The greeting from the hostess was warm and friendly; she is an asset and really makes you feel welcome. Once we were seated and finally finished our struggle with what to order, we got our drinks. I had to go with the One Night in Bangkok again because it's just a really nuanced and complex mix of tangy, spicy and a hint of sweet. The smoke show also is impressive. My cousin tried the Berry-cation from the summer menu and it was perfect for her - very fresh and a little sweeter. Cousin-in-law got the Thai Goddess, with tomato, and it was very interesting - not quite fruity and not overly vegetal - very cool. Our food was amazing. The first several minutes were just a series of different people saying "Oh my God" as we tried different things. There was no weak dish. We enjoyed a good mix of seafood and meat dishes, that included Golden Fungi, Phuket Jor Pu, Namya Pu, Kurobuta Pork in Panang Curry Sauce, Hung Lay Short Ribs, the Samurai Signature Set, Kinnic Crisp Shell, Nam Prik Aon, Waygu A Rockfire, Mango Sticky Rice and a complementary birthday Yuzu Cheesecake. This restaurant has a way of really creating a special experience and hits on all the important points. Stunning,

The food was wonderful, I loved the summer cocktail, and the crab rangoon was the best I've had in quite some time. The golden fungi was pleasantly spicy and so crispy, my friend who doesn't like mushrooms enjoyed it. I loved the chashu bao buns, the pork was so tender and the softness of the bao buns was very nice. Definitely have to stop by and give them a try, I know I'd like to again.

How can you not love (or at least vaguely enjoy) this fun and oddball bar in Bayview. But who…read moredoesn't love an oddball? I love Blackbird's wild and eclectic decor. I feel very much at home because we share very similar tastes in home decor. It feels very cozy as soon as I enter this bars. I believe we had two wonderful bartenders who took our order and quickly brought back out drinks. Great service, dimly but warmly lit (which I love to help me avoid migraine triggers), lots of conversation and chattering going on around us. Also, PINBALL! My partner and I spent a decent chunk of change having all the fun. You should really go. And experience it all!

The have an impressive selection of WI beers, a great (and generous) old fashioned, and awesome trivia night. The bar was busy and the bartender eventually learned my name which I had zero expectation of since there were so many people. Love the vibe inside, the decor was cool and the trivia host even joked that maybe you'd find an answer to a question in all of it. For the trivia, I really appreciated the format. 3 rounds, each with 2 categories of questions. There aren't really long drawn out breaks in between questions which keeps things moving. They do take a break between each round, which is perfect so you can grab your next drink. The categories are fun and challenging. Losers get to pick a category for next week which I think is a fun twist as long as the category isn't super niche. But I guess that is the advantage of you are the loser that shows up the next week to play. Overall fantastic experience. I would recommend Blackbird to anyone who wants a hipster dive or a fun night of trivia.
