Please note that 104 does not mean first floor. You literally are on the bottom floor and have to climb the three flights every trip (in addition to the flight of stairs to the parking lot). Our space was sufficient for what we needed. It was pet friendly for our daughter's puppy. She had indicated that they were bringing the puppy but apparently it did not get into the notes or on the booking. Either way, the maid service did not come but once and never came again when they realized that the puppy was in her crate. The water in the kitchen never got warm for washing dishes. The beds were adequate for a condominium. I always pull back the bedding when I arrive to a location. The sheets had apparently been washed with something that had black lint in it. There was black balls of lint all over the bedding. You can imagine the concern we had until examination closer. The yellow warning tapes were on the deck due to the snow that was accumulated on deck. Going up and down steps outside the building were difficult. View from the room was good, but so much snow piled up that you had to go outside to really see the mountains. The biggest plus to the San Moritz was the shuttle service to town. It was only a phone call away. We did not have to wait more than 15-minutes. If they were going to be longer than the time needed, they would tell you to call back.

We made reservations to park our RV for the week last minute (which we were excited about even…read moregetting given the fact that it's summer and there was an event in town). The staff was super friendly and accommodating of our need to extend our checkout until later in the day so we could finish out the work day. The park grounds are well kept; the on site Wi-Fi worked well when we used it (we had Internet in our RV via AT&T and Verizon) and we're able to work from the RV during the week with no problems; the little laundry facility was clean and even had a nice table to fold on and a rolling basket to move loads with. Most of the washer and dryer units were working and did a fine job at cleaning our clothes. I was also pleased at the $1.25 a load for washing and $0.25 per 15 minutes for drying. We didn't use the bath house so unfortunately I can't opine on that. The only con is that you parked awfully close to your neighbors and I felt bad because our sewer hose ran next to our neighbors eating area/pic-nick table. Also, because of the closeness of RVs/Trailers, it was a little more of a challenge than usual to park our RV. To be fair, it is an almost 38' long Class A Motorhome (so a bit like driving a bus). That said, most of the folks camping in the park were older, clean and quiet which we really appreciated. There was an occasional barking dog but everyone seemed really good at taking care of their pets and not letting them bark endlessly for long periods of time. Similarly, you are close to the road, and do get a little bit of traffic noise but it didn't bother us at all during the day and there isn't much traffic at night. We would definitely stay here again.

I was deployed to Gunnison County Airport. I met some really cool ppl here and it will be sad to…read moresay goodbye. I had an opportunity to go skiing for the first time but working in the airport seeing all those passengers coming thru with hard cast and arm in slings and crutches and wheelchairs. My mind was made up I wasn't going skiing on anyone trial. Gunnison is a really small county of 11,000 people. Everyone is very friendly and the town is really festive for the holiday's. The airport is very small and it has one restaurant Elevate Cafe. They serve a mean chilli and nachos, hot dogs, turkey, ham and roast beef sandwiches and subs. They also serve hot pretzels and its a nice cozy spot. The altitude in Gunnison, Colorado is 7703 and Crested Butte 8,909′. Those altitudes really had me with nose bleeds and some of my co workers had head aches. One of my co workers had to go to the hosp but he just needed oxygen and some rest. Hes fine. But the time I had here I truly loved but I can't do the altitudes. You have to make sure you drink anlot of wster and if your a smoker it will be extremely difficult. Side effects, The airport only has two lanes and 85 % of the time there will only be on lane open. It's very important to arrive to the airport 2 hours before your flight. Cresent Butte, Colorado is the main ski resort and they have some expert skiers it's exspensive but they have some excellent restaurants in Cresent Butte. My favorite restaurants were Ryce and Elk Ave Prime. Gunnison has some very good authentic mexican restaurants. a Alpine Brewery my fav for beer selection and delicious brick oven pizza. I have one more day here and a few of the local TSA officers came along for dinner to El Paraiso Family Mexican Restaurant. So when your in Gunnison please check out the cute town and all the little shops along with Cresent Butte for skiing and dinning. Yelper until my next foodie adventure #FOODIE4LIFE

Our dogs actually had room in the car because all we had to pack was our own food and personal items! ( And as for food, we hired our daughter who's a chef and she pre made and labeled our meals.) Jacob and his wife are kind, responsive and avid campers themselves. They have thought of everything to make camping fun and easy. Real plates, cups, silverware,French press, cast iron skillets, etc, plus salt pepper and coffee, Adirondack chairs by the fire pit, picnic table and your very own tent bathroom with a camping toilet, fresh towels, clothes rack, you name it! This brings back fond memories for me…read more My husband and I had taken an outdoor education class here that was offered through Western State College almost 30 years ago. Even though we lived in the area for many years, this is the first time we have been back since. It is a most excellent stopping spot when making the drive along US 50. It is also the main ranger station for Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and for the Curecanti National Recreation Area. The staff are very helpful and informative (as to be expected from NPS staff). There are public facilities here and a small retail space for the requisite NPS tchotchkes. You can also get your passport stamps for all the area National Park sites. There is a nice restaurant at the Marina, but it is only open during the summer season.

The Elk Creek Visitor Center is part of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Folks come…read morehere for information and permits. A number of items are for sale: books, maps, and tourist trinkets. Public restrooms are available here, as well as a water fountain - and cold bottled water is available for purchase. The staff here are very friendly, helpful, and professional!

This is the perfect place for a family reunion. These are clean cabins that are rented by the…read morenight. The staff was down right nice and very helpful. The cabins have small kitchens with all the plates and utensils you'll need. The cabins all have front porches and plenty of parking. There are tall Cottonwood trees that shade the areas and you can sit and watch the gunnison river and hear it from your cabin. This is totally laid back and restful for the adults. Activities include: playing basketball, soccer, tetterball, or borrow a bike and ride the country roads. that's right for free! They even allow dogs! Your whole family will enjoy this welcome rest. About a 6 mile drive to Gunnison if you want to go into town. About 10 miles to Taylor lake which is breathtaking.
