to call the police on me. She almost brought the 'negro' out of me!!! In the end, I paid the additional $60, and took my pants...NEVER to patronize that business ever again. I don't do well with unscrupulous establishments!
