Can get private transfer on your own schedule if you go with a different service...otherwise they trap you with hard sales tactic only to reveal after you make a non-refundable payment that they won't take you until the next flight lands, regardless of if that flight is delayed 2 hours. Currently waiting outside GUC with 5 other folks. We were supposed to be picked up an hour ago. There are maybe 8 flights in and out of this airport each day. Can't be super hard to coordinate rides from a logistics standpoint. Customer service off shored as well it seemed. Called Dolly's and got a guy to pick up right away. They didn't have any availability but they attempted to make it work. Will never use Alpine again. read more

We used Alpine Express shared ride for the first time - from Gunnison Airport to Crested Butte Mountain (the weekend before President's Day weekend), and returned from Crested Butte Mountain to Gunnison Airport (Friday of President's Day weekend). We had a great experience both rides. Both drivers were prompt, kind, helpful, great drivers - enjoyed both. We were in shuttle vans with 5 people to the mountain and 9 people back to the airport, both shuttle vans were clean and well equipped to handle luggage and skies/snowboards. Booking process was easy, received follow up confirmations both via email and via text. We booked about 6 days prior to our travel, we had to make a last minute adjustment from driving to flying to Gunnison - that was no issue. Will definitely use Alpine Express again and recommend to others! read more

Alpine Express saved us! Today we were stranded at our pickup time by Uber in Crested Butte CO. "No cars available" despite scheduling a ride 6 days ago. Alpine Express worked some last minute dispatch magic and found a way to get us to Montrose airport. Thank you Jennifer for helping us! We will forever use Alpine Express for Telluride and Crested Butte. One last note: you do have to call Alpine Express and talk to a human that talks to dispatch while you are on hold. But view that as a good thing. It means they are actually scheduling you a ride. Don't be fooled by Uber's easy scheduling interface. read more

We booked this service 2 weeks before our trip and my wife had given them all of our flight info so they knew when to pick us up and when to drop us off back at the airport. We flew into town on a Friday and we're suppose to be leaving on a Monday The pick up from the airport was just fine and the ride there no problem. The problem was that on Saturday they sent a confirmation text stating they will be picking us up on Sunday to take us to airport, expect we sent them information that our flight was on Monday!!! We have spent hours of the rest of our vacation trying to contact them to make sure they get a ride for us Monday and here we are on Monday, hours before we have to leave to catch our flight. Did i mention we have a 1yr old with us!?!? We are literally gonna be forced to check out in 2 hours with no ride and then we're gonna miss our flight!! We have proof of the correction confirmation with the ride home for monday. If you read other bad reviews you can clearly see this company is impossible to get ahold of once they collect your money. I would stay away!!! We really loved crested butte but this company is making this trip a trip from hell in a hurry!! read more

Alpine Express was a great experience, very welcoming to Colorado. my driver Lonny was the most genuine, kind and caring person. his driving was excellent!! I felt extremely safe despite super gusty winds and icy spots on the road to Crested Butte. We just came off the most turbulent flight you can imagine so myself and all of the other passengers appreciated this more than Lonny can ever know :) He was a true pro! read more

Just rent a car and save yourself the hassle. I have had two experiences with Alpine Express and both have been deplorable. The first time, they left my wife and I stranded overnight at the Gunnison airport in the dead of winter. When I got ahold of the driver that left us, his response was "sorry, I already left". Thankfully we were able to find the one taxi in town and he took us to the public bus stop. He actually waited with us until the bus arrived to take us to the mountain. Well, we decided to give them another chance this year. Bad decision. Since we were traveling with our two year old, we needed a car seat. I called to verify that the child seat was on our reservation before our trip and, when we got to Gunnison, it wasn't. No big deal, we got them to dig one out of the back and install it. For the return trip, I called TWICE (one time a couple days in advance, another the morning of) to verify they would have one installed since we'd be out of luck if they didn't. Well, they didn't. My two-year-old got to ride on the lap of my wife for the trip from crested Butte to Gunnison with icy road conditions. Also, Mark (the driver) didn't seem to care. For all of this, the best they could do was offer me a 20% refund on my trip. Never again... read more

If zero stars were an option I would choose. Alpine Express is now owned by Telluride express and its very different. I arranged a ride for my son from the Gunnison airport to Crested Butte. For $200 they no showed, charged my card and after 4 days and still not explained or refunded. They clearly recognize that they are the only game in town and boy does it show. If you call (non busy season) the hold Time was over an hour. This business should either cease to exist or hopefully a competitor emerges. read more

Great drivers and good vehicles. Online reservation was easy for our party of 6 and charge of $38.50/person/ each way from Gunnison to Crested Butte was reasonable. Two weeks before our departure, two in our party needed to change their return date to one day earlier. Couldn't update the reservation online, so had to call in and it was awful, it literally took hours to speak to someone in order to merely change the date. When we changed the return date by one day for two people in our party, Alpine Express now wanted to charge all 6 of us $52/person each way for both trips. I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager and was told they would call me back. It's been 3 weeks, no call back but they went ahead and charged our card at the higher rate for 6 people. Always a pleasure to use Alpine Express when flying into GUC for travel up to CB. I have used them for more than 10 years, at least 5x a year. The drivers are great and always provide a strong conversation. No concerns during Covid as the van(s) have been very clean and the driver wore a mask. Highly recommend. read more

It is hard to verify, but I think Alpine Express was the company that provided us with a 4 wheel drive tour in Crested Butte. This started out in CB on Slate River Road to Pittsburg, on to Paradise Divide, then Gothic and back to Crested Butte. It was a spectacular ride. George our driver was funny and interesting. We saw all kinds of wildflowers and incredible mountain views. Don't take your car on this trip, as it will never be the same if it actually returns in one piece. Highly recommended. read more

I spent nearly 40 minutes on the phone with them while they explained that their driver had gotten his van stuck in the snow! In the mountains, in Colorado. This company made no effort to arrange an alternative, and could not have cared less if i missed my flight. We hired Alpine Express to shuttle our wedding guests to and from our ceremony. We decided to go with the 50 passenger shuttle. We sent them a note a few months before and booked them. They were responsive, and the best thing is I didn't have to worry about it day of. They sent me the driver's contact information the day before, I called him on Saturday just to make sure everything was a go and that was literally all I had to do. I feel badly as I meant to tip the driver but I completely forgot- so try to remember to give some $$ to one of your guests if you're not riding the shuttle yourself! WORST shuttle service ever........Alpine Express was purchased a couple of years ago by a larger company. We have had so many terrible experiences and they are unreliable (will leave you stranded). So difficult to book online and the staff does nothing the help. The old company was very reliable but do not depend on the new ownership. Save yourself a ton of hassle and rent a car or try another shuttle service. Several local friends and second homeowners have now also switched due to equally as bad experiences. It is pretty well known around CB that this company regularly disappoints. Never again will we rely on this service, three strikes in a row and you our OUT. Would rather walk from Gunnison to Crested Butte (and if you rely on them, chances are, you will). read more

Shuttle service was very accommodating. The driver handled our 5 pieces of luggage like it was part of his job. On the way to the ski resort he offered to stop at a liquor store and a grocery store. The drivers always claim that the prices are cheaper in Gunnison than up on the mountain. I've never challenged the claim. We take them up on the offer and usually buy too much. This driver even loaned us his Safeway card so we could save $12.00 on groceries. He did get the benefit of our purchase counting towards his gas discount. A win-win for each party. Considering how important the shuttle service is for the ski resorts, they do an excellent job. read more

I would like to take a moment to write my FIRST review on Yelp. Everyone was lovely, helpful and accommodating when my flight got cancelled and I had to get to Montrose. Add to it that I left my ipad at the airport and they found it and shipped it back to me. If you EVER need shuttle or limo or SUV in Gunnison/Crested Butte area, this is the only one I can recommend! Re: Gender Neutral Restrooms, they had men, womens and family restroom areas so everyone is covered in their preferences and privacy. read more

I normally do not write reviews; however, feel compelled so that others do not experience the same frustration as me and my family. For the SECOND time in 2 years, this company did not perform as agreed - and this past time (earlier this month) they left us stranded in Crested Butte with a "flippant" attitude regarding helping us with an error they made in their system. This caused us a significant amount of non-budgeted money in forcing us to get a hotel for another day an pay airline change fees, AND Alipne Express charged us the FULL amount of the trip despite not picking us up! Then, the manager refused to get on the phone and hid behind employees. Trying to book with them is difficult and takes a lot of time. We were warned by many locals as well as other travelers experiencing the same, but thought since we used them (prior to what I now understand is new management) I would give them another chance. Big mistake on my part. I should have listened to all the Facebook reviews I read. Probably the worst and most unreliable company I have seen in many years and not representative of the high level of service we always realize while in Crested Butte. I agree with previous reviews, rent a car or try another service - this company does not honor it's obligations and is way too expensive for their service. NEVER AGAIN. read more
