Cider brat with apple-onion relish, cup of cider, and a peck of apples. So good!
    Jessica H.

After my sister decided to talk me into visiting an apple orchard while on her visit here in Wisconsin, I used Yelp to find a nearby orchard and was not disappointed in Appleberry Farm. Typically, things like apple picking are not my cup of tea. I tend to like passive activities during my time off so that I can relax more. So I was delightfully surprised at how much I enjoyed going to this farm. When picking up your bag for the apple picking, you're bombarded with all the delicious things you can buy at the store they have on site. Honey, pre-picked apples, icecream...all made right there on the farm. I ended up buying honey in addition to our picked apples and was very happy with the flavor and quality compared to store bought honey. Journeying out into the orchard, we were able to amble about, finding the best and juiciest apples for our planned cakes and strudels. The great thing about picking your own apples is that you can try a variety straight from the branch without having to spend money on varieties that you don't like or that aren't fresh. They have areas where you're not supposed to pick clearly marked off, so it was very easy to find the right apples. Exploring the farm itself was a great activity as well and the little kids seemed to love the place (especially the tire swings!). Since we came in the afternoon, the Cider Brats were also available along with cider to drink and apple-onion relish to put on top of your brats. Both the brats and the relish were soooo fresh and delicious. The only problem was with lunch was the bees who were mighty interested in the sweet cider in my hand. But that problem was easily solved by moving to another bench. Apparently hay rides are also available for only $1 which is an awesome deal. I imagine that this would be a good family activity with the young ones, even though we didn't end up going ourselves. In total, I spent about $15 on a peck of apples and a good sized bottle of honey. The cider was $1/cup and the brats were $4 each (relish was free and you could get as much as you wanted). Very reasonable prices considering how good the food was and how much effort went into preparing it. I would highly recommend this place as a weekend activity for anyone of any age, but I would especially recommend taking younger kids as they seem to love the place even more.

    Fresh Apple Cider Donuts.

I also got a jar of pickled dill green beans which I don't see terribly often and they were so good. I need to have those more often. They also had some gorgeous sunflowers, and had they been able to live I would have gotten a few. The stand is un-personed--at least when I was here. They have an honor system going here and you place your cash or check in a lockbox. Since there's no one here to take your payment, just make sure you have one of those two since there's no way to pay by credit card.

They provide you the basket and direct you to a row that has not been recently touched to pick at. They encouraged you to snack as you go and I definitely helped myself to several strawberries. The strawberries were well priced in my opinion. I had so much fun doing this and super happy with the selection. The strawberries are very sweet and so much better than what I have seen at the farmers market. They also sold other items at the farm such as peonies, honey, maple syrup, rhubarb, and eggs. They also had a strawberry lemonade stand, and it was super tasty! They had a chicken coop, where they provided portioned cups of food for children to feed the chickens for free. Make sure you check their website before you go to the farm, as they sometimes have to close strawberry picking early due to it needing to ripen more. Overall, great weekend activity and highly recommend!

Quite a bit were on the ground, but there was a good amount still on the trees when I went in mid October. I got the apple cider brat, and it was great! However, I wish that there were more activities and that there were more fresh products (like fresh, warm donuts). Also, beware of all the wasps!

There was plenty of parking out front when I arrived on Monday probably around 10 AM/10:30 AM. There was a small cashier station out front. A lady was short brown hair was explaining how the process works and that you would buy a choice of two different size bags. I chose a smaller bag for $22. I was shown the map and I took a picture of it and headed out to the Orchards. Everything is clearly marked and the paths are also well marked however, if you have any mobility challenges, this might be an issue for you. I don't know if there's any tractors that travel out there. There are wagons for younger kids, etc. I went all the way out past the final orchard to the Honeycrisp. I was surprised to see quite a bit of apple still on the tree. Please follow the directions on how to pick them because you do not want to damage the trees. I got a bunch of varieties which all tasted delicious. I then walked through the little store behind the initial cash register. They have already pre-picked apples, frozen cider donuts, and fresh cider for sale. On the day I arrived. They were already sold out of the fresh cider donuts and they were on their way, but I was already departing the location. Before I left, however, I opted to do the you pick raspberries and cherry tomatoes, which was fun although a bit arduous for the raspberries. Everything actually tasted delicious. I would definitely come back for other activities and of course, supporting local farm. I think this is really good for all ages, etc.. I did see a mix of families and young adults on this visit. Be advised of the closing times I believe it closed at 1 PM on Monday. It was just a fun experience.
