Considering we were spending around $1,000 per night for an entire week, we felt confident booking with a company whose website emphasizes "exceptional service." Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We were traveling from Arizona to escape the summer heat with two small children and a 6-month-old baby. We knew when booking this beachfront property that it did not have air conditioning, which normally isn't a concern for coastal San Diego. Unfortunately, our stay happened to fall during unusually warm temperatures and record-breaking humidity. The house was extremely muggy and never cooled below 80 degrees, making it incredibly uncomfortable, especially with a baby and young children. Given the unusual weather and heat advisory, we reached out to Haustay and asked if they could provide a portable AC unit. We were told no because the property was advertised as not having AC. We then asked for additional fans. After multiple texts and follow-ups, fans were eventually delivered, but they provided very little relief unless you were standing directly in front of them. At that point, we asked whether we could receive a refund for the remaining nights so we could move to a hotel with air conditioning, or whether they could accommodate us at another property. Again, the answer was no. Their reasoning was essentially that the home was advertised without AC and they had provided us with fans. We completely understand that Haustay cannot control the weather, and we knew the property didn't have AC when we booked it. What was disappointing was the lack of flexibility or meaningful effort to help when circumstances became unusually uncomfortable. When you're paying around $7,000 for a week and a company markets itself around exceptional service, you expect more than being reminded that the listing said there was no AC. Haustay also told us that the owners would not allow them to provide a portable AC unit. If that's the case, my recommendation to Haustay would be to have portable units available for situations like this, particularly during extreme weather, so they have the ability to actually provide the exceptional service they advertise. Unfortunately, the heat wasn't our only issue. During our stay: * A fire alarm went off at 4 a.m. because of a bad battery * Landscapers showed up at the property without any advance notice to us * The Wi-Fi went out * The washing machine or the wall behind it appeared to be leaking water onto the laundry room floor * Bug found in the master tub upon arrival Any one of these issues on its own would have been manageable. Combined with an unbearably hot and humid house and the lack of meaningful assistance from management, it made for an extremely disappointing stay. This is the one big family vacation we take each year, and we specifically spent more money hoping to have a great experience. Instead, we spent much of the week uncomfortable and trying to get help. For the amount we paid and the level of service Haustay advertises, we expected much better.

Now 3 months after we stayed at the house she wont send us our $150.00 deposit back. She wont pick our phone calls and sends us to voicemail. Very unprofessional and she is not worth doing business with. Im now in the process of taking her to small claims court to get my money back. It is going to cost her more in small claims court then it would to just follow through with her contract we signed but again I should have researched her business. She has a F+ rating with the BBB. 4 total complaints while all being unresolved. Again, very unprofessional. I suggest we put these people out of business by not doing business with them.

We fell in love with the unique location of staying right on the sand (there's no street or noise between us and the ocean,) and have returned because of the outstanding service from On The Sand. The amenities are outstanding. Aside from the ocean that is right outside the door, there is a pool, jacuzzi, gym, library, billiards, ping-pong and a putting green. Multiple laundry rooms make packing light feasible. It is within walking distance to food near the pier or the harbor and the spacious kitchen even makes cooking a breeze. Our favorite unit is D 26. It was renovated recently and its shower is larger than most others in the complex. Its open kitchen has plenty of dishes, silverware and cups and a full-size dishwasher so doing dishes will not be required after every meal! It has ample pantry space for our family's food and snacks for a week and I appreciate the well stocked kitchen with blenders, serving bowls, pots and pans. It sits right on the ocean so in the morning, I sit on the balcony with my tea and watch my older kids catch waves, then head down to the beach as it gets warmer. The convenience of being so close and being able to have lunch in the condo is priceless. It is a great location to spend a week at the beach.

We were promised 90 days In our contract and verbal. When it came time for us to get our timeshare, we received nothing in the mail, some time went by and nothing. No phone call from SD TLC nothing! We called many times and were told too many times that we would have our timeshare on this date around this time and we never did and never received a phone call, we had to call and inquire. It is now almost June and we still have not received it and they are not helping us, we paid $4,000 that they just took from us. We have called RCI and the place where we purchased our timeshare in full BtW and no one has heard or has on record that we bought. Bad company, go get the free trip, waste their time and leave.
