Haven't stayed at this property in a long while. Its a great representation of the aloft brand. Its clean and has a nice young and urban vibe. The bar has a better spirit selection than most. Its a good option when things closer to downtown are booked are pushing over $700 a night. read more

The hotel is located in the Domain (several city blocks of high-end stores, boutiques and eateries), making us feel safe and comfortable in Austin. The hotel has a paid parking garage. $10/night, the hotel provides a parking tag that you place in your windshield. The hotel reserves spots on the 3rd and 4th floors, which is great so you're not fighting for spots with shoppers. The hotel room is similar to other Aloft hotels across the US. Small rooms, small closet space, no dresser. If you like to pack large, this may not be the hotel for you. The bed was comfortable, but the toilet flushed loud, like the plumbing needs to be reviewed. The shower head didn't spray very hard. The pool looked pretty dirty when we visited at the end of August 2025, so we decided not to swim. Also it appeared to only be 2 feet deep all the way across. read more

Had an early flight and the front desk was able to accommodate an early check in, I was exhausted and very thankful! The noise from the street wasn't ideal, they did provide a white noise machine and ear plugs- more hotels should do this. Rate was cheaper compared to other hotels in the area, bed was comfortable and they provide Dry Bar products in the bathroom. I would stay again next time I'm in town read more

The frequent disruption of sleep by loud cars into the wee hours is a definite downside to this place. So bad they provide earplugs and a white noise machine as a means to block that noise (which failed). Spending that money to lobby local law enforcement to do their jobs and enforce noise ordinances is a better idea in my opinion. Unless you want to be serenaded by obnoxious street racers all night, avoid this place. read more

Great location as it is walking distance to all the shops at the Domain. It is difficult to get an early check in before 3 as we tried around 10am and just before 3pm to get a room even with Titanium Marriott status. Additionally, our status was never acknowledged but we were offered the points as the arrival gift. King rooms were not available even at 3pm so we opted for a 2 queen room. The room itself is fine, although it was a bit dated. There is Dry Bar amenities in the room although there was no body lotion to be found. There were two complimentary sets of ear plugs which worried me because I thought I was going to be listening to music from outside all night long. I didn't hear any music however, the AC unit is one of the older ones that sits under the window. It is so loud when it kicks on (you hear the thermostat kick on and then the unit powers up) and this happened several times throughout the night before I got up and turned off the AC. Overall, it is a convenient location but the facilities could be updated. There is also complimentary coffee and water in the lobby and additional snacks can be purchased. read more

There are plenty of bars in The Domain, so why go to a hotel for drinks? In this case, because it's the WXYZ Lounge the The Aloft Hotel where you will find superior cocktails from a master bartender. You will meet Mike, who has been behind the counter for 8 years (and has created many of the drinks on the menu!).  He will identify what you are looking for, can educate you about your drink, the spirits, and his process. On top of that, he has a great personality! This lounge is quite small (it *is* in a hotel lobby) but there are comfortable chairs, couches, and tables for you. And most appreciated, it is fairly quiet. You can have actual conversation.  It's a wonderful way to close out your evening.  Superior cocktails in a comfortable setting. And, don't forget, prepare to tip Mike well! He will deserve it! read more

This was our first ever visit to Austin, coming for a family event, we stayed at this Aloft, as it was near the event we were going to attend. Wasn't aware what "The Domain" was and that it was in a huge shopping area, with a very active nightlife. This caused a pain for us to get in/out of the hotel via car, as there's tons of very slow and unreasonable traffic within this shopping center. Additionally, the noise at night, way past midnight is horrendous and it's definitely loud inside the hotel rooms! The sound of cars, loud stereos in the cars driving by, horns, and people was quite loud in our room on the 6th floor, which was distracting when trying to sleep. Regarding check-in, that went well, the young man who checked us in (I think his name is Shahin?) was very helpful and friendly. The staff for our visit was also very friendly. The location, though a pain in the a** due to the shopping center which this hotel is in the middle of. It was nice that this hotel was within walkable distance to lots of restaurants, bars, and shopping, but the noise and traffic negated this convenience. The bed was very comfy. The sliding door between the water closer and sink/room was very hard to slide, to which we advised the front desk after our first night and they said they'd fix it, but that never got done. Parking was terrible on the weekends, due to the clubs, bars and crowds hanging out in the shopping area, well past midnight! And the smell of marijuana was ridiculous in the garage and walking area back to the hotel. We most definitely WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN! read more

Stayed over the weekend. We were able to check in about 2 hrs early which was nice. The room was clean and free bottled water. I did notice that this Aloft didn't have a restaurant like their other locations, but it did have the wxyz bar. Mike makes great cocktails! Location is great during the weekday but when it comes to the weekend, you would be wishing you booked a different place. Why is that? The weekend nightlife. Not so much the nightlife. It's how those people arrive and leave The Domain Shopping Center. It's the vehicles. Yes, those wannabe v8 with the cheap exhaust system, the Dodge Challengers/Chargers, Ford Mustang and those import compact with their exhaust system revving through the area. Nonstop til 3AM. Aloft is between the 2 parking garages. It was nice that Aloft provided earplugs but I don't like to keep something stuck in my ears all night. Other than that, everything is within walking distance. We were just forced to leave this hotel due to there credit card system being down THAT WE ALREADY PAID FOR. We pre-paid a one night stay and just needed to check in. Due to the credit card system being down they couldn't authorize a $50.00 deposit to check in manually or through a credit card form. SEAN AND JUNE AT THE FRONT DESK SHOULD BE FIRED. Sean and June blamed me and my fiancé's credit cards for the decline. We also tried my unlimited corporate card and it was declined. We used 3 cards and no notification was sent alerting of the decline indicating fault on their end. We were told by the two hotel workers to, "add money to your accounts, we've done 64 transactions today and it's been working, you should call your bank and add funds." THAT IS NOT HOW A CREDIT CARD WORKS. The terrible customer service at the Aloft by Sean and June was demeaning and borderline racist as they smiled and helped others staying. We offered to leave our wallets, $200 in cash, and called chase bank to get a voice authorization. If we hadn't been able to get a last minute reservation at the Westin down the street we would have been sleeping in our car. BLAMING CUSTOMERS ON YOUR LACK OF TECHNOLOGY IS NOT AN APPROPRIATE WAY TO HANDLE. Thank you hotels.con for refunding my non-refundable room. NEVER STAYING AT THE ALOFT AGAIN. I walked into the Aloft Austin at the Domain to see how they decorated for the holidays. The lobby is very modern and a nice place to hangout. They have a pantry store, seating and even a pool table. The lobby was very roomy where I could see the pool through the large windows. There is no restaurant here but since located at the Domain there are plenty of excellent ones to choose from. We sat down a bit to rest and then got up to take a photo of the holiday tree. There is a new Aloft being constructed near my home and nice to see what to experience. read more

I was sitting in the lobby for an hour my phone fell out of my pocket. Five minutes later I came back to get my phone and it was missing and turned off. Seemed very organized and efficient. There were cameras everywhere. Management would not allow tape review or assistance of any kind. we were told to file a police report. while I was sitting in the lobby several other people were missing devices as well. This a very nice hotel but I definitely wouldn't stay here again. This is a very noisy area. 5 different car alarms kept going off till 1 am and loud drunk people by the pool. The good: -They give you free water...Dasani bottle in the room and there's always a bunch at the front counter -My room was clean -The shampoo and soap are in liquid form on the wall in the shower...so you won't run out. -The air conditioning works (I like meat-locker temperatures and this room did not disappoint) -The person that did my check in was friendly and helpful -They give you a voucher for breakfast items up to $10/day -There was a small refrigerator in my room -gym and pool looked OK (neither are very big) -room coffee isn't terrible The meh: -Some of the other people there aren't so friendly and helpful -I had 2 queen beds; not a lot of extra space to move around in the room -lobby area is a bit disjointed -the food options in the cafe are limited -parts of the room were in need of repair (specifically around the shower area) -the air-conditioning - while worked - was extremely noisy Still...I'd stay here again since it's super convenient to where my meetings were. read more

This hotel is terrible. I have stayed here before, about 5 years ago, and what a downgrade since then. They masquerade under the pretense of a "minimalist, modern" hotel, but really it is just a cheap place to stay. Specifically - a) the room was in terrible shape - water stains and plaster failing on the ceiling b) flies in the room the entire time (house flies and fruit flies) c) They only attend to your room every 2 or 3 days (without advising you of this), and when housekeeping comes, they do not replace things fully. In other words, you do not get new glasses, soap etc. Its like you used up your one supply, and you aint getting any more (even staying for almost a week) d) THE POOL IS DISGUSTING. It had not been cleaned for at least a week (being a pool owner, I can assess accurately). The amount of crud on the bottom was gross. The amount of stuff floating in and on top of the water was really gross. No towels (why would they put them out there... no one is obviously swimming). really disappointing. e) the fake coffee creamer in the room curdled. How does that happen? f) the toilet did not flush all the way - leaving sediment and toilet paper in it the whole time g) elevator buttons were broken off, rug was ragged. h) the shower smelled like mold when you turned on the water... taking quite a bit of time to clear out the smell before you could shower. I can go on, but is this enough? The one good thing was the bartender. He was great. Just not busy (no wonder) read more

Nicest youth hostile I've ever stayed in. Mattresses need to be replaced. Two distinct divots in my bed from other people's bodies. The nail scratches on the foam headboard were a nice reminder that a lot of people got it on in this bed and I really wished I had invested in that blue light bed sanitizer from Brookstone. I could overlook the dorm room style if there was a good mattress and a decent night's sleep- but it was terrible. Sure- they have a nice cafe in the lobby. Seriously awesome selection and the staff is really great. The cafe and the people are what garnished the two stars. But I need to sleep. Just woke from a miserable night and though I slept little, I was eager to get out of that bed. read more

So, the rooms and the hotel are pretty nice. The real stars of the show are the location and the staff. Super close to everything and convenient. And the staff. I was helped by literally everyone (natalia, ramien the names i could remember) were very helpful. Very disappointed in this Marriott property. I cannot believe they haven't pulled the Marriott name. The "high speed" internet is 3M down. That is deplorable in a tech market such as Austin. I became worried when I found 2 sets of ear plugs on the desk. By 10pm I found out way. The property build in 2009 is in need of a refresh. The LaQuinta up the road has more modern amenities. When is the last time you saw rust bleeding from a shower handle? I expect that in a Red Roof Inn. Not a Marriott property. The fridge is louder than the AC unit. While clean the carpet is heavily worn in rooms and hallways. The entire property needs a refresh or change the name to a Baymont. I will not be back. read more

Don't bother considering this place. Aloft hotels as a whole are like putting lipstick on a pig. They look halfway decent and have a modern feel, but it's a cheap hotel, they don't have very nice amenities, and they don't even have a decent breakfast option to pay for. The staff is reasonably friendly, but when we had a noise complaint about our next door neighbors, they didn't do anything. I had to call down to the front desk 4 times to get them to send someone up to their room to tell them to be quiet. When I left, I wasn't asked how my stay was, or if our problem had been resolved and it was very clear that I was the person who called several times, so instead of asking me for feedback, they just avoided the topic all together. They just don't care about their guests experience. At the time that I booked, it was $385/night. The Westin down the street was $499 and is a way nicer hotel with much better service and amenities. Just pay the extra money to stay at the nicer place, you probably won't end up being woken up at 6:30 in the morning by drunk people. read more

We decided to do a girls trip in Austin... the domain is a great place to stay... the Best of both worlds ... shopping & restaurant! The Aloft should be a great contemporary and fun hotel to stay at for a weekend trip. Keep in mind there's no valet service at this hotel & there's a free parking structure in front and behind of the hotel. As we are checking in the front desk guy was very helpful and made it easy for our checking in process really simple and fast. We dropped our bags off and headed out to shop since we had plenty of time before dinner. Once when we got back to the hotel for our bedtime both rooms with double beds the sheets was disgusting. There's many stains and other things that I do not want to mention on this review. I called front desk and no one had answered and since we got back so late we decided to lay on top the the comforter. The next day I decided to call the manager on duty and she did get housekeeping to come and change our sheets but didn't seem to care so much about it. I decided to email corporate and it seems like no one even cares. They offered 500 points added to my spg membership... it's not like I wanted the points, I just wanted the company to understand how disgusting this is for any guest experience and needed them to understand the importance of cleanliness in a hotel chain that is well known. I have never experienced anything like this in any of their chain hotel but this wasn't a pleasant one. read more

Stayed at this hotel and our first time staying at the aloft brand and let me say this held up to the high expectations I have of Marriott properties! In fact one of the best stays I have had in a long time! Kudos to Lucas at the front desk! This gentleman was warm, welcoming, and made me feel welcome as an elite member. Took the time to explain to me all the details of the hotel, parking and any other questions I had. My wife asked for a water and he was very complimentary in getting us one because she needed to take some meds. Lucas is the epitome of what someone working at a Marriott property should be. In fact, I felt as I was staying at a JW Marriott or a Ritz Carlton when speaking to Lucas and his great customer service. As for the hotel perfectly situated in the heart of the domain and easy access to all the shopping and nearby bars and restaurants the Domain has to offer. The room was comfortable and very clean. Overall this was a great stay and would recommend this a hotel if staying in this area. read more

I want to love this property. I really really do. With only five check-ins I am the Duke which should tell you something about repeat visits. LOL First of all I have 215 nights in a Marriott this year so I know a thing or two about travel and hotels. With the new merger I am trying to branch out and try SPG properties because I have heard good things about Starwood. Having stayed here before I decided to give it another go because my prior visits were somewhat quick. As a Preferred Guest I reserved a king bedroom and didn't give another thought to it. Check-in was great like always and the people are super friendly. I absolutely love their grab-and-go bar, it's a huge improvement over anything basic Marriott properties like fairfield's or Courtyards offer. I love the Contemporary look of the hotel and it just feels cleaner and newer. Unfortunately that's where this story ends. I was told that they are oversold which rarely affects preferred members but apparently tonight is an exception. Without hesitation I agreed to take whatever they had available for me and they explained it would be the top floor away from the elevators. Like far away. Like put on your hiking boots there is no one in your hallway you are the last room on the hallway kinda room. I get into the room which has two queen beds and I'm totally fine with it except for that's when I start to see it. Paint issues everywhere. Ceiling looking like it's about to cave in. The bench underneath the TV is obviously terribly broken. The beds look like someone literally slept in them last night and they were made by a four-year-old. There is a giant stand on one of the sheets. There are footprints in the bathroom tile. And the refrigerator sounds like it is housing Radioactive isotopes. This room is very obviously unfinished and has severe issues. Why would an organization put a preferred member in a room like this? This room should not be used until the paint and other issues are fixed. I'm not one to complain but this was an absolutely terrible choice. Unfortunately SPG is not winning me over. There are tons of options in the domain area and I sadly will not be returning to this property. I want to love it so bad, I really do. I want to start my review by stating I've never stayed at any other Aloft Hotel prior to my visit to this location. The front desk girls when I arrived were very pleasant. We were traveling with a group of 13 for a work conference. Check in went smooth. The girls seemed very attentive and they appeared to be in training. They asked me for a credit card to hold on file and I mentioned our stay was covered by our organization through a direct bill. They assured me that the cc was for incidentals, so I provided them my cc and that was that. The next day I noticed a hold on my credit card for the whole amount of stay. I figured it was an accident and decided to talk to the front desk on my return back to the hotel. The initial reaction from the girl who assisted me was the funds would be released once my stay was over. This wasn't the reaction I was hoping for and stated I needed to use my credit card for my meals and remainder of my stay so I needed them to fix the error and use the direct bill account for the hotel charges. One hour later I was still getting a round about answer that it was fixed and my card would be refunded, however the hotel manager wasn't able to provide proof of the refund. After a lot of push back and aggravation I finally got a print out of what seemed to be the direct bill charge for the incidentals, nothing proving to me that the hotel charges were returned. So, another 30 minute phone call had to be made to my bank in order to get the funds released for my use. LONG STORY SHORT, instead of making this a seamless experience and fixing the problem I felt like I had to jump through hoops with a not so friendly hotel manager to get my money back due to an error made by his staff. The accommodations were basic, the bar area was nice, the hotel rooms are trendy yet needing some improvements on cleaning. My phone didn't work and the carpet was tiled, so pieces had been removed and not put back. Needless to say, even though this hotel is in a great location for work conferences, I will never stay here again. read more

The Aloft is located at the back side of Rock Rose st. It's a perfect location for shopping and for the restaurants. The lobby was charming. It had a modern,boutique hotel feel to it. There's also a bar but we didn't partake in the bar scene. When we got home late one night there was a group performing music. There's complimentary coffee and water, and some breakfast options are available to purchase. The elevator service was a little slow but the hotel might've been pretty full. The hallways in the hotel were nice and clean. Our room was very comfortable. We got the king size bed. They offer two types of pillows. One was pretty hard while the other pillow was soft to medium. The ac temperature was very comfortable. We like it chilly when we sleep and the setting was perfect. Great water pressure and plenty of towels. The hotel allows pets for those pet owners. read more

I feel a little bit better about writing my review after reading others' similar experiences. The only good thing about this hotel is that it's the cheapest in its location. Everything else is the worst. The pool was under construction during our time being there and I wasn't told until the few days before we were to arrive. I also had no idea this place was pet friendly. I have pretty bad pet allergies (not so bad that I'll, you know, die) so I wish I would've known so I could've stocked up on Allegra or something - the late night allergy attacks were not fun. There is no "view" in any hotel room so why even have huge windows that can't even be covered by their shades? I stayed in a 2Q room with my close friend and it was way too tight for the both of us. The only - and I mean only - good thing about the place was that the bathroom mirror was basically a huge vanity so she and I could put our makeup on together instead of taking turns. The shower and toilet on the other hand were way too close for comfort. You would step out of the shower and almost into the toilet. Poor design. Get rid of the safes literally no one uses and extend the space for the toilet/shower. Upon check in, I was charged $80 more than what my records indicated. I know hotels hold money in case of damage - but $80? That's a little overkill. We didn't bring a pet and we didn't damage anything so I was out a good chunk of money the entire trip. I even asked the receptionist for a receipt or proof of charges and wasn't allowed to get one until I checked out. Ridiculous. I'm in my early 20's and came to the Domain to party and shop. Location is all you get out of this hotel and even then you still overpay for where you're staying. If I ever go to the Domain again I'll be staying elsewhere. I am on my last night staying at the Aloft and I couldn't be more excited to leave and go home in the morning. Upon check in I was told they would hold $50 for incidentals which is totally understandable, but when I looked at my account they actually took $100! When I went back to the front desk to ask why I was told it would only be $50 yet they took $100 I couldn't get a straight answer as to why it happened only that if everything was undamaged that the hold would fall off. Although the lobby and bar area of the hotel is nice the rooms are similar to a motel room nothing to get excited about at all. The decor is modern yet very cheap looking, it kinda feels like a modern jail cell! Also they have an option where you can chose to go green by declining the housekeeping services and get a $5 voucher. Well that wasn't for me so it clearly read "Not for you? Place this card on your bed for fresh linens." So that's exactly what I did for each day and each day I came back to the same unchanged sheets! As I'm sure you can assume by now I will never stay at this hotel ever again and I wouldn't even recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. read more

Short review: Modern, few-frills, good location, but enough hangups that anyone other than fans of the Aloft brand should stay elsewhere. Long review: Good location for anyone visiting the Domain (though be forewarned if you haven't been to the Domain or haven't been lately, vehicle and pedestrian traffic have both significantly increased, making it difficult to navigate the narrow streets). There is lots of parking in the garage directly behind the building. Typical Aloft look and feel. They aim for a modern, casual vibe, modeling the lobby after the upscale W hotels. However in this hotel the florescent lighting in the room was much harder to bear than in other Alofts I've stayed in. I opened the shades until dusk to get all the natural light possible. What was perhaps most frustrating was the front desk staff. I politely asked if there were any upgraded rooms available for BonVoy members (it's Aloft, there aren't) in hopes of getting a high-floor room with a view. Instead I ended up on the second floor in the one room that was tucked behind a corner, farthest from the elevator. In other words, they gave me the lowest floor and the only room with absolutely no view. For a Marriott member with a six-figure point balance, that's not acceptable. I didn't give anyone a hard time about it, but considering the hotel wasn't crowded, this doomed the stay from the start. The room itself was typical Aloft (aside from the poor lighting), with an average bed and outlets that are somewhat awkwardly located underneath the bedside tables. Aloft bathroom designs are quite confined, and per usual water from the shower leaks all over the place. The grab-and-go pantry in the lobby is nice to have, and Aloft provided a $10 voucher for breakfast, but you have to use all the value at once, so I ended up awkwardly carrying two armfuls of food back to my room to make the most if it. So again, if you need a reasonable priced place to sleep, this Aloft is mostly ok, but for me this experience had enough hangups that I probably would avoid it in the future. read more

A bit of a disclosure, my New Years Eve stay at the Aloft Domain cost me a meager $32. Setting the scene its basically the Ikea of hotels. Trendy small space that encompasses the lobby, food area, and bar complete with pool table. Nice yet small rooms, biggest flat panel HDTV in a hotel room to date. I played up the cozy intimate feel including the fireplace to the wife before we arrived. Instead, fireplace deactivated with a DJ occupying the space in front. Roughly 100 people hanging and clogging the bar. We waited for 30 minutes wading towards the bar; finally gave up and took the cheaper route relying on the HEB at Parmer and Loop 1 for adult beverages. My gripe is that 80 percent of the occupants weren't guests of the hotel. Someone had rented the space and invited all of their friends to party till the countdown began. The two bartenders were overwhelmed, near all liquor bottles were empty, and I couldn't buy a damn drink in a place I paid to stay at. Oh yeah, The Park sports bar joint wanted $20 for us to get in. Ummm, I've read your reviews...No. The in room safe failed to operate correctly. I had to pick multiple plastic pieces out of our bed before we could lay down. Add in the lack of any concern when I brought up my grievances to the staffer when we checked out this morning. I know I got this place on the cheap thanks to my card rewards; I left thinking I actually overpaid for this experience. Imagine how peeved I'd be if I paid full price! read more

After a second stay at the Aloft this weekend, thought I'd alert potential vacationers-- there's a lot of construction going on behind the hotel, so you may have a rude awakening at 6 am. I stayed Thursday - Saturday and heard the noise all three mornings. Also, the walls are a bit thin. And given their target demographic-- young professionals who like to play as hard as they work -- you're bound to get some late-night revelers. So if you constantly complain about loud music and find yourself using phrases such as, "Those darn kids," and "Back in my day..." then this probably isn't the place for you. read more

Staying in downtown Austin can be quite challenging... especially if you're on a budget and coming to town during a convention or festival. This was the case when I visited last week... so after reading the reviews for Aloft Austin at The Domain, I was pleased to find out that they had availability and moderate prices. I made a reservation for myself and a few other colleagues, and I'm glad I did, because they ended up being sold out as well! If you know going in that you're a 15-20 minute drive from downtown, you'll be fine. The Domain has pretty much everything you may need or want during your visit. From retail stores and boutiques to restaurants and even an Apple Store and a Starbucks, you're set! And Aloft offers friendly staff, a decent workout room, comfortable and clean accommodations, free wifi, free parking, etc... Bonus: Kona Grill delivers to the Aloft lobby - I actually took advantage of that one day for lunch and it was great! Bottom line: If you're headed to Austin and don't mind staying outside of the downtown area, I definitely recommend Aloft at The Domain. read more

Great location and best rate in The Domain. Room-acceptable. Bed-fine pl Pillows-meh Ameninities-few Modernized unaccomodating awkward design. Works as a place to sleep, but not to hang out & relax. But at least The Domain offers so many great places for that. read more

Those who know..just know....and if you have a pet you need to know! Austin,TX is just one of the best cities period. One of my fave things about Austin is the pet friendly mentality most businesses demonstrate. Aloft does it right with their pet policy. No deposit required, just sign the waiver in the event of any damage. Our Show girl knows how to behave, so no dollars spent! I love the concept of the Aloft, it makes us old married with children folk feel footloose and fancy free even if we are in the company of two minors. The lobby/sitting area/bar/pool table/fire pit scene meets every need. The decor is vibrant and soothing all at the same time. Friendly service by all we came in contact with. My only issue is the bedding/towels/rooms could use a little updating. Towels were rough, bedding a lil worn, and rooms need a deep cleaning(grout, carpet, paint touch up). Even with that, we will return again and again. p.s. love the shopping in the Domain! read more
