I LOVEEEE Schuster's farm. It is always such a blast. One of the first things I did when I came to Wisconsin was go to Schuster's haunted hay ride during the Halloween Season. Since then, I have been back here with my partner to experience the farm animals a couple of times and the flower field that they have. I have also enjoyed going pumpkin picking and bringing home huge pumpkins to not only just carve, but to use for their pumpkin seeds...yum! There is also a very cute assortment of snacks and drinks you can get, including flights.

We have been going to Schuster's for 15 years and every year we are met with fun new activities and surprises! Our kids are now older but still enjoy all the fun barnyard activities ("Curtain Chaos" is a forever favorite!) and the hayride out to the pumpkin patch. The bakery items are always delicious, and the employees are always friendly and helpful. Pro tips we have learned over the years...buy your tickets online so you don't have to wait in line and save a little money, on beautiful fall days, get there early or it is packed, and finally - if you are a busy family who can't make until the last possible day, they will let you demolish pumpkins with baseball bats - which is actually a lot harder than you would guess! We suggest Schuster's to all our friends and never had a bad experience!

Another great pumpkin patch. Lots of activities for all ages. Great day of family fun!

Great place for kids in summer and fall. Has the tradition petting farm attractions like a corn maze, pumpkin patch, haunted forest and farm animals. But also does other fun events like the Blooms and Butterflies flower and sunflower fields that are great for pictures! Lots of different play equipment for kids of all ages, can spend hours here. The goats are the real highlight of the farm animals. Bakery has Apple cider donuts and other treats. A must-do every year for us!

Pumpkin patches rule. But what rules more is corn mazes. And what is even better than that is a haunted corn maze. I went through the mini maze, and started remembering watching Children of the Corn when I was still young enough to actually be scared of crap like that. So, of course I started getting a little freaked out. And just when I was sure Isaac was just around the corner, the maze was all done! I'm glad I didn't go into the giant maze (which was shaped like Gilda Radner?). Basically, if you want to get a pumpkin, why go to a grocery store, when you can go to a mile long patch, and make a total event of it?

One of the barns surrounded by pumpkins and gourds. Also, inside is the bakery. OMG.

My family and I have been going here for years. Every year they have something new and fun for the kids to explore. We've never done the corn mazes because it's just not our thing. We go on the hay ride, we get pumpkins, we eat goodies. We pay the 8 bucks and get into the play yard that is chock full of fun things for kids to do. Even us old farts looking to have some kid-like fun are getting right in there with the kids. Yep, there are animals, mostly goats, and you can feed them. They also have a lama, baby cow, chickens, a pot bellied pig, rabbits, a donkey, and kittens in the "Catty Shack." Though, on this particular visit, there was only one kitten. But that's not a major selling point for us. We spend more of our time shooting corn out of the cannons, jumping on the gigantic air pillow, mining for gems in the waterway, climbing tire structures, going down the slide, riding the barrel train, playing the farm version of volleyball with a gigantic, inflatable corn ball, and a lot more. A couple of other reviewers were complaining about it being a rip off and not being fun. Really? Are you sure you were at the right farm? There was also mention of some dead rabbits. Yeah well, it's a farm, not a fairy tale folks.

    Jessica M.

What an impressive grouping of activities for kids! They have a jumping pillow, petting zoo, tires, mini golf, apple cannons, pig races, gem mining, and so much more! Of course there's also a corn maze - and all for $12.95 (we went 9/23 and it was only $10)! We've been to a lot of corn mazes, but this one has the most activities other than that! We had a blast!

I loved all the extra challenges within the main corn maze, like the scavenger hunt and maze within a maze. I'll say, doing the maze in the dark was a lot more of a challenge. I wish I had brought a headlamp, flashlight, or portable phone charger for my phone flashlight. However, the stars and sky were beautiful at night. We couldn't stop looking up! I recommend buying tickets online, they were cheaper than at the door. You could easily add them to your Apple wallet or phone. When we arrived, we walked right up to the check-in booth and staff scanned them very quickly. Off of this, the staff were absolutely wonderful. They were all so kind and I loved how excited they were about the maze. You can tell that the owner has really put a lot of thought into all aspects of the farm, and the experience of the corn maze. I thought the admission ticket was well worth it! If we had come during the day, I would've loved to check out the pumpkin patch because it looked really fun, but the bonfire after the maze was super nice. We loved the hot chocolate also and little snacks for purchase. There were not a lot of food options so make sure to eat before you come! Lastly, make sure you prepare for not having any phone service. No one in our group had any bars with T-Mobile, US cellular, or Verizon. We downloaded the directions ahead of time so we didn't get lost driving home and set a meeting point for our group upon arrival.

The owners (2 Gals) were super friendly and interactive with us on any questions we asked. We loved hearing their story and how close the community around them is. On this street alone, you can hit a pumpkin patch and an apple picking farm all 5 minute drive from one another. They currently had a 'Yarn Hop' going on which we thought was so fun. With that, they really put standards in place for COVID safety precautions. At the front entrance, there was someone waiting to understand how many people were in your car (and if there were any children) so that they could contain crowds. Masks were worn and there is specific areas for parking marked. When we arrived, we were given a couple of carrot bags to feed the alpacas. They were all roaming, minding their own business eating the grass, but once you shake your plastic baggy of carrot goodness, they'll start walking to you instantly. They eat with their bottom teeth and are just the cutest things. I'm also extremely jealous of their eyelashes, extensions can't get you that amount of volume! Right next door, they have a another barn with their shop of goods, including honey/bee products. My friend got the alpaca gloves, another got the body butter, and I snagged a GalPaca shirt. There's lot to choose from and they're all labeled nicely. The cutest thing is, if you purchase yarn, there are the names of the specific alpaca it came from. So cute! Even though it's getting a little chillier, I would make my way out here to explore! A short 30-40 minutes from Madison and lots of other farms to see. You can also then go to more of the city area of Mt. Horeb afterwards.

GalPaca Farm Alpacas was very conscious of the pandemic and made sure to ask about the number of people we had in the car and to limit the amount of visitors to make the experience fun and safe for all. Definitely check out the store inside, they have a full variety of items like alpaca wool gloves, socks, and dryer balls. I picked up some wood cutting board balm and some solid lotion bars made in-home and I love using both on a daily basis. Hope to get back out there when the weather is warm again!

THEY'RE ALSO A WEDDING VENUE!…read more I would not recommend using! The venue itself is unique and definitely fun for people who love the farm and animals. I got married here in November of 2019. When I first went to see the place I loved it, the owner even seemed pretty down to earth and easy going she talked about all the success she's had with previous couples and how she really got to know them. Well, after I signed my contract and paid my deposit, it couldn't have been more different! I had to contact her multiple times to even get a response. Usually a text a few days after my initial call or text "hey did you get my message" I would contact her about once a month with questions or to pay her, so it's not like I was some sort of crazy picky bridezilla. During my engagement I was working full time another part time job and planning the wedding, the owner was of zero help. Until the week before the wedding then most of my questions were answered in a timely manner. READ THE CONTRACT! I ended up paying a little over $7,500 JUST FOR THE VENUE FOR THE DAY!!!! You will be nickled and dimed for everything EVEN FOOD TO FEED THE ANIMALS! The day before the wedding and the morning of the wedding the pipes in the bathroom were frozen. We planned to get ready in the provided barns which they put some space heaters in the one for the bride that barely kept it warm. The groomsmen waited until just shortly before the wedding to go in that provided barn since it was so cold. The bathroom is a trailer that was quite a distance from the barn where your reception is (or where you get married during inclement weather.) On our particular wedding the floors in the bathroom were not kept mopped so, I had multiple guests slip in the bathroom, one had actually mentioned it to the owner and she just said "okay" and then did nothing about it. The barn where the wedding and the reception were was not heated very well either so I had guests wearing coats the entire time and even leaving early because they were so cold. We were also charged a $200 fee taken out of our damage deposit for the heat, that really didn't seem to be working. The owner also stepped on the bottom of my dress as I was walking into the barn and left a muddy shoe print on the bottom of my dress right before I was to walk down the aisle. I will say at that point there would've been nothing we could do to clean it off since there is no running water in the barn, and it was ceremony time, but she could've at least aknowledged it later and compensated me somehow for it. I'm attaching a picture! I will say a positive was one of the employees Megan, she was so kind and helpful throughout the wedding, she offered to get me drinks and even helped with clean up. She was there till the end while THE OWNER WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!!! I felt bad for her since many of the things had gone wrong were out of her control. IF I WAS REVIEWING JUST HER SHE WOULD GET 10 STARS! Since the wedding I have contacted the owner regarding these issues to try and get my money back for at least the heat that we were charged for that wasn't even working adequately. I work in the service industry and I understand we can't always please everyone, and things can go wrong, but It's necessary to aknowledge them and let the people you're serving know that and try to make them better somehow. I'm really an easy going person, and especially a bride. At the end of the day I got to marry the man of my dreams and the love of my life! so that aspect of the day went perfectly. I wish I knew a little more about the particular venue and other people's experiences before I booked it, so I do hope that this information helps a future bride.

I nabbed that line from their website, because I couldn't think of a better way to describe their yummy products. Everything is made with whole grains that are unprocessed & other locally sourced/organic ingredients. I first picked up a bag of their banana muffin cereal on a whim in a quaint little coffee shop in Hartford WI back in October, just as a snack to tide me over until I got back to Milwaukee & cooked dinner. I ended up polishing off the whole 8oz bag. It was SO delicious! Great crunchy texture, crispy almonds & a heavenly banana flavor that didn't taste artificial at all. I made it a point to stop in that coffee shop each time I was in Hartford to pick up a bag (or three) of the pre-soaked oatmeal cereal; it is the absolute best granola I have ever eaten. The coconut flavored cereal has big tender slices of real organic coconut that are simply heavenly, not that icky sugary shredded kind you find at grocery stores. I'm eating some right now! They had a Facebook promotion late last year after they were making a batch of new Vanilla sprouted snack mix & forgot to add the vanilla, so they were giving bags of the "Oops" batch away for free to their customers. All you had to do was send them an email with your address. They sent me a free bag, & the sprouted nut snack mix was just as delicious as the granola. It was cashews, almonds, sunflower seeds & coconut pieces sweetened with honey. Mmmmm! I had a great idea to bake the snack mix into a shortbread cookie, but I ate it all up before I could even start baking anything. I can't wait to try their nut butters, their other flavors of oatmeal cereal (a friend of mine in NC ordered the orange pecan & loved it), & their trail mix. They also run a sheep farm in Ashippun that sells farm fresh lamb meat & eggs. You can even purchase them online! They're super friendly folks who make healthy snacks/food with locally sourced organic ingredients that are insanely delicious. I think if more people knew that healthy food tasted this good, they'd definitely change their mind about it. I just had to add them here on Yelp!
