And so, I decided on throwing my baby's party at Bishop Museum's great lawn. With that said, I needed to find a tent company that could supply tables, chairs, and lighting for that amount of guests. Hawaii Tents & Events happened to be the best option especially for the price paid. Other tent companies I researched would have charged easily over $5,000 (without tax) and one company even quoted me close to $10,000. With Hawaii Tents & Events, I did pay a little under $5,000. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. The tents, tables and chairs weren't in the best condition but they weren't bad looking either. I did knock off a star because my communication with Tracey (Director of Sales & Marketing), though not the worst, was also not the greatest. Over the phone, she seemed really nice. It was just, at times, it was hard to get a hold of her. I didn't get responses as quick as I would have liked, especially when it came down to figuring out the layout of everything. A lot of my other vendors were dependent on the final layout and some decisions throughout my party planning had to be held off longer than I would have wanted. The mediocre communication, however, would not keep me from booking with them in the future. Their prices really cannot be beat!

Was kinda stressed looking for someone who could set up a secured covering at a reasonable price. Luckily found Honolulu party rentals. Ryan promptly returned my call and worked within my budget. He promised to come by at 730am and arrived on time! Wut?? Yup! Set up took 30 min (to haul everything up to the pool deck and put everything together) and ryan came back for the breakdown at the agreed time. Ultra professional, respectful, and reasonable. There are 2 physical locations - Pearlridge and Windward Mall. My child's birthday was coming up, so I booked BOTH locations for a "Stay and Play" session. You can either call or book online for a session. A "Stay and Play" session starts off with choosing a costume. There are many options to choose from - unicorn, princess, mermaid, cheerleader, etc. After changing, your child is whisked off for a makeover which includes nail painting and face painting. How fun! Kids can have a little tea party with the Storybook staff (who are also dressed up), dance to the music, and/or have a photoshoot with the props. Although both locations have different props, they are both magical in their own right. I mean, check out my pictures. The colors, the lighting ... everything just adds to the ambiance and makes a very unique and unforgettable experience for the little ones. You won't regret bringing your kid(s) here. When booking online I always get a response within the day either confirming or letting me know they are already booked. I really appreciate that! We just hosted a birthday party for my 4 year old granddaughter and 60 guests and were happy to have balloon artist Gideon return! Gideon is always on time, comes 20-30 min ahead of time to set up, brings his own extension cord for outlet, and is prepared with all tools, supplies and signage. He has a nice picture board showing all the designs both classic and new that may appeal to your guests, young and old alike! This year the popular item was a balloon purse holding a puppy! But he also did some beautiful large Unicorns, cute backpacks, swords, and I saw many other colorful creations! We reserved him for two hours and he sculpted about 50-60 art within that time frame. The prices are so reasonable and you really get the best bang for your buck because he is always the WOW of the party! Gideon is VERY professional, dresses nice, easy set up and is patient with the children. Their entire family is involved in this business so no matter which artist comes to your party, you will be thrilled and so will your guests! Adventure Balloons definitely made the party! I'd say the only thing that rivaled them was the spectacular view... because OMG, I was melting! Oahu Country Club is GORGEOUS!!!! Once everyone saw the first intricate balloon design, the kids AND adults were lining up to get their hands on one! I even saw one of the moms walking past my table with a full on ladybug outfit. We went to the Aiea location. Booking was easy and the worker I spoke with was accommodating and flexible. They were able to fit our youngest and oldest guests, 1yo and 13yo respectively, into the mix without compromising price and service. And when my child showed changes in who her favorite characters were, I called and making modifications was easy! It was so nice just being able show up and enjoy the party. I didn't have to plan or order or set up or break down. LOVELY. I did bring our own goodie bags to pass out in addition to the goodie bags that were included only because we did a non-food event and so I wanted to be extra and send our guests off with a tea party to-go. The event went wonderfully. So much so that I wanted to cry happy tears at how much my kiddo (and all the kiddos) we're enjoying themselves. We did add-on a visit from Rapunzel, which was our kiddo's favorite part. She relished in all the attention Rapunzel gave her. The makeover was so good! Better than overpriced face painting at Disneyland. You actually get what you're paying for. The kids were over the moon at getting fancied up and playing with the characters. The littles are still very much believers in the magic so being able to play with a fairy and learn that a mermaid used magic to have her legs for the party was nothing short of magical. As a girl mom let me just rejoice and say that my daughter and I are so happy to have another location open up closer to home often frequenting the Winward location.My 3 year old is now very much in her mermaid princess era & loves getting face painting, glitter tattoos, and her nails done. The makeovers available here make her so happy. The first time daddy took her upon finding it in the mall for the first time and did an express makeover which is a quick walk in makeover. The second time I took her on walk in and it was a special moment as the mermaid who did her makeover happened to be in costume as her character mascot for her first birthday and remembered her by pictures. It was a sweet moment for all of us. This time we decided to reserve an actual package and did not regret it as spots filled up quickly after the new year. You pay half when you reserve your spot which can be done through their website and the other half after your appointment. The Mermaid squad staff was excellent and did well trading off and switching back and forth between the little princesses. It was organized, managed well and always with friendly sweet smiles that only mermaids can give princesses can. Despite that there being only two of them they both did a great job. The package included choosing an outfit to borrow for the session whether you wanted to have a mermaid be part of your world or save the day as a superhero to becoming a beautiful princess attending a royal ball it was definitely worth it with the beautiful photo backdrops and display and after the makeover, it was time to play! The smile on my daughter's face was priceless. Making friends there too was a bonus. We will return very soon making sure to reserve the appointment to allow her to have more fun time on her next visit!
