He complained about his job the whole time and apparently didn't know about using tape to keep from gouging chips out of a countertop. That was Friday, when we called Monday about the damage, he had been fired. Sadly they sent him to our home before doing so. Then they were out 3 or 4 times to tell us they didn't have time for the job we called them for or they couldn't do what we asked (all asks are now done so...). Each time we were charged a service call. The last straw was when we hired Goyette to install a new toilet. They did a good job and one of the workmen told us if we wanted it taller later, just to call and they could come out and build it up. We decided later to do this. The gentleman came out, was surprised when someone had told us they could "build it up". He had looked to find out who the idiot was because that could not be done for our toilet. He came for the service call (rather than calling us to clarify). His stop in to tell us this cost us the large service fee, but he said once we bought the riser he wouldn't charge us the service all, only $50 labor. We thanked him and took Goyette off speed dial. The cost of doing business with them is too high. Nearly $1000 in fees to be told no or cause more damage than the job. Honestly, if Goyette is the only response during an emergency, perhaps having a pool in the basement isn't all bad.

Now, let me tell you about Lyons heating and air in Flint, Michigan. I hired a handyman to put in a few ceiling fans and to change out a thermostat. The handyman did nothing right. Rob was the serviceman. He rewired my thermostat so it worked and he checked my total HVAC system. In addition he was concerned about my electrical problems. Turned out I had 27 volts to my security light instead of 120volts. Rob told me that one or more ceiling fans was miswired. He also told me that my security lights may have bad sensors The kicker is I only paid for the changing of the thermostat...very reasonable charge. Not only that, but I have a boiler and radiator heating system system and I wasn't willing to replace it in lieu of a furnace for central air and heat. I did get one bid and that was for mini splits only and then only in 2 bedrooms upstairs and one unit in the dining room. The price was astronomical and I thought I would be resigned to using portable air-conditioning units during the hot months. That was, until I found Jeff. We scheduled an appointment for a free estimate, and he determined that he could install central air conditioning in all four bedrooms and the bathroom upstairs by placing the air-conditioning unit in my attic. The other company I had give me an estimate never even thought of that concept. The possibility of having central air downstairs wasn't an option because of a number of different obstacles. I have two mini splits downstairs, situated in rooms that will allow for maximum cooling of every room on the lower level. Tyler, Ethan, Hunter, and Jeff, himself, were meticulous and took pride in their workmanship. They went to great lengths to ensure that my flooring was covered and everything was cleaned up at the end of the day.
