I had two coat that had damage. They were both designer brands and favorites and I assumed I would have to throw them out. After months of them sitting in my closet, I thought about taking them to someone to repair. One was a leather jacket that had a whole panel that was worn out and pealing. The other had been too close to a hot grill and brunet a hole in one of the pockets, which has special stitching and was folded over. After talking to a couple of shops, I trusted Manuel. He was fair on the price and confident (but did not over promise) on what he could do. A few days later I can back and I was amazed. Not only did it have it done when he said he would, but it was better than he promised. I ended up paying more than he asked just out of appreciation for the excellent work. We went on a Sunday and went prom dress shopping It was around 220 in the afternoon her dress had a long train I needed altered and said I could pick it up the the next day but Manuel said no come back in 1 1/2 hrs and I'll have it done he was very busy and took the time he was absolutely amazing professional and such a cool DUDE he did an outstanding job the dress turned out beautiful. Manuel is great at what he does! He came highly recommended to me by a girlfriend who gets her gowns and dresses tailored by him. I was looking to get my dress hemmed and the straps adjusted. He took his time with the whole process, asking for my opinion/preferences on every adjustment. Patient with me as I tested each "look" before deciding on the final alteration. I was so surprised with the fast turnaround time! He said he could have it ready for me that same day. Luckily, I don't need it for another two weeks so I agreed to pick it up from him next week. Smooth process from start to finish. He was explaining to me how the pandemic had hit him hard since he depended on prom season in April/May/June and had to let go of two of his workers. Despite this, he still carried a smile on his face and expressed hope that next year would be better. I loved seeing that optimism and hope in him. They did a great job with my 2 wedding-related dresses, especially for the amazing price. I felt compelled to write a review because when I went to pick up my dresses, I simply said "I'm here to pick up my dresses". They had NO IDEA what that meant. The first guy was confused and called the main guy, who came 5 minutes later. He was visibly dumbfounded. He made it very clear to me in his facial expressions that he did not know what I meant when I said "i'm here to pick up my dresses". I was SO CONFUSED why that was confusing to everyone, and immediately showed my receipt/ticket he gave me when I stopped by a week earlier. It was then he immediately knew what i was talking about and got me my dresses right away. He was almost apologetic he didn't know what I was talking about before. I don't think it was a language barrier because he understood everything else I was saying. But that left me so confused....can someone tell me is there another way I'm supposed to tell a tailor I'm there to retrieve and pay for my clothes I left there a week earlier after they fixed it?? Location is a little odd- it's basically located in an upstairs outdoor garage looking area, no AC (changing into my dress was miserable) BUT I needed my gown hemmed the day before and Manuel was able to do so in less than 24 hours. It was done perfectly and was super cheap! Yes it's cash only but it's Santee Alley hello, and there are ATMs everywhere so it's not a problem. read more

I've been here twice. This place is on the second floor and have a nice open area. Nothing fancy but gets the job done. There's plenty of chairs while you wait. The guy that did the alteration for my dress finished it in under an hour.
