After finishing my online course, I came in to do my pistol qualifications. Everyone was very nice, not over the top but treated me like they already knew me. Free beverages were offered and the showroom was amazing. I couldn't keep myself from browsing around until it was time to shoot. Very nice shooting range. They let me zero my optics before I proceeded to qualify. 8 rounds on target at 3 yards, another 8 rounds at 5 yards, then another at 7 yards. (24 rounds per gun you're qualifying with). One thing to note about the shooting range. They do not allow you to bring your own ammo, you have to buy lead free ammo from them (which was kind of pricey, but i don't mind). After I was done shooting, they printed my qualification and I submitted it to my issuing agency. I was approved the same day. I will be coming back, to get my multi-state CCW with Elite CCW. They will help you get everything submitted right. I have already recommended Elite CCW to my friends and coworkers. The amount of professionalism I encountered is hard to come by, especially in the gun world, where everyone thinks they're better than you and treats you as such. Top notch crew!

I pick a new trade or skill annually and learn it. This time I chose United Defense Tactical. I was never really into guns or shooting or MMA or anything like that. I'm more into film and music and what not. But after joining and finding myself thinking of perfecting my grip, stance etc, and noticing i was getting quicker, more accurate, and finding myself thinking differently about regular and routine situations, even walking into a room or where I sit at a restaurant, I found that I felt like I had greater and broader awareness of my surroundings, other people, and myself. When I first started I didn't own a firearm and originally hadn't planned to which was cool that it wasn't necessary. So don't let that hold you back from starting this. You will know when the time is right. Ive been really busy so unfortunately haven't been able to go as much as I'd like to but when I do, I get so much out of that hour I'm there. It's a great way to separate yourself from all other areas of life because it requires your entire focus, in detail. Perfect way to start or end your day. All the instructors I've had have been great. They each have their own take on it so it's beneficial to get different classes in with various instructors. Vince makes it fun and helped make the details enjoyable while showing where I needed to improve and focus more. John i originally thought was kind of tough and focused a ton on fundamentals which I'm happy he does. I find that I get a lot out of his classes bc the tone is serious and the attention to surroundings and detail is heavily focused on. Lance is good with connecting to his students and creating exercises that make you think, and can seem like a lot at first but then you surprise yourself with how good you do. Tony is good at pin pointing your weak spots and helping you get better at it. Vince does a great job of this too. Joshua is great too but I haven't taken many classes with him. I remember him slightly adjusting my draw and it helped immensely. These guys are all pros and great to learn from. If you go in with a mindset of being broken down in order to be built back up stronger then you will get so much out of this course. There's a couple other guys that I took classes from that I don't think are there anymore. Again, I haven't been in for a while, but if you're serious about getting more knowledgeable in de escalation, self defense, educated on guns and thinking in a way that makes utilizing your gun education as a last resort, and you want to become more confident in potential real life situations (that do/can happen), then this is your place. SCAM ALERT: Do not give them your card!…read more Update: so funny look at their reply - trying so hard to explain their policy, but ignoring what I was offered is a paid trial and they keep charging me even if I canceled. it is a FRAUD, Check their BBB, it is a F score. I was promised a $179 per month "flexible" trial, this is specifically given that I can cancel before the trail ends and not bind to their one year membership but it was a total lie. Classes are impossible to book and the schedule is a joke. The worst part? I officially cancelled on Feb 11 and got a written confirmation saying "no further payments will occur." Today, they ILLEGALLY charged my card $200 anyway! This is straight-up fraud. They lure you in with "flexibility" and then rob you even after you quit. Save your money and stay away. I'm reporting this to the police and filing a chargeback immediately.

My teenage daughter wanted to take a training course for her birthday, and that is what we did, opting for the introductory pistol course. It was an interesting experience learning all of the detail and function behind these weapons, as well as getting to handle and become familiar with the different types, from the six-shooter to the 9-mm semi-automatic handguns. After watching an extensive training video, we got the opportunity to do some actual target shooting on the range. Our instructor was excellent and did a great job showing us how everything actually worked and providing useful tips on how to shoot. I would definitely recommend the training course for anyone with a curiosity about guns or if you simply want to know more about it. Five stars.

What really sets Roger apart is his depth of experience. His background in the military and as a shooting coach is obvious in the way he teaches. He explains things clearly, gives real world context, and focuses on building safe habits and confidence. You can tell he has spent years training others and knows exactly how to communicate effectively. The simulator training was one of the most valuable parts. It puts you in realistic situations and forces you to think through decisions, not just focus on shooting. It made the class much more engaging and practical. Roger also made the environment welcoming and comfortable and even provided snacks and refreshments during the class. John, our instructor, was very engaging and great at commanding attention when needed and building up the class's confidence. Afterward, I took them up on their 'newbie' offer of free range time and rental after class. Kevin signed me up for a lane, let me rent a couple of handgun models I researched previously, and critiqued my targets, giving some general feedback and advice. He also pointed me toward a couple other models that are known to be more friendly to left-handed shooters that I can test out in the future. Great place; a little on the older and smaller sides, but staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. I get the feeling that as I 'shop around' for my go-to range there's a strong chance I will gravitate back here, since these guys are passionate about what they do, and seem to want to inspire that passion in others. As expected for a weekend, there was a wait, but since we were off for the day, we didn't mind hanging out on the folding chairs in the retail section for 30 minutes. The staff is awesome--super friendly and easy to talk to--and the check-in was painless. While waiting, I noticed their optics prices are actually lower than most other shops in OC. I'll definitely be back when I'm ready to pick up another Holosun. The only real downside is their range rule: you have to reload your magazines at the shooting stall, not the back table. Because the space is tight, I couldn't reload while my friend was shooting. We ended up spending half our time just loading mags, which really cut into our actual trigger time. It's a solid spot and less expensive than other local ranges, so I'd come back alone, but I'll probably skip the "buddy trips" here since the reload rule makes it hard for two people to get their money's worth.
