Thank you Yelp for bringing me to Aloha cakes! My son graduated from ASU and I live out of state. We hosted a celebration and I knew I wanted a cake to wow him. He certainly was excited and so was everyone who saw the cake. The details were amazing. Oh, and don't forget the flavors on the inside! White cake with guava layers. Aloha cakes went over and beyond with this and exceeded every expectation I had. They delivered to our special event and even made sure the details were perfectly set. I am surprised I could write this review with all the tears in my eyes. read more

We had the most amazing cake! I came into town for my friends birthday and found Aloha Cakes AZ online and it was just what I was looking for. The ordering process was super simple and pickup was easy and convenient. But the best part was the taste! We ordered the Orange Lilikoi because we absolutely love passion fruit and it's hard to find a bakery with a passion fruit flavor offering! The cake was delicious! Not so much orange flavor but that was ok with us. The Lilikoi flavor was delightful - nice and tart but not too much. I would highly recommend this bakery to anyone looking for a great cake, especially one with a tropical flair!! read more

Amazing customer service. I live on Oahu, but my daughter's bf lives in Arizona. We were looking for a good cake place that had a touch of aloha since this was his first birthday away from home. From contacting them, to placing the order and the getting it to him was seamless and soooo easy without even being in the same state. She even delivered it to the dorms. Aloha cakes is a treasure for me. I grew up in the islands and I love the Guava Chiffon cake so much. It was a bit pricey at first, but when I saw the amazing cake, I was so happy!!! It has 4 layers of 8 inch round cake with delicious guava in the cake, frosting and icing (it's all there). I got it with the glaze on top, just like Liliha Bakery back home. The decorations on top were stunning. I can't wait to try the Haupia (coconut) cake next. Thank you for bringing some of the island spirit to the desert!!! read more

OMG! Aloha ! My hubby found this amazing woman with 5 stars on yelp for her cakes. It was super delicious, light and moist with a rich passion (lilkoi) fruit cream filling. It was not too sweet just extremely flavorful. 7 of us thought the cake was scrumptious. If you've been to Hawaii then you should be familiar with this delightful flavor. This is a marvelous find. If you are looking for a really special cake, look no further than Aloha Cakes. We've been visiting Scottsdale every year around March to celebrate my Mom's birthday and have tried almost every specialty cake bakery in the area. This year we tried Aloha Cakes, and it was the best of all the cakes we've had in the 15 years we've been visiting the area. We ordered the Hawaiian Chantilly Cake. It was absolutely gorgeous - amazing rich, chocolate cake with the most moist, flavorful and buttery frosting we've every had. It was decorated beautifully with colorful fondant flowers and leaves, and smothered in macadamia nuts, and packaged in a beautiful box. This is the second time I have ordered from Aloha cakes and I have to say Nenita always comes through with her amazing cakes and flavors. I had asked her to make a vegan cake and normally she doesn't have this on her original cake menu however, she took on this task with no hesitation and came through with a delicious cake well balanced with sweetness and moisture of the cake. Even the guest who are not vegan loved her vegan Haupia cake!! Thank you for making our brother's 40th birthday extra special!!! I contact Nenita at Aloha Cakes around the beginning of December to ask about getting a few cakes for Christmas Eve. She was quick to respond and let me know she was taking orders. After looking over the site a little more I ordered the Ube Dream cake and the Lilikoi Orange cake. Christmas Eve arrived and Nenita emailed me to let me know that her pickup location was not available due to remodeling and that she was going to deliver the cakes to me. I was very appreciative given that is a good 30 mile drive to my house from the original pick up location. Both cakes looked absolutely amazing, everyone was dying to get into them to taste them. Once we cut into them they did not disappoint. The flavors of both cakes were amazing. Having never had nor heard of Ube I didnt know what to expect, but the slightly sweet vanilla nutty flavor was amazing. The lilikoi orange cake had incredibly vibrant flavors. The citrus flavors shined through and made the cake delicious. Everyone loved the cakes and kept asking me where I got them. I will definitely order from Aloha Cakes AZ and Nenita again. Normally I'm not a huge fan of store-bought cupcakes. They are typically far too sweet, including "sprinkles". I ordered these for my mom's birthday because we are from Hawaii and I thought it would be fun to do something with flavors from home. Not only did they get delivered to my home but they were absolutely the best cupcakes I have ever bought! They were not too sweet, I ate the whole thing I didn't have to scrape off the frosting. Aloha Cakes made the best birthday cake for my husbands birthday. Cream cheese frosting with guava filling..so delicious!! Everyone at his party raved about it. I wanted to get my husband a fun cake and the little alcohol bottles on the cake were just perfect for the occasion. The picture doesn't do the cake justice...so awesome and different. My husband's birthday was coming up and our family was flying in to help celebrate so a great cake was needed and the stress was mounting as I poured over web sites, reviews and pictures. I selected the coconut cake and couldn't have been happier. If you eat with your eyes first this cake qualifies as delicious just by artful decorating. Once you cut and serve it doesn't disappoint. I am super bummed as I asked for two dozen cupcakes for my daughter's graduation which I inquired about 2 weeks ahead of time. First of all, she was only having me communicate via her website which would then respond to my email but then I would have to go back to the chat function to respond. Finally I asked for a more direct communication and she gave me her gmail address and number. I then heard no response about flavors, pick up location, or time or anything until I got an invoice. I paid that right away and then sent more emails and voicemails with again no response. Finally, I just asked to cancel since I was hearing nothing from the owner of which she did right away and refunded but now I'm scrambling to figure out something else for graduation the day before. She told me she was ultimately too busy to figure out getting my cupcakes delivered. She could have just communicated that to me and we could have picked up ourselves or canceled earlier. Not a way to run a business. Super disappointed as we have loved her cakes in the past. Never again. read more

I ordered a unicorn designed cake, strawberry with strawberry filling. The design was absolutely beautiful but the cake itself was dry and the flavor was poor. I wasn't even sure if it was strawberry or vanilla cake it was so flavorless. And since the cake had no hue of pink I figured it might be vanilla. I was really excited to eat it based on the reviews of other yelpers but was really let down. Everyone in my family agreed about the taste. No moisture in the cake what so ever, it almost seemed like the cake rounds were baked days before pickup. Borderline stale. I had a cake made at albertsons a few weeks prior that honestly tasted better. For a 90.00 cake it was truly a disappointment flavor-wise, although she did do a really nice job decorating. read more

My thoughtful other half ordered me a guava cake that was shaped in to little sushi's on a round, pink 6' cake sitting on a sushi roller matt. It came complete with a happy birthday note written on chopsticks. It was the MOST ADORABLE & ONO cake I have ever tasted in the mainland, hands down. The guava was light and fresh. I'm amazed at the details and all the love that was put in to making this cake so special. I recently found Aloha Cakes at the North Scottsdale Farmer's Market on Shea Rd and the 101 and I am so happy I stopped by to check it out. I ended up buying the Haupia Cake and the Guava cake and OMG! One bite of the Haupia cake and I was immediately transported back to the Hawaiian Islands. It's so moist and the yummy coconut pudding filing is not overly sweet - so good!! Her Guava cake is yummy - so light and so refreshing too. I just checked her website and next time I will definitely try her Lilikoi Ricotta cake (passion fruit cake), just reading the description made me salivate! I first discovered Aloha Cakes at the Western Adventure...thanks Yelp! The cake was so delicious at the event that I knew I had to order one for the BF's birthday. Working with the people at Aloha was a pleasure. Nenita was very sweet. They delivered the cake to my downtown Phoenix apt on a Saturday for free....it was awesome! The lady who delivered the cake was also so nice. They even made a cute happy birthday flag for me to put in the cake. Well, I ordered the haupia cake and it was sooooo good. It was light and coconut -y. Perfect for the BF's birthday. The cake was even better the second day than it was the first. For those missing Hawaii and have a sweet tooth, this is the place for you. The skinny I placed an order a few weeks ago for my girlfriends birthday and she is always going on about guava cakes and rainbow cakes from back home. I found this plae after a quick yelp search and am supremely happy with the results. She made a custom guava cake, it was shaped like sushi rolls :-) one of best cakes I have ever had the guava was sweet but not overly sweet and the cake was soft and moist she added a few shots of lilikoi cups. I had issues with my car for pick up and she was sweet enough to deliver for a fee which was worth it for me. The cake was about 20$ and I would have paid more for quality. The bad Nothing she is amazing!!! Overall If you are wanting to try something new for a change and or have to pick up a traditional cake she does amazing work and look for the yelp deals they usually have one. read more

Thanks so much Nenita. My wedding cake was pretty and very delicious. Actually absolutely delicious!!! The venue gave me to top to save for our first year anniversary but the cake was so good that I cut it and we both had a big piece back at the hotel... Tier 1 and Tier 2 was the Vanilla Haupia cake and Tier 3 was the Ricotta cake with passion fruit, kiwi, strawberry and banana filling with whipped cream frosting. My cake was phenomenal. Guests stated, "Oh gosh Nadia I had 2 pieces of cake..." It doesn't get tastier than Aloha Cakes. Thank you so much! read more

Aloha Cakes AZ started out of necessity. Growing up in Hawaii I enjoyed all the tropical flavor cakes especially the Guava Cake. It's my favorite tropical flavor cake of all time. I couldn't find a bakery that made this cake. I tested numerous cake recipe's added a few tweaks and finally came up with the perfect Guava cake recipe. Our menu also includes the local flavors: Haupia (coconut cake most popular so far), Lilikoi (passion fruit), Dobash (chocolate) and the most recent addition Passion, Orange and Guava cake.

Wendell Tea Company (America's oldest tea house), and everything presented so beautifully.
