They did a hard cut back on a plant we didn't ask them to touch, then told us we should just wait for it to grow back in a few years. When we asked them to replant, they offered us $100 off a $1000 bill. We won't be using Alpen Tree again. read more

Ryan and co are great- Ryan is a certified arborist- so he ticks all the boxes- has helped us save trees, pass defensible space with Tahoe Donner Fire, while knowing how to trim trees in ways that pass Defensible Space and make them healthier while still looking nice. His prices are market average (and way better than Elements), he's responsive and timely. And his crew does other clean up opportunistically while they're out here. read more

Alpen Tree Experts does quality work. They are definitely tree & plant experts. Owner Ryan Kramer & his team are dedicated professionals. Ryan operates a customer-friendly business and will work with the needs of the customer. Value is very good for the project they did on my property (defensible space work, trimming & removing trees, raking up fallen branches & cones, and hauling). Alpen Tree Experts is on my repeat list for sure. read more

From beginning to end, Alpen Tree Experts (and Ryan the owner) were a pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend them and will use them again in the future. As part of my defensible space work, I asked Ryan to provided an estimate for taking out a large/tall white fir tree, several smaller trees, and limbing a tree with dead branches. He was very responsive via email and phone. The estimate was a little higher than my budget, and Ryan worked with me so we could get the work done in line with my budget. I also asked them to chip the trees and leave the chips on my property. On the day of the job, Ryan's crew arrived at my home on time and explained what they would be doing. They asked me a few questions, and then work began. A handful of hours later, everything was done according to what we scoped. And the wood chips were left exactly where I specified. I am very happy with their work! read more

This is the second year we have asked Alpen for help. Both times we have been impressed with the level of service, care, and expert advice received. Not only are they cost effective and responsive, they will give you super clear advice focused on what is best for your situation. Highly recommend and trust. read more

Second time for defensible space work (damn trees and bushes keep growing). Very reasonable, fast, and professional. Work was complete and the site left clean and looking undisturbed. Ryan was accessable and always answered calls quickly. Alpen really shined with some unplanned work and I will definitely use them again. read more

We recently had two very large Pine trees removed at our cabin in PlaVada - both right up against the building. It was amazing to watch Ryan and his team carefully and professionally remove both trees, but what I noticed most was how they worked together. The communication, team work and fun they had together while working was again, amazing to watch. I would use Alpen again without question !! Jeff and Sherri read more

I can't speak highly enough about Ryan and his crew at Alpen Tree Experts. Today is the 2nd time in the last 4 years that I have used them to remove a large Cottonwood from my yard and they always do such a professional job. Ryan goes above and beyond what he says he will do and his prices are very fair for the services rendered. read more

Communication was excellent and scheduling was efficient. Professional and obviously entirely experienced. Highly recommend! Thanks Alpen! read more

Ryan responded quickly and came to do the estimate, 3 others on this list either took over 3 weeks to respond or never did. Estimate was very fair. The workers worked quickly and cleaned everything up. The only hiccup was that they were a couple hours late and we would have appreciated a phone call, it other tha. That everything was great! read more

Thank God for Cease Fire!!! I was stressing on passing my insurance defensible space inspection but was relieved when the inspector said I passed with flying colors. Numerous 100'+ trees were fell and quite a few loads of needles were taken to the dump. The quote was competitive with the other companies I contacted. I've used other companies in the past but will only be using Cease Fire in the future! read more

The guys at Alpen Tree delivered firewood to my house which might, at first, seem like no big deal. But considering that I called a day prior and had a short window in which I would have help to stack the firewood, it was a big deal. They showed up 5 minutes early, were professional and awesome, and I will use them for my firewood as long as I need it! read more

Ryan (Alpen Tree Service) provides professional service with a friendly can-do attitude. The crew dropped three large trees exactly where we ask, cut rounds and neatly staked them and cleaned up all the remaining debris. Ryan works closely with his team to insure the job is done correctly. In summary, quick, efficient, professional, great work, great customer service, great communication, fair price. Highly recommneded! read more

This was our first experience having to comply with HOA and insurance company requests for tree removal and management. We did our homework and chose Alpen Tree Experts for a fairly large job (1.5 days) We are very pleased with the expert work accomplished by Ryan and his crew. He listens to his clients, offers knowledgeable advice and goes the extra mile to make sure we are happy. We also observed Alpen Tree Experts on a very large and daunting job across the street. It was evident that they practice safe and meticulous measures in all they do, from start to finish. read more

I highly recommend the services provided by Ryan Kramer of Alpen Tree Experts. He quickly ground down several large tree stumps around my Serene Lakes cabin, then swept away any debris on my driveway. Ryan delivered prompt, professional work at a very reasonable price. read more

Ryan and his team were contracted to do tree thinning and clearing for our Tahoe Donner property. Ryan went above and beyond, even proactively contacting TD Forestry to get their assistance in marking trees. The work was performed on schedule and they did an excellent job. I particularly appreciated not having to clean up stray branches or debris as the area they worked on looked great. Highly recommend their services! read more

Great work. Ryan is a very professional owner and his team works very quickly. Their jobs are left clean at the end of the day. After talking with several companies, Ryan's quote was very reasonable. We will definitely use him for future jobs. read more

We used them for the first time a few weeks ago and were really pleased with their work and customer service. Their quote was competitive with the other 2 we received, and their response time for the quote was very quick. We watched them do some of the work and they seem to really know what they're doing and work well as a team. They cleared all of the trees and brush that we'd asked, and did a good job of cleaning up after they were done. I will definitely use them again! read more

I had Ryan and his crew at Alpen Tree Experts along with assistance from Connolly Crane Service remove a 36 inch x 125 foot tall tree right beside my rear deck. The tree had to be cut in 10 foot sections while lifting over my house and stage on the street in front. Everything was done in a safe, coordinated manner.......all very professional! Ryan was professional, courteous, and great to work with..........I would trust and recommend him and his staff to anyone! read more

Cease Fire is the best. They did exactly what we wanted and the $$ was right and the work was done completely in a timely manner!

Alpen Tree Experts has been doing work for me for several years now. They have trimmed apple, pine, cherry, pine, and aspen trees for me. It means a lot to me to have an arborist guiding the work because I want my trees to be healthy and I have seen do-it-yourselfers and unlicensed contractors ruin trees and yards. Ryan Kramer and his crew have worked at my home and office. They have also done defensible space work for me at my home in Tahoe Donner, and they did yard cleanup for me once. The prices were good, they were on time, and they left everything nice and clean every time. I recommend them. read more
