We had significant issues related to voids, lack of insulation and a very warm bedroom located above the garage. After he came and did the assessment, we came up with a plan to do what we thought were the fastest ROI. We changed all of our ducts to R-8, extended the plenums, increase the insulation level to R-30 and filled up all the voids and air leaks, added a return and put more efficient grills. At the end, our electric bill went down, the rooms were more comfortable and temperature equalized. Jason is really meticulous and really knows its stuff. I would recommend him for new or old constructions. Yes, you read that right, he can tell you if the builder did the right things for your AC or if he took shortcuts which may lead to issues to you as soon as your system is out of warranty. On install day, instead of doing the work I'd contracted for, the crew declined it and handed me a proposal to replace my whole duct system for $11,595 -- almost double what I'd already signed for. I said no. Getting my deposit back was the real ordeal. They wanted to keep $1,500 and never once gave me an itemized breakdown, despite me asking twice -- and never showed me a single photo of the "partial" work they claimed. So I brought in two separate licensed HVAC companies. Both found no sign of any recent duct work. The ducts FOR called "beyond repair" got repaired for about $500 in one afternoon. It took a formal demand letter to get most of my money back. Document everything before you hand these folks a deposit.

Thermo S and another company's estimates came back close but with very different approaches to cooling down a bedroom that was always hot. In the end, we decided Thermo's solution sounded more logical. In the end we went with Thermo S because of Caden's expertise with duct work. He recommended duct sealing and adding an extra vent in addition to insulation. Day of, the team showed up on time, did the work efficiently, and cleaned up their mess. The difference was instant. The air felt cooler coming out of the ducts, the A/C comes on less, the hot bedroom is cooler, and the house is quieter. I do have bad allergies/chemical sensitivities and the duct sealing was rough but after 3-4 days the smell faded and it's been fine. I would say communication with the office could have been better but they always returned calls the same day. All and all a very positive experience--I would highly recommend Thermo-S.

2/17/25: Quick history - our unit is about 8 yrs old, installed by Goettl. We have had issues w/…read morethem from day one. Be it poor communication, to misinformation, to techs not putting the fuses back into the box. Needless to say, we have experienced a lot of crap w/ them. Their latest? They wanted $473 to fix/replace the whip, which apparently covers the wires outside (see photo). They didn't "want to scare us" but said it's a fire hazard; they told us this after doing their inspection, then sitting in their van for about 15 minutes -- it felt as if they were simply out there, planning their latest scheme to bilk us out of money. Needless to say, after this latest scare tactic, we opted to get a second opinion with REEis A/C. Whoa, what a difference? REEis sent out James, who was very friendly, clean, professional, NO SCARE TACTICS. :-) He jerry rigged (or should I say James rigged) the whip, simply pushing it back up into place. Who knew it was that easy? It didn't stay that way, but more on that later. James did point out that our dryer lint was blowing back into the house & building up (something Goettl never pointed out, insert angry emoji). A couple weeks later, we made the appointment to have James come back to clean the dryer vent and try again w/ the whip, as it fell back down. The whip he simply zipped into place with two zip ties. I imagine that won't last forever, especially in the AZ brutal summers, but at least it will give us time to save up money until we opt to have REEis replace it. Whew! The dryer vent was Nasty w/ a capital N. He cleaned that out lickity split. I must say, our dryer seems to be operating much more efficiently since then -- and now we know to call REEis in another 3-5 yrs to have it cleaned out again. James did mention their membership rate during his first visit but he did not apply any pressure at all to try to get us to sign up -- which is very much appreciated, and is one of the reasons why we are going to cancel Goettl's stupid Sadie membership and get on with REEis.

TERRIBLE - we paid over $2k for an A/C repair, the technician came out as scheduled on Friday early…read moreafternoon, worked on the unit, told us someone would come by THAT NIGHT or the next morning to fix the A/C. NO ONE SHOWED UP, customer service has one woman working (Jenn) who did what she could but she can't contact techs or any of her managers. We have now been without A/C for 48 hours plus AFTER spending $2k and being told the A/C would be fixed yesterday. Not 24 hours, not excellent care, just a bunch of overpriced services performed by people who do not want to work and do not care about lying to customers. Go anywhere else in the valley. Would give 0 stars if I could.
