This walk through apple orchard was phenomenal. Very well taken care of and clean. The prices were great, you pick all flavors of apples for the same price. $15 for a peck $28 for a bushel. 47 different species of apples. Come with a wagon, those bags get heavy.

Quite a bit were on the ground, but there was a good amount still on the trees when I went in mid October. I got the apple cider brat, and it was great! However, I wish that there were more activities and that there were more fresh products (like fresh, warm donuts). Also, beware of all the wasps!

Recently had an adult child moved to the area and I was looking for some fall activities. There was plenty of parking out front when I arrived on Monday probably around 10 AM/10:30 AM. There was a small cashier station out front. A lady was short brown hair was explaining how the process works and that you would buy a choice of two different size bags. I chose a smaller bag for $22. I was shown the map and I took a picture of it and headed out to the Orchards. Everything is clearly marked and the paths are also well marked however, if you have any mobility challenges, this might be an issue for you. I don't know if there's any tractors that travel out there. There are wagons for younger kids, etc. I went all the way out past the final orchard to the Honeycrisp. I was surprised to see quite a bit of apple still on the tree. Please follow the directions on how to pick them because you do not want to damage the trees. I got a bunch of varieties which all tasted delicious. I then walked through the little store behind the initial cash register. They have already pre-picked apples, frozen cider donuts, and fresh cider for sale. On the day I arrived. They were already sold out of the fresh cider donuts and they were on their way, but I was already departing the location. Before I left, however, I opted to do the you pick raspberries and cherry tomatoes, which was fun although a bit arduous for the raspberries. Everything actually tasted delicious. I would definitely come back for other activities and of course, supporting local farm. I think this is really good for all ages, etc.. I did see a mix of families and young adults on this visit. Be advised of the closing times I believe it closed at 1 PM on Monday. It was just a fun experience.

I loved all the extra challenges within the main corn maze, like the scavenger hunt and maze within a maze. I'll say, doing the maze in the dark was a lot more of a challenge. I wish I had brought a headlamp, flashlight, or portable phone charger for my phone flashlight. However, the stars and sky were beautiful at night. We couldn't stop looking up! I recommend buying tickets online, they were cheaper than at the door. You could easily add them to your Apple wallet or phone. When we arrived, we walked right up to the check-in booth and staff scanned them very quickly. Off of this, the staff were absolutely wonderful. They were all so kind and I loved how excited they were about the maze. You can tell that the owner has really put a lot of thought into all aspects of the farm, and the experience of the corn maze. I thought the admission ticket was well worth it! If we had come during the day, I would've loved to check out the pumpkin patch because it looked really fun, but the bonfire after the maze was super nice. We loved the hot chocolate also and little snacks for purchase. There were not a lot of food options so make sure to eat before you come! Lastly, make sure you prepare for not having any phone service. No one in our group had any bars with T-Mobile, US cellular, or Verizon. We downloaded the directions ahead of time so we didn't get lost driving home and set a meeting point for our group upon arrival.

The owners (2 Gals) were super friendly and interactive with us on any questions we asked. We loved hearing their story and how close the community around them is. On this street alone, you can hit a pumpkin patch and an apple picking farm all 5 minute drive from one another. They currently had a 'Yarn Hop' going on which we thought was so fun. With that, they really put standards in place for COVID safety precautions. At the front entrance, there was someone waiting to understand how many people were in your car (and if there were any children) so that they could contain crowds. Masks were worn and there is specific areas for parking marked. When we arrived, we were given a couple of carrot bags to feed the alpacas. They were all roaming, minding their own business eating the grass, but once you shake your plastic baggy of carrot goodness, they'll start walking to you instantly. They eat with their bottom teeth and are just the cutest things. I'm also extremely jealous of their eyelashes, extensions can't get you that amount of volume! Right next door, they have a another barn with their shop of goods, including honey/bee products. My friend got the alpaca gloves, another got the body butter, and I snagged a GalPaca shirt. There's lot to choose from and they're all labeled nicely. The cutest thing is, if you purchase yarn, there are the names of the specific alpaca it came from. So cute! Even though it's getting a little chillier, I would make my way out here to explore! A short 30-40 minutes from Madison and lots of other farms to see. You can also then go to more of the city area of Mt. Horeb afterwards.

It was well worth it to spend some time there and watch the alpacas! Right away as we pulled in, we were given a baggie of carrots and the alpacas perked right up and came straight to us at the gate. Seeing and feeding the alpacas was so much fun! GalPaca Farm Alpacas was very conscious of the pandemic and made sure to ask about the number of people we had in the car and to limit the amount of visitors to make the experience fun and safe for all. Definitely check out the store inside, they have a full variety of items like alpaca wool gloves, socks, and dryer balls. I picked up some wood cutting board balm and some solid lotion bars made in-home and I love using both on a daily basis. Hope to get back out there when the weather is warm again!
