I stay at this hotel quite often and I have to say that I really, really like it for many reasons. 1. Location: a) it's in the Domain, a trendy outdoor mall with good shops, restaurants, and a small movie theater; b) convenience -- just off Mopac on the Northern side of town 2. Staff: super friendly and always helpful 3. The Bar: trendy and good service 4. Dog friendly 5. Good workout facility One draw back is the lack of a hot tub even though they have a pool. I think the best thing about this hotel is the location. It's right outside of a very large shopping and restaurant hub, so you have a TON of options for eating/grabbing a drink and even some shopping as well. It's a super cute area, honestly. I'm a fan of the snack area they have in the lobby. Super great prices. They have all sorts of beverages, and tons of snacks. Two whole freezers full of different ice creams, there's also beef jerky, fruits, oatmeals and cereals, a cold case with salads, yogurts, sandwiches, and more! The few times that I did grab snacks the prices were VERY reasonable. All of the staff that I came across were very nice. They were all as helpful as they could be. It's dog friendly which is pretty cool. Now on to the things that I'm not a total fan of... My room was on the fourth floor, facing the pool. It was a Friday night and I had to be up at 4:45 am to catch my flight the next morning. There were people out until close to 11 pm yelling and basically screaming down by the pool. I assume they were drunk, because the bar isn't far from the pool, but I feel like that noise should've been regulated for people who were actually trying to sleep. I noticed that a lot of the people staying here were very young and the bars are within walking distance, so I'm sure drunk people on the weekends are common here. The head of the bedframe is a foam, light brown. Very simple, no frills, and looks decent. Once I moved the pillows, I could see all of the scratch marks on the lower part of the bedframe... We're all adults here, so we know EXACTLY what all those scratch marks on the bed frame are from. I'm not a prude by any means, but I also think they should either invest in some new bed frames or do their best to repair those issues because it just looks trashy. On to what really irked me. They completely messed up my reservation and I became aware the day that I was checking out. I had the room booked from a Wednesday to Saturday. On one of the nights, I went and stayed at another hotel but we kept this reservation as is - So while I was gone, my room shouldn't have been touched because I still had it reserved. When I was packing up all of my stuff when I was leaving, I realized they took my boots and my book that I was reading, because I had left those things behind on the one night I was gone. I asked the front desk about it and they said they had me checked out on Friday and not Saturday, which was wrong and it was verified that I'd be there til Saturday upon check-in. So I asked the front desk if they had a lost and found and he checked it for me, but he said he already knew that my stuff was going to be in the housekeeping manager's office and that he couldn't in there until she got to work. Well, I didn't have time to wait for her to get to work because I had a plane to catch, so basically I guess I was just SOL. One of my favorite pairs of shoes and a book that I was ALMOST done with. Now I'll never know how things turn out for Madeline and Jane. :( All in all, I would say this place is decent because of the location but I definitely would not choose to stay here again. read more

Maybe it's not fair for me to review these guys--my stay was quite short. But I've stayed at other Aloft locations, and if you blindfold me and take me in, I wouldn't have known which one I was at. So the details are in the other parts--the location, the staff, and other factors. First of all, this is a small journey from downtown. It's fine. You'll get over it. But you will have to drive your rental car in to town, or take a cab ride. That said, you'll probably see the savings in rate. As location goes, it's surrounded by shops. Sure, it's a little strip-mally, but deal with it. Take that cab ride to town and you'll be okay. The staff was on top of my cab ride. Had one waiting in the morning for me to get to the airport. They also helped me print out my boarding pass and get on my way. Here's the thing about short stays out of town--you really don't have time to dive in and see what the hotel, the people, or really any of it is like over a long period of time. But you can get enough to know if you want to spend more time there. And as for Aloft, and Austin overall, the answer is yes: I've seen enough and want to spend more time there. read more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days during our visit to Austin, TX. We stayed at the Hilton in downtown before and I wanted to try somewhere more hip and modern. To my expectations, Aloft was indeed, hip and modern just like W Hotel. We arrived at the hotel around 11pm and front desk personnel was very friendly and accommodating. During our stay I'd say almost everything was great except for 2 things. 1) I wasn't thrilled with the quality of their sheets and pillows. It was not up to par with what I'm used to. Sheets felt really cheap. Pillows were not down pillows. 2) For some reason, our hotel room was not turned down the second night. We didn't have any signs up so I didn't understand why they didn't come in and clean up. Overall, we would stay here again, but I just might bring my own sheets and pillows! read more

**Beware This Could Happen to You Too** I stayed overnight at this Aloft hotel at the end of Oct. A week later, I received an additional $100 charge on my credit card. I called the business office for over a week to determine the reason for the cost but never received a callback. Finally, I addressed the lack of response with a front desk clerk who advised me that the charge was a smoking fee from smoking in the room. I DO NOT and HAVE NEVER SMOKED! I informed the front desk but was told the housekeeper is responsible for determining the charge and there is no way to dispute it. I again asked for a return call from the manager or someone in the business office, but here I am six weeks later, still no call. The charge is now in dispute with my credit card company. It's unfortunate because I liked the Aloft up until this incident and had stayed with the chain twice in as many months. I had planned to continue doing so as I traveled over the holiday season, but this smoke charge burned! They will not receive another penny from my travel clients nor me. If you're smart and don't like giving away money, you would do the same. read more

This hotel had the 2 most important things for me: 1. A good gym and 2. A comfy bed. While the rooms are a bit small (typical of Alofts around the country) they are clean and modern (which can mean a little sterile). Yes, there is construction nearby, but I fail to see how that is the hotel's fault (some people are always looking for a discount). Aloft is conveniently located to above average chain restaurants and a middle of the road shopping mall (Macys, etc). A small outside patio is relaxing with some comfy chairs and a fireplace. The pool is nothing to speak of, but I had no intentions on swimming. The bar serves its purpose. read more

I love W hotel and they are expensive so aloft (part of W) is the best option for my recent business trip. It was my first trip to Austin and someone recommended aloft which is near my meeting place. I love the hotel lobby which is colorful and funky. The room concept is about loft so everything is open (they do have door for bathroom). Love - Free high speed wireless internet and they are very fast - Bed is comfy and king size :-) - Shower water pressure is good - Bliss bathroom product - Excellent customer service - Complimentary house coffee - Love the comfortable towels (maybe they are new) Not like - The AC in the bedroom is noisy facing the bed so I caught a cold - The pillow is way to soft and not supportive Overall, love my first experience at aloft and will be back again for my next business trip. I am not a big fan of shopping so having The Domain does not make any difference but convenient especially for dinner. read more

One of the worst experiences I have had at a hotel. As background, I was and am a major traveler and spend something like 3-4 nights per week in hotels. Some fantastic and some less so. Let's say I have spent something like 1600 room nights in hotels in the last 20 years. I have seen it all both good and bad on a global basis, (China, Italy, Germany, Singapore NYC, SF and more...electronics biz) First Yelp I have written on a hotel. plan to write second on how great Renaissance Arboretum was. I set up a room at Aloft hotel in the Domain for my girlfriends birthday through a third party. Confirmed King bed in Domain so we could walk to our special dinner and McCormick and Schmick's. (Awesome BTW, try the Roasted Peppers and White Cheese Mash). Walked in at 3:30PM, ready to book and get ready for her surprise. Walked in and talked to somewhat confused person at desk. Said my name and handed ID and CC. "Ah what". First sign. Sorry sir, we only have 2 queen beds. ahh I confirmed a king. Sorry we are busy. So is there a discount for 2 queen beds. Nope, same price because it is what we have. Ahh, not what I confirmed, can you upgrade. Why yes, for $60 bucks ($179 rack rate) Ahh no. Wait went outside, called the Renaissance in Arborteum. Same price. Cancel Aloft. Fantastic night at new hotel with great attitude and service. Also sent up wine and chips and salsa for birthday present. Highly recommend Renaissance. Bookings was great too to make sure I was not charged at Aloft To the jackass dude behind the counter who said 'have a nice day" with attitude, glad you did not say 1 more word. All in all I've had a better experience at a Residence Inn. Location is good, hotel is not so much. Pool is tiny. Rooms are arranged cramped. If you and your partner are thinking about both getting ready at the same time in the bathroom, think again. Not even possible with the setup. Bar was not serving on a Saturday as people were checking in. Bartender was there and setting up. Here's a suggestion, have the bartender come in earlier and open on a Saturday as people arrive for a weekend! Food was basically to go food, but had healthy options. I would not recommend staying here for a weekend get away or anything really, except maybe a single night business trip because it is next door to the venue. read more

Great location, quick check-in to a well appointed clean room on the no pets floor (5th). Water pressure in the shower was awesome after staying at two doubletree hotels it was nice to have a hot pressurized shower. Walking distance to everything including the Yardhouse. Staff was helpful and efficient. I would highly recommend this location and chain. read more

I feel like I'm back in Dallas with the clientele here! If you're looking to stay somewhere other that south Austin or downtown you definitely should consider the Domain area. Sure, you don't get to see people "keeping Austin weird," but if you don't mind that this is the place for you. This aloft is honestly like any other aloft I've been in. Large beds, complimentary WiFi, nice clean bathrooms with awesome products, and great customer service. I like how you can just walk a couple of minutes and you're at the heart of the shopping area. Check out the nearby restaurants later at night as many of them run amazing happy hour specials. read more

We were genuinely looking forward to our stay at Aloft Austin at The Domain, but were disappointed on nearly every front. We really enjoy the contemporary look and feel of both the lobby and the rooms, but in nearly every major area that matters, we were very disappointed. The bed itself is hard as a rock. We enjoy a firmer mattress, but these mattresses are like futons, and the pillows were equally hard and quite uncomfortable. My wife and I both woke repeatedly through the night, and by morning felt like we'd been beat up with sore necks, back, and shoulders. The pocket door dividing the toilet and shower from the sink and vanity was so heavy it was a challenge to open and close. The toilet paper simply could not have been any more thin. Nearly unusable. The view from all the windows on our side of the hotel are completely obscured by a massive parking garage. The windows on the other side of the building face acres of empty construction lots, which will no doubt very soon be filled with more buildings. The pool is really just for kids. It's only 2' deep from end to end, and is so tiny it can't really fit more than a half dozen people. But the worst part of all is the incredible amount of noise from The Park -- the hotel's patio bar on the ground floor. Despite the fact our room was on the 5th floor, the crowd noise well past 2 AM made it nearly impossible to fall asleep. If you like a very modern hotel with impractical furnishings, can sleep comfortably on your floor, and are not awakened by any amount of outside noise, this hotel is for you. But if you prefer a comfortable bed and a reasonably quiet room, you'll want to look elsewhere. We'll stay somewhere else next time. read more

As a boutique hotel it has its charms, from quality customer service to sleek style and a plethora of modern amenities. But overall the Aloft suffers one major flaw that can make or break one's experience when traveling to another city: location, location, location. Depending on where your room is, your view overlooks either a parking garage or a barren landscape of fields and construction sites. That's because it's in The Domain, an upscale shopping center far away from downtown that has become a suburb all its own. Like any suburb gathering, it also draws a crowd looking for someplace to drink. On my last night I went to bed at midnight and then laid awake listening to the sounds emanating upwards from the club below - screams, bros fighting, thumping music, car alarms - basically every annoying sound you can imagine. It was all balanced by an experience with exceptional service, but it left a bad taste. As a hotel chain, Aloft has a lot of great qualities and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of their locations in the future. Unfortunately this one will be low on my list. read more

This is the first time that I've stayed at an Aloft. I'm hoping that it is the last time. This concept really tries hard to be hip and cool but just comes across as cheap. It has all of the right stuff (if you don't want drawers or a place to sit to watch the TV) but it is all cheaply implemented. There were many little things that bothered me such as the fact that the flat screen TV is not adjustable so it is very hard to see it if you are sitting at the desk. But the biggest issue that I had was the air conditioning system. It doesn't appear to run when you aren't in the room so you are guaranteed to find you room to be 77 degrees when you enter it. Secondly, it BLASTS directly onto the bed so you have to build some sort of wind blast deflector out of pillows to sleep. Finally, the thermostat is on the wall by the blower so it is also getting hit with that same blast. This causes the thermostat to think that it is cooler than it really is in the room so it shuts off the blower too early. Now you are into a very annoying and loud cycle of blast, hot, blast, hot, blast, hot. read more

I actually love Aloft before this experience and now I'm warning other dog owners to stay away from this hotel. Not only were they rude to me, they also entered my room without calling me when my dog was barking. I had left for literally 15 minutes before they did this. The policy on their website doesn't say anything about doing this and the manager was incredibly rude after the fact. Not once did I feel respected. I will NEVER stay with them again. If you do stay with them, they expect you to never leave your dog unattended. What type of hotel is this? It's fine I guess if you don't have a dog or don't plan to go anywhere while you're in town. And multiple inquires to Westin and Starwood Preferred still didn't help. Hotel manager couldn't even get my email address right in his unsympathetic reply. Shocking. read more

I saw some mediocre reviews on Yelp, but as a Hotel Snob, I had a super stay at ALoft. My favorite hotel ever is the Ritz Carlton in Seoul, and I tend to compare every other experience to that one, so this should give you an idea of where ALoft ranks in my book. I did not have any water pressure problems in my room, and the bedding was lovely. It smelled of bleach and was crisp clean. The entire room felt clean to me, and I am a Germaphobe who almost had a break down recently at a Crown Plaza in NOLA due to cleanliness issues. I usually gage a hotel's cleanliness based on whether or not I have to take a Xanex to fall asleep, and my stay at ALoft was a no xanie night! Woohoo! This hotel is dog friendly, and I enjoyed seeing some posh pooches in the lobby. I am in love with ALofts signature scent which is pumped into the air in the lobby. They should sell that as a candle. The only downside was that we wanted to enjoy a day at the pool before we headed out for drinks at the Domain, and the pool here is tiny and about as deep as a bathtub. All in all, ALoft wins this Hotel Snob-Germaphobe's heart. read more

My favorite hotel in Austin for no-frills, personal travel. Listen, business and family travelers will greatly prefer the Marriott and Hilton value brands. I get that. But if you're young, no kids, and don't care if you get free breakfasts in the morning, then I strongly recommend Alofts. Briefly, why this one rocks: - Price-Friendly. For me, it generally runs about $80-$120 depending on season. Doesn't bust the bank. - Starwood Points: Honestly, my favorite points system of the conglomerate brands. - Location: It's connected to the Domain, so if you're ever just wanting to chill near the hotel, there's plenty of options. There's a Starbucks for the morning and shopping/food during the day. There's even a sports bar called Park connected to the hotel; we always say we're going to go, yet never end up finishing the night there. - Proximity to the Highway: It's right off Mopac. Yeah, it takes 20 minutes to drive to downtown, but that's still Speedy Gonzales compared to Houston traffic. - Dog-Friendly: Alofts are extremely dog friendly, and this one is no different. There's no cost to bring your dog (awesome!), and I've never heard a complaint from service staff about leaving our dog in the room. Oh, and the Domain is generally dog friendly as well. Feel free to bring your pup into most of the stores. - It's New!: The Aloft was built just a few years ago after The Domain area cropped up, and it shows. Everything feels generally fresh there; not just in the hotel, but the surrounding area as well. - Service with a Smile: Pretty much every time I go in. I wasn't impressed with this hotel. I was really excited to stay at Aloft because I heard that it's a very modern and cool boutique hotel. In reality it was more like a wannabe cool but so so on execution. we arrived pretty late at night and were excited to get our room. The guy at the lobby looked like he was doing us a favor when giving us the keys and even made a face when I asked questions like where is the gym or how does breakfast go. The entire place is indeed very modern with pop art style, however it didn't feel very lux (understatement). The room was disappointing. It had all the essentials but felt very "cold", I think because of the decor (sorry I don't have pictures to share, I was too depressed to even take some...). So why did I give it 3 stars (and not less): - The bed was great. Actually, it's on my top list of comfortable hotel beds I've tried! - They have a well equipped gym - You can always find parking there - It is close to "the domain" which has a lot of great shops Overall OK experience but next time I would probably go for another hotel. read more

Kim: "I've worked in sales for a number of years. I understand more than anyone how important personal customer service is when working with customers. Yes, it absoultely is awful and time consuming to be planning a wedding and continuing to run up against hurtles like these. To add insult to injury the "service" has been yes, professional, but COLD. There seems to be no personal warmth at all. Plus, I no longer have trust in this company. If they can't get their reservation/sales system down, how would it be to stay there? Worrisome. At this point I would NEVER recommend the aLoft as place for anyone to stay." What made Kim so mad?? Read below... Once upon a time there was a bride-to-be by the name of Kim. Now this bride was thought to be the chillest of brides. She always had a smile on her face and smelled the roses as she passed. Those were the days. Now she is red in the face from aggrivation and anger. It's as if a hulk-type personality had laid dorment and had the chance to finally emerge. This was all because of.... aLoft hotel at the Domain in Austin, Texas. It started out small. An email that Kim had sent just checking on the possibility of having a cocktail party Friday before the wedding day.... no response. So then Kim called the sales department where wedding blocks live. Kim and the salesperson played phone tag ending with Kim leaving the final message (actually, two messages). aLoft did not return the message. A week later Kim got an email from a relative informing her that they had tried to book the hotel and the reservation department had not had the wedding block in the system. Kim called the sales department, left a message and to her delightful surprised sales actually returned the call! From there was informed that there had been a glitch in the systema and the wedding block was not up and running. A few days after that Kim got a call from another relative that said they tried to book the room from Thur-Sun and she was told she could only get the wedding rate for Fri and Sat. Kim thought this was odd because she had already discussed with sales about needing that block a few days before because people were staying longer than the standard 2 days. They had previously said "we'll take care of that for you". Yeah, right. So Kim calls the aLoft sales again and has to request that they change the room dates for the wedding block... And now Kim has recieved yet another call from another relative saying that they tried to book and ran into the same thing. They were informed they could only book the wedding rate from Fri and Sat. That was the last straw. I'm writing about it. read more

It's 2:30 in the morning when I write this review. I'm only awake because I'm experiencing some of the worst sleep I've ever experienced. When the bars close the streets get so loud and you hear every rev of the engine, every car horn, every car alarm, etc. You can hear the chatter from the people and it sounds like mass chaos. I'll probably be awake again in a few hours when the garage truck goes by like I was last night. I'd recommend if you do stay at this hotel going far higher than the 3rd floor or skipping it altogether. The extra star I've given here is simply because everything else about the hotel is great but my sleep is precious so the lack of sleep I'm expecting is super disappointing. read more

Beautiful, centrally located to high end shops and food choices, clean and really lives up to the Aloft (SPG) brand name. I have stayed at this hotel 3x now for business within the past year and it is by far my favorite. While there is not food cooked here, the bars and restaurants in the area give you a great variety. The Park at the Domain has the BEST freaking hamburger I've experienced in Texas. I know, strong statement. Pros: Clean, trendy, friendly staff, and good value for buck. If you have a pet, they will place you on a pet friendly floor - away from us allergic to your dogs :-) Cons: I have none which is huge because I travel weekly and stay at hotels all over. read more

WHAT A DUMP!! For $200 a night?! This hotel is no better than a Motel 6. The rooms are dirty, walls are scuffed up. There are patch jobs very noticeable on the walls and you can't even crack a window for air in these rooms. The room I got smelled of bleach from the towels and sheets and we had to smell it all night long. The shower handle was off its line a bit and seemed to be on its last leg. The carpeting is old and coming, there are no glasses in the room just plastic, JUST LIKE MOTEL 6 and they put a volume control on their tvs. Can't go past 25. Anyone who had a flat screen knows 25 isn't loud. We had to turn off the air to hear the tv. Ridiculous. What are we paying for? Not luxurious, not even bearable. Don't stay here. I booked this place for a bachelorette party this past weekend. There were a total of 5 girls. I got two connecting rooms for two nights with the Better Tomorrow Rate (40% off the second night). I originally wanted to get a hotel in downtown but it was way more expensive and there was a daily parking fee. No parking fees here! Plus downtown was only a 20 minute drive from here. I'm so glad that I went with Aloft instead. The front desk was super friendly and helpful throughout our stay here. They got cabs for us one night to downtown/6th street. It costs around $30+ one way without tip. Our rooms were a good size, clean, and decorated simple and modern. You'll find Bliss bathroom products. They give you two complimentary bottled waters each day. Plus, free wifi. I liked the plug and play station at the table where we plugged in our speakers and phones. On Saturday night, there were $3 wells at the w xyz bar. Unfortunately, we didn't get to stop by here. I loved how the Aloft was walking distance to many shops/restaurants at the Domain. (You must eat at NoRTH and stop by The Steeping Room for some amazing tea). The first night we went to the Park, which is the restaurant attached to the Aloft. It was packed with people. There was a dj and small dance floor. All of the girls had a great time, from what we can remember! Okay, now on to what I didn't like so much: -the water pressure in the shower was too weak. it took forever to wash off the body wash -there is only one ice maker and its on the 3rd floor -no room service before 4pm. after a night of partying, we were too lazy too get out of bed. room service would of been fabulous then Overall, we had a great stay and I would come back. read more

Really cute and trendy hotel right behind the Domain (talk about convenience). Easy parking lot- no nasty downtown parking or fees. Don't forget to notice some of the cool things at the hotel: The elevator mats- blue gel that moves around as you step on it The artwork above the beds isn't just random circles. It's an up-close pic of the ends of colored pencils. Cool. Anyways, the good: Free wifi internet Bliss products- they even use the massive shampoo/body wash pumps. Saves the environment from all those plastic bottles. Bowl sink. haha, love those. Free water bottles The not so good: Cheap-ish sheets- the scratchy kind Weird AC system- one giant unit blowing on you Only two pillows! (I like tons of pillows in different levels of firmness) Weird service experience... when we checked in, the lady only gave us one room key, even though there were two people standing there. And, we stayed two nights and the staff came in to "clean" our room. Usually, hotels still clean it pretty thoroughly despite not checking out. They just don't change the sheets/towels. We stayed in Aloft for three nights while our daughter was in a UT camp. The last night she was joining us and we asked for a roll-away bed. We reminded them three time and every time the guys behind the counter acted like they never received the request before. They finally delivered the blow-up mattress that didn't work, they replaced it with another one that didn't work either. We finally gave up about midnight and she had to sleep on the floor. The whole stay was less than pleasant. The hot water was turned off for several hours as we were getting ready for dinner. The little things are just inconvenient- like super heavy doors, fitness equipment not working, noises etc. The people behind the counter come across as confused and unconfident. This review is after staying at this specific Aloft property on four occasions over the last six months. I think the concept of this brand is a good one, it just isn't executed too well, at least at this location. The property itself is laid out well, and the lobby area is designed very well with a modern tone to it. The rooms, however, feel more like an upscale motel, rather than a hotel. Somehow, even being a newer property, it feels dated. The build quality is just not there. The furnishings, including the bed, feel like leftovers from Westin properties that have been repurposed to the Aloft. In addition, the only dining option at this property is a somewhat attached, but not 'on-property', restaurant. I also found a Kona Grill menu in the rooms that provided delivery to the hotel (not the room, but to the lobby.) The only saving grace for this property, which gave it three stars instead of one or two, is the lobby W XYZ bar and its staff. The regular bartender is super friendly, very knowledgeable of craft cocktails, and makes you feel welcome. He touted his ability to make one of the best Old-Fashioned cocktails I've ever tasted and he did not disappoint! All in all, I wouldn't stay at this property if I had other choices, but it is good in a pinch for the value. I like the lovely vibe of the lobby, and the staff are very helpful. That's all the good stuff I can say here. I found the room mediocre, and the beds slightly lumpy. The hvac system is loud and incessant, the amenities in the room are extremely limited (no glass glasses? No corkscrew? No conditioner?) Also, if you prefer not to be kept up late with club noise, consider requesting a room above the 2nd floor. My room was directly over a club? restaurant? playing very loud dance music past midnight. For me the most important thing about a hotel is a good nights sleep, not here. The staff is friendly and the room is nice enough. The problem is the music coming from the adjoining club. It is 12:18am as I write this and I am almost certain there are glow sticks and poppers afoot. If you are into your room vibrating from terrible club music then room 233 is for you, but if you have a 4:45am wake up look elsewhere. There dog policy was awesome, sign the waiver and you are good to go and Lagunitas IPA is available in the lobby bar, but neither is worth no sleep. read more

Agree with the other comment about a good night's sleep...definitely did not get it. Overall was impressed until I found myself awake at 1:40 am ,even with ear plugs, and still hearing the blaring music coming from the club below. It is also interesting that the previous comment about sleep was back in February...now it is April, and obviously management has done nothing to improve the loud music at night. Informed the front desk as was given an ambiguous answer about how they are trying to "work" with the club and was offered some free stuff at the cafe, when what I really wanted were my Starwood points back. read more

Currently on the third floor and happen to be above The Park.... It's karaoke night (it's Wednesday) and I can hear every song!!!! I am so upset about the noise. Last night was Bingo night and I could tell you just how many people got a Bingo. Absolutely insane at how much noise there is. The hotel itself is beautiful and offers complimentary parking and Wi-Fi, and as someone who travels for business at least once or twice a month, that is a very nice perk! I encountered wonderful customer service, when I called down to the front desk at 11:30pm, Russ was extremely apologetic and tried to accommodate my needs. I appreciate him trying to calm me down after being a tired and grumpy guest, offered me ear plugs and a white noise machine, then told me he can switch my room in the morning if I would like. I understand there is nothing the hotel can do about the noise, considering The Park came after the hotel. I just hope that they make some type of an agreement with The Park, because it is not fair that the restaurant is upsetting hotel guests, and potentially driving away revenue from the hotel. Being an event planner, even with this horrible noise, I would still bring guests back but on the stipulation they stay far above and away from The Park! read more

We stayed here in October 2016 on points. This place was great location for us, there was Whole Foods nearby to grab some food, was able to meet up with friends in town, and also there was free parking in the structure nearby. I liked that the hotel was modern and people were friendly too. There's a pool table in the lobby! read more

Great stay at the Aloft. A very trendy, young, active vibe. This hotel has a very modern appeal. This is exactly what I thought it would be and more. I stayed at this hotel while I was working. One evening, the Internet went down. I called the front desk and they said it would be 5-10 minutes. 5-10 minutes later, the front desk called to say it up fixed and apologized. I got back to work without any additional issues. In the morning, I have an iTunes gift card under my door for the inconvenience. That is impressive customer service. I understand that things happen and that's fine, but this treatment made me a fan of Aloft. read more

Had I been initially placed in my replacement room, I'd give this property a 5/5. Had I suffered the full night in my original room, I'd give it 2/5. Why? So noisy! A combination of obnoxious on-again-off-again elevator noise along with yelling/drunk chatter from the crowded bar adjacent to the property would've made for a sleepless night. (And this was on a Tuesday -- not even a weekend.) After about 15 minutes of unsuccessfully trying to tune out the noise, I finally called the front desk and they switched me into a much quieter room. Night and day difference. Apart from that, things were all good here. Super friendly service and a clean, spacious room with the new, modern design typical of the Aloft brand. Easy parking is another perk. Definitely a suburban locale, despite the walkability to nearby upscale shops, which made for a very different Austin experience after staying downtown in previous visits. Because this was a quick business trip, this property fit the bill just fine. I'd gladly stay here again, if I can arrange for a quiet room in advance. read more

Wow! We drove in from Houston to do the zip line tour over Lake Travis and were unsure of whether we should stay the night in Austin. After hearing so many people recommend experiencing 6th street, I started browsing hotels. While I must admit, I only booked because the rate was phenomenal. Extremely lower than other hotels with great ratings so I was a little apprehensive. What's the catch? Hmm. We arrived and guess what? Complimentary valet! Awesome. Customer service? They were so nice and personable. Check in went very smooth and there weren't any hidden fees or add ons (which is rare when booking through a third party site like booking.com) We went up to our room and although it is quite small, WE LOVED IT! My boyfriend even commented "oh yeah Danielle, you did it with this one!" The shower was great! The large mirror on the rolling door? Perfect! The bed was so comfortable. The restaurant connected to the hotel is delicious too! Yum! Next time I visit Austin, I will be staying here FOR SURE! read more
