I've been here a few times & each time I walk out dissatisfied. I only get gel manicures and the polish is never the right color. This most recent time I went in preparation of my wedding- the lady showed me the color after the first coat and it looked okay, then added 2 if not 3 more coats. I returned the next day after noticing my nails looked pink/purple in sunlight & the owner agreed they would redo them "just this one time". I showed her my nails compared to the color book and they both responded with "oh ", but stated the books were just faded and they used the right color. Let's start with the positives: The wait was short. About as short as the list of positives. Negatives? The entire time my mom and I were getting our pedicures the workers were talking about woman who would walk in. Not quietly either, very loud and commenting on the women's looks- including hand gestures. We paid for the deluxe pedicures and our wax was removed before it had even had time to set. My mom's started 10 minutes after mine and hers was over before they were finished with mine.. we had gel polish and less than 12 hours after I left the salon I had toes on each foot that the polish was gone. I've never had gel not last well over a month on my toes. I think burning my $65 plus tip would have lasted longer than the polish did. 10/10 would not recommend... read more

I'd really like to give 2.5 stars but I didn't have the option. I would've given this nail salon ZERO stars due to how rude the staff was & not just one of them either. The 4 ppl I spoke with were all very rude (one more so than the others) BUT my gel manicure was pretty good-very good for stjoe which is why I upped it to 2 stars. I'm not easily offended (nor am I an emotional person) but I felt very uncomfortable the whole time I was there. I'm undecided on if I'll go back or not. My gel manicure/pedicure was just as good if not better at pronails on the south belt. UPDATE!!! I did return to Allure because I was in a pinch. The rude employees had been fired & now I routinely go there. The owner is wonderful but best of all the 3 ppl who've done my gel manicures & pedicures have done an excellent job!! There's also a discount for cash payments. I've never been to a place where I've had such a dramatic turn around but I wouldn't hv recommended Allure before but now I HIGHLY recommend. read more

I have gone here for right around 6 years. I was highly dissatisfied with my prom nails from a different shop in town and they told me they "couldn't fix it" and Allure fixed them for free even though it wasn't their work. Honestly now all my friends and coworkers come here too. I don't have to book an appointment with any particular person, they all do an extraordinary job. Everyone is so kind, positive, and friendly. When I bring my friends or family with me they remember names and faces with no problem. It's VERY clean and organized. They also accommodate to large parties very well, my sisters bridal party came and they were and wonderful to us and we got out right on time. The place is comfy and they give a discount for using cash! All around a highly recommended place from me. read more

While visiting my hometown, my mom and I decided to get a gel mani and pedi. I'm so glad we came here! There was a nice selection of polish to choose from and I found exactly what I wanted. The facility was incredibly clean and felt very comfortable. The manicure and pedicure were easy and painless - I especially liked the hot stone massage during the pedicure! The employees who helped my mom and me (and the rest of the staff) were polite and friendly. It can get pretty busy, so be sure you make an appointment. If you have any questions about price or anything just ASK. Some of the negative reviews here could be avoided if customers just asked for clarification or voiced any concerns they might have. Overall this was a great experience and I'm so glad my mom and I got to go together. If I need a manicure or pedicure again while I'm in St. Joe I'll definitely come here! read more

Shockingly disappointing. My pedicure appointment was at 2:15. I was seated at 2:40, and at 3:30, my feet were still soaking. The staff didn't seem to want to be bothered with a pedicure, but couldn't seem to spend enough time with the gel manicure and fake nail customers, whether they had appointments or not. I'm pretty hard to insult, but obviously Allure doesn't need or want my business. I finally got out of there at almost 4:00. Needless to say, I won't be going back. read more

Horrible horrible horrible customer service! I would not recommend, wait anywhere else in saint joseph to get your nails done. Pulled back for a mani pedi, once they start the service, they clearly realize they are unable to the mani and pedi as they forgot they had another appointment and shouldn't have pulled me back for the service. After he roughly files half my nails he says I'll need to come back at a later date to do the pedI, who goes to do this at two different times. attempted to make a complaint as this is horrible service and was told well he is telling you to just come back for your toes? What? That literally makes no sense, I came in for a combo and you made a scheduling error. Would recommend literally anywhere else but here. Me and a friend from work went to get our nails done after a work meeting. She just wanted to get the 2 that broke off fixed. i went in for a fullset. We waited 45 - 60 mins. Which was not the problem. The young man made 2 of my fingers bleed after i clearly told him to take it easier. Then told me i couldnt get the style i wanted because i didnt choose gel. He then insistex i pay before washing my hands. HE CHARGED ME FOR A GEL SET WHEN HE HAD JUAT TOLD ME I COULDNT GET THE STYLE BECAUSE THEY WERENT GEL. 5 of my nails broke off within 6 days it was a complete waste if timd and money read more

Called ahead, told no wait. Got there and it was packed with a 15 minute wait. Unfriendly staff, and ridiculous pricing. Went in for a mani/pedi for my daughters bday. A basic mani/pedi is $45. They didn't have child chairs, and wanted to charge $45 for a mani/pedi for an 8 year old, and another $5 for a basic flower. Ridiculous. Also, they started cleaning to shut down and were very loud and unprofessional. Next time, we will opt for an alternative location, with reasonable prices. read more

I am always pleased with my nails, the service provided and the fact that the owners always go above and beyond to make sure I got my money's worth. I've had lousy service almost this bad one other time. I sat next to a young woman who watched what was going on and was grinning and supportive or I might have walked outside and started screaming. I asked for a French manicure with red glitter instead of white, for Halloween. The guy working on me pulled tools from a jar on the desk. I prefer autoclaved tools because you know those will be more likely to have all fungus and bacteria killed should the previous customers have an infection. He was able to speak few words of English. I've never had a problem with this as we travel a lot and I enjoy people and don't expect them to cater to me by being mandated to speak English. However, not understanding anything was a major problem in this case. And the 2 staff who did speak excellent English were playing cards and we had to call to them to help. I've had innumerable French manicures over the years, and they didn't do this one the same way. By the time we got through the issue of a base coat, dealing with the polish not working, then we got to the clear coat issue. I wanted _clear_. The guy used pink tinted. I asked him to stop, and that had to be translated. He then used a lavender tint. I asked him to stop and use clear, using a bottle of water as an example. A third person finally got up and got a bottle of clear Seche Vite top coat. When it was done and I was looking at them while they were drying almost 2 hours later, I noticed there was a tiny red line of smudge polish that he didn't get cleaned up before putting the clear coat on. I had no more time to wait to have it fixed yet again, so I showed the guy who took my card and was ringing it up. He asked when I had tome to come back. I said I have no more time, because I work tomorrow and I don't have more time to go through this again. He didn't offer to take off any off the price. I didn't ask him to, but this was a terrible experience and I would have done so to at least attempt some sort of "fix" that would soften the customer's mood after a long difficult two hours. The actual manicure left me with little leftover bits of skin that weren't cleaned up well. None of the usual lotion or massage like I've had every time at other places and which the woman next to me got. Absolutely SKIP THIS PLACE unless you want to be their practice dummy. I only had one truly awful experience in town and a couple of mediocre experiences. I only went here because a friend of mine got a cute nail job there for Halloween. The girl next to me had a good experience. My guy was lousy. Crud! read more

My mother and I went there yesterday and we had a great experience. Mom suffers from arthritis and when that was explained, they were gentle with her, yet gave her a great foot massage and pedicure. I asked for a special design and he explained that there would be an additional charge and based on what I requested, that was totally reasonable. Had 2 appointments schedule for pedicures, called to let the salon know we'd be just a few minutes let. They said that was fine. Got there at 11:05 checked in got our colors picked out and waited 10-15 minutes to be called back to get our toes done. A lady immediately started on my friends toes and I sat and waited, it took 45-50 minutes for her toes to get done while I just sat there waiting with my water getting cold. Once her toes where done mine where started this was about 12ish, an hour after our appointment time. It took another 45 minutes for my toes to get done and then I had to wait for them to dry, so we didn't leave until 1pm. 2 hours later. They never said anything to us about not being able to get our toes done at the same time. I got so uncomfortable in the chair too after sitting for an 1 and 45 minutes. I normally don't write reviews but it was just frustrating no one communicated that it would take so long even with our schedule appointments. We made appointments to avoid having an issue like this.
