I watched as the guy molded a giant mound of shaved ice and selected strawberry and mango. I commented that I hadn't had a snow cone in years and he said snow cones are different than shaved ice. I asked how and he explained that the shaved ice keeps the flavor better whereas with a snow-cone, you get ice pieces and the flavor soaks right to the bottom...he was clearly knowledgeable! I wasn't convinced until I tried it. It was refreshing, without chunks of ice to bite into, and the flavor stayed even at the top of the shaved ice mound. Definitely worth checking out. There is no seating in this small spot, but the riverfront is nearby and there are picnic tables for when the weather is nice.

I told him that the door and everything else said that they close at 9:00. He said that those were summer hours and that they hadn't replaced them on the door or anywhere else. I asked what time do they close for winter hours. He said, and I quote, "I'm not really sure, I think 8:30." I knew at that moment that he was lying and didn't want to make our food.
