One star for special orders. I ordered a carrot cake and apple pie. $85!! The baker boastfully described the ingredients of the carrot cake and the cream cheese frosting filling. The cake looked like it came from a box mix, a thin layer of cream cheese frosting, and tasteless butter cream. The pie was $28, there is no way this was a fresh, made to order apple pie. The pie looked and tasted like a mass manufactured store bought pie. Expected more, very disappointed. Feel ripped off! So much for shopping locally. read more

The donuts are absolutely amazing! Prices are reasonable and the owners are very nice and ready to explain any pastry they have.

I was craving a good donut this morning, and I finally stopped in here. Those are not just good donuts....they are delicious!!!! Very friendly owner, nice, clean, cozy spot! I am embarrassed that I've been here for months and didn't know this little gem was here! I'm going back to try the fresh baked breads. We got our wedding cake at Alpine Pastries in 2004 - it was wonderful and everyone loved it, plus I swear it was cooked with love. The whole experience of picking the cake and getting it was very personal and easy. Also, knowing I was on a tight budget, Robert helped me think of ways to save money and still get a wonderful cake. It was refreshing while planning a wedding. Robert also baked us a 6 inch mini cake for our one year anniversary - a very special touch. My cousin is getting married later this year and my husband and I are giving the happy couple a wedding cake from Alpine Pastries as a wedding gift. I would definitely recommend!! read more

We ordered our wedding cake with Robert and Becky.....We got exactly what we envisioned----they make the cake the day before the wedding so it is unbelievably fresh....The design and decoration was so artistic..we had four different flavors for our 150 person wedding and all were perfect. And as for their pastries and biscotti that are available every day----Fantastic. read more

My wife and I used Alpine Pastries for our wedding in July of 2013. We were really trying to use as many local vendors for our wedding as possible. For our wedding, we did not go for the traditional wedding cake, but opted for wedding cupcakes instead. They use natural ingredients, and have the best butter crime frosting we have ever tasted! Plus when we went in for the tasting, we noticed some Scottish short bread cookies in the display case, and asked to sample one of those as well. These were wonderful as well, and came from a family recipe. Since we were having a Scottish themed wedding, and were looking to have some Scottish short bread cookies included in our guest gift bags, we ordered these as well. On the day of our wedding, everything showed up on time and looked absolutely wonderful. Robert and Becky were friendly and great to work with. You can tell that they love what they do, and have that personal attention that is really lacking from most businesses now days. We would recommend them to anyone! Though I live in the area, I have only been here once and it wasn't a great experience. It must be the type of place that you can only place large orders for pick up, not really a place you can just go in on a whim and pick up some treats. As soon as we walked in we definitely felt like we were getting the cold shoulder, or like we were bothering the people running the place. Very unpleasant feeling. Not sure why they have a store front if they don't want people dropping by, as least that's how it seemed. The display cases were pretty bare, too. Just weird, in general. read more

This place has the best donuts ever! I once had a donut close to as good as the ones at Alpine pastries in New Zeland. The owners are wonderful and nice. I have ordered cakes and cookies and they were to die for. This place is a GEM. read more

As a resident of Evergreen I love to support local business and I absolutely love and miss a good bakery but every time I try to buy at Alpine Bakery the is absolutely nothing on display for sale so I never buy anything. Apparently you have to place orders but I sure would love a bakery that had baked goods available for sale. read more

I have been going to them for 7 years and they have never disappointed me and they will really WOW your friends and family. Personal favorites include: Chocolate Paradise Cake (chocoholics will be in heaven); this cake was made by Robert when he was the former pastry chef at the Brown Palace; Lemon Cake (perfect for hot summers); Boston Cream Pie (fabulous year round).
