Michael of Alpine Clocks is amazing! When I first started working with Alpine and buying clocks from there many years ago, they were in Metairie, LA. My clock needed repair and I contacted Alpine. Living on the South Shore, i was concerned about how to get it in for repair,and how to transport it. It was a time consuming event and a little stressful trying to coordinate all the pieces including estimating as a clock lover the problem, and f it could be repaired, not to mentiion, how much it would cost. Michael assured me he would do his best to have my clock ticking again. Because of street work in New Orleans and a renovation, Michael had to clean the clock twice in addition to addressing the timing. The RESULT was FABULOUS. and exceeded my expectation. We got it back home and on the wall with a little more instruction from Michael. He guided us patiently through the process. It is my very favorite of all my clocks. I just want to update my review to say Thank you. My clock is still running beautifully. I wind it once a week on Saturday's and Sunday if it starts sounding slow and I forgot to wind it on Saturday. Beware: Alpine has a scheme to double the quoted price for a repair. Left a ticket concealed on my clock case indicating the higher price.

Parts were slow in coming but they did an excellent job of revitalizing my grandfather clock.

A ripoff this time. 3 years ago the servicing took about 2 hours to complete. Jim took apart the entire mechanism, inspected, cleaned and oiled as needed. He reassembled everything and the clock ran fine. We made our appt. to move and service the clock for 2024-April-09. I get a call during their confirmed window that they can move and service on 4/11, as if Allan was trying to "reconfirm" a different appt. I learned that their van was out of service and would transport the clock by pickup truck. Jim arrives at 1115, preps the truck for 5 mins., then preps the clock for moving and places it in his truck -- 10-15 mins. I lead the way driving to the next address 4.3 miles - about a 10 min. drive. He brings the clock in the house, places it in the room and reattaches the pendulum and weights. He opens the side windows and looks at some items while we clean the windows. He finishes at 1155 by setting the correct time. We questioned him about doing a complete servicing and he claims he did so. For a total of 40 mins. and $350, the effort was a ripoff. Allan was arrogant on the phone when we called to complain about the lack of service. He told us they are the only ones in town to work on these G-clocks. We requested a partial refund. Allan replied, "That's never going to happen." What would have been a good reference 3 years ago is now a 0-rating. read more

It took six months to get my clock back. Had it a week and the cables broke. They came and got the clock, three weeks later they delivered it, one week later the cables broke again and while it worked the chimes did not work. Will not fix it nor will I let them. they have been paid in full and I still have a clock that does not work. read more

Brought in an old clock that hasn't worked since World War I that I didn't know much about . Turns out it was a very pricey antique and I was taught a lot of interesting knowledge by the staff and ended up getting it fixed up and in beautiful condition all cleaned up yet still with its original wear and tear in it , I was blown away ! Couldn't have asked for any better service and I made 7x what I put into it after I sold it ! These guys aren't out to rip you off or overcharge you and I highly recommend ! This place nearly destroyed my 40 year old German wall clock. I took it in for cleaning. When I got it home it ran for 10 minutes and quit. I took the clock back and they had it for more than a year. Each time I spoke to them I got the same comment, "It's running fine just leave it another week or so to be sure. When I picked it up it was not running. I took the clock home it ran for 10 minutes and quit. I called them and was told, that's why we didn't charge you to fix it. I took it to another repair shop and was told that these guys were in way over their head. When they did the cleaning they oiled parts that should not have been oiled, tried to pry something apart instead of disassembling it and bent the sprocket and the teeth on the gear. I would not take a $5 Timex watch to them for repair. It is going to cost me 10 times as much to repair this clock as it did to buy it new thanks to the Alpine Clock's master disrepair shop.
