Before coming…read morein, I called ahead and was told to arrive in 15 minutes, but once I got there, I ended up being there for nearly an hour and a half just to have gel taken off. They initially sanded down the gel and wrapped my nails in acetone with foil, which is standard. But after I sat there for about 45 minutes, the gel still wasn't coming off easily. Instead of handling it properly, the technician became visibly frustrated and started using a cuticle cutter to peel layers of my actual nail off. I said "ouch" multiple times, it was painful and clearly not being done carefully. When I left, my nails were damaged and actually bleeding. This was not just poor technique, it just felt careless. On top of that, the overall experience was cold and unwelcoming. No one greeted me when I walked in, and there was little to no communication the entire time. I've since had to buy a medical-grade nail treatment just to try to repair the damage. I do not recommend this place. What should have been a simple service turned into a painful and unnecessary experience.

I use to go to Ulta where I enjoyed a great stylist. When she went on maternity leave, I was…read moreassured the woman they selected to take her appointments was just as good & qualified. She was not. I was so disappointed w/that experience that I put off making another appt. Life happened & an event creeped up on me. I had less than 6 days to get a decent cut. Desperate to get a cut, I walked into Twisted's salon cold. Boy am I glad I did. The receptionist was kind & worked diligently to squeeze me in w/Mykal for a cut on Friday & a color the following Tues. Yey, hair cut for the event! Friday when I arrived for my cut, I was made to feel like a VIP! A very nice young lady gave me a tour of this clean & neat salon. Both clients & employees were extremely friendly. Twisted's staff makes everyone feel so welcome & they are definitely a team. It's not a stuffy or uppity salon but it sure delivers on quality. Let's start with the hair washing. This is the first salon I've been in since moving to the Valley 11yrs ago that thought to provide a footstool when you're getting your hair washed! It makes such a difference for shorter folks like myself. What happened next was most unexpected. The young lady who gave me the tour washed my hair & gave me the most incredible scalp massage. She also offered a complimentary hand massage & paraffin hand dip too. Seriously! No upcharge. Just a great perk & a way to help you relax a bit & feel a bit pampered. And boy did I! Before my hair washing, my stylist, Mykal, asked "What are you having done to that gorgeous hair" I said "Cutting about 6" off" One client said something akin to "but your hair is so thick & gorgeous" and others agreed. But all Mykal said was "Really?" I nodded Yes & said "it's too much for me" He said "Ok! Let's do it!" No hesitation whatsoever. HE TOTALLY GOT IT! I loved that. Once in the chair, Mykal asked all the right questions. He assured me he'll cut off what I want and if I need more taken off after I go home & play with it, he'd be happy to do it on Tuesday when I come back for the color. You know what, I believe him. I think he won't be one bit upset or annoyed with me if I want more taken off. He'll be happy to help a gal get the look she wants so she feels her best! My hair cut & style was great, btw! Twisted Salon & it's staff seem to want you to be happy when you leave. It's so hard to find reasonably priced salons that deliver above & beyond your expectations. Twisted delivers on all fronts!

I was just at Top Ten Nails in Woodstock Virginia. Eddy and Mary own this business. I've gone for…read moreover 12 years on a regular basis to see Mary to keep my Acrylic nails done. I've never had any problems but have seen Eddy treat customers poorly. I had one nail pop off one and a half weeks after they were done. I called and they were busy. I noticed today that I had green underneath one of my other nails. So this was 2.5 weeks after getting them done. I had one pop off, one fell off at the salon today and I had the green nail bed on the third nail. No one wanted to accept responsibility and Eddy started yelling at me when I said I was upset with what was happening. Mary said it was time for me to come for a fill in and Eddy said I had a bruise on my nail. It was no bruise. It was where the acrylic nail had lifted up and water got in causing my nail to turn green. He stood up and was telling me it was my fault and if I didn't like it, I could leave. I talked with Mary again while I was seated in front of her. I explained I had never had these problems. She said it was because of my grandchildren that I take care of. I told her it wasn't because of them. But she insisted. I told her I stay home every day and I don't soak my nails in water so something was wrong. Eddy started yelling again and came over and told me to get out of his place and I could never come back. This kept going on with him yelling while his wife Mary kept telling me it's ok, she will take care of it. Eddy had me crying hysterically and my hands shaking. I said I was going to call and he said "go ahead call, I don't care, this is my business. I was going to call my husband. I finally texted my husband and told him to come and help me. He came and Eddy lied and said I yelled at Mary. When my husband asked Mary about it she said I didn't. Mary kept apologizing for Eddy and he never once apologized. He didn't feel like he did anything wrong. I will never return there again even though Mary said for me just to talk with her next time and don't talk to him. It's a shame because Mary did a great job for many years and her husband destroyed a place that I enjoyed going to on a regular basis. Please don't go. Eddy was so disrespectful, he doesn't deserve that business. My husband took me home and I have been crying and shaking ever since. I have never ever been talked to in such a manner. I need this to be posted on every review site available.
