There were three different types of firewood to choose from and we went into detail on all three. I went with walnut as it burns slowly but it's not as hard to light as Oak. Been a firewood delivery customer for 5 years. They will do invoice payment once you are a repeat customer. Always show up when they say they will and never had a problem with coordination and quality of the wood. Got a quote for brush clearing and I ended up doing it myself. I wasn't sure if their recommendations would be aligned with the fire department and didn't want to over clear any foliage, plus I wanted to try it myself and see if the work was worth the money I would have spent. Ultimately I regret not hiring them as the cost for the work was very reasonable considering all the time and back breaking work I spent getting my yard in fire compliance. Plus bought a bunch of tools for the job. I will definitely call them for this service next year. Their recommendations for what to thin/clear/remove was actually very close to the suggestions I received from the Tahoe City fire department whom I had inspect my property before I started the work. read more

However, if you live here as a permanent resident there are a lot of places to find good Pine firewood. You'll most likely need to go get it yourself so hiring someone to season it, split it and drop if off at your home is not cheap. read more

We called them on a Sunday and by 10 AM the next day, we had a cord of wood dropped at our house on the west shore in Tahoma/Meeks Bay. Kosich was great! I moved into a new house this March with an empty propane tank and very little wood in the harshest winter we've had in years. I was in a hurt-locker and Kosich made my delivery a priority. I was rationing my wood burning until I could get propane delivered and Kosich came through for me. Best firewood around. I've used Kosich the past three years for my seasonal firewood needs. I burn somewhere between 3 and 4 cords of wood each winter. All the firewood I have purchased from Kosich has been well seasoned. While I don't measure the cords, it certainly seems I get more than I paid for. I just bought a house in Tahoe and I needed firewood for the new wood stove. I saw Kosich Firewood truck off of Donner Pass Road and decided to them a call. After talking with Jason, one of the owners I was able to get a couple cords delivered and stacked in a couple days. While Jason and his brother Ryan were stacking the wood, I also found out they do defensible spacing as which the yard was in need. A few days later they were back again and were able to remove a lot of dry foliage and some dead trees and now the yard looks great. Good prices, great wood, and excellent stacking technique. The only reason it is not five stars is that they had a bit of a bad attitude about the delivery. I told Jason by email that they should back their truck up to the rear deck and load the wood from the truck to the deck. The landlord of the cabin called Jason the day before delivery to describe the deck and how wood has always been loaded onto it in the past. But when they turned up, they complained that there was no way to park the truck away from the cabin in order to use a wheelbarrow to unload the wood and they charged me extra because of that. Unloading wood by tossing it from the back of a truck is way easier than unloading it to a wheelbarrow, pushing the wheelbarrow, unloading the wheelbarrow and repeating a hundred times. Still it was great wood and they did an awesome job of stacking it. Plus Jason was quick to reply by email and phone during the whole process. I would use them again next ski season. read more

We hired Kosich firewood and tree removal to take down several large dead trees at our home on Donner lake this fall. The communication, customer service & job performance were excellent! The price and job performance were fair and final price was exactly as promised!
