I live in Corrales and have a large, complicated sprinkler system that is approximately 40 years old. Several weeks ago, I went on vacation, and when I returned, noticed that the yard was very dry. When I tried to water, the sprinkler system was broken. My previous repair person had retired, and after searching on the Internet, I found Hugo. He answered my phone call promptly, came out to look at things two days later, and returned today to fix it. He was very knowledgeable, was able to diagnose the problem in very short order, and had it running normally right away. His fee was very reasonable, and I'm more than pleased with his service. I'm just going to come out and say it, finding a good irrigation/sprinkler pro/landscaper is hard. Really hard. I can't even count how many we contacted and never got calls returned or those we contacted, even made plans to do the work and they ghosted or took so long to respond we couldn't make plans for the rest of the work around them. I'll admit, the job wasn't the easiest but it also wasn't extremely difficult so we were trying to get a range of quotes/ideas because the quotes we did get ranged from a few hundred dollars to several, several thousands of dollars which I literally laughed out loud when I saw that one. To be blunt, desperation led us to Thumbtack and that's how we found Alpha1. We found a few other places on Thumbtack as well but Alpha1 was the best of any of the companies we had contacted overall and they seemed to have great online reviews. Not only was Hugo responsive, he was incredibly knowledgeable and came up with a great solution to fix our whacky irrigation situation that was holding up some other landscaping work. His pricing was reasonable and he was extremely easy to work with. When we got the work scheduled, him and his crew were there bright and early and even helped us with a few other things they noticed while they were here. They worked their butts off and completed the work in 2 days (exactly what they estimated) and did a great job of cleaning up the work areas and dirt too. Basically, they installed a new control box and added two new sprinkler zones which is working great for what we needed. All in all, I can't recommend them enough. I'm really glad that we found a company with such a great crew and would recommend them to anyone. read more

My choice to go with this Company was based on their 5 Star rating, but I have since drastically changed my mind regarding this rating. I was told I would receive an estimate on Monday and Monday came and went and that never happened . We were provided an estimate a few days later. Based on the estimate , we chose to hire them. They were scheduled to come out at 8:00AM and did not show up to do the job they were hired to do. At 10:30AM, got a Text from Hugo stating he did not want to take on our job, never giving a concrete reason why. Is this good business practice??? read more

I hired Hugo to replace all my sprinkler heads and fix three leaky valves for my water zones. Whereas it it is often very difficult to even find someone to come over to make an assessment of a project, Hugo was very prompt with his estimate as well as delivering a timely quote. His pricing was very reasonable compared to other quotes. Hugo was a pleasure to work with and is very responsible and reliable. Hugo and his team are amazing. They do so much more than sprinklers. We had a guy come in and make a disaster of our landscaping in our brand new home. We got 3 quotes and Hugo was the only one who went over the top to make recommendations, and then gave us a great job to finish the entire landscaping project, not just redo the sprinklers. He has a great crew but he is always on site working beside them and supervising. He takes responsibility if there is an issue and corrects immediately and responds positively to changes and add ons when necessary.
