They didn't cease to exist. I asked the front desk and they told me there's no guarantee of hair removal like their website and signage suggests, rather that there's hair reduction. I went through a traumatic experience shaving for them before every session (used to blood baths when shaving because I get severe hand spasms and cut myself instead). I really wish I had known this prior to booking but they are savvy saleswomen and want your $$$$. I feel misled and taken advantage of. If you or someone you know are considering this service, I would strongly recommend not using laser until the science has actually been perfected and proven to REMOVE hair instead of "reduce" hair. During a full body laser hair removal session on 4/27/25, someone knocked and immediately opened the door a without waiting for a response. I was completely exposed on the treatment table. It was shocking, humiliating, and a serious violation of privacy. I was told another nurse was trying to locate a laser machine. What was she gonna do, rollout the machine in the middle of my service if it was actually in fact in the room? That could've waited until my service was over!!! I reported the incident to Ashley, the manager, who said it would be investigated. In the interim, she offered me a free Hydrafacial session and said it would be placed on my profile in my app, which never happened! Weeks passed with no update. I followed up several times, only to be told that statements were taken from the employees involved in the incident, but still no resolution. Trying to reach Ashley directly became nearly impossible. Out of frustration, I contacted the Woodbury location (Ashley manages both locations) and the experience got worse. The first receptionist put me on hold for 7 minutes. When another receptionist, Paige, picked up, she was rude and dismissive. She even argued with me over how long I had been on hold, saying it was only 6 minutes not 7, and then said "I'm going to placed you on another brief hold", which turned into another 45 minutes. The level of unprofessionalism was unbelievable. Ashley never came to the phone or even try to make an attempt to contact me. I've called corporate 3 times now with no resolution. I still have prepaid sessions remaining, money I've already spent ( for laser hair removal and laser tattoo removal ) but I no longer feel comfortable or safe returning to either the Garden City or Woodbury locations. Ashley's handling of the situation has been completely unacceptable. What makes this even more disappointing is that I've spent close to $10,000 at LaserAway and referred friends and family because I used to trust this company. As a combat veteran whom recently came home, I wanted to do something nice and rewarding for myself and instead, I've been met with disrespect and negligence. They don't even offer a military discount or show any regard for clients who have served their country. In addition, businesses have capabilities to delete reviews or control profiles when leaving reviews. I had to edit a previous positive review I left months ago in order to leave this one!!!! UPDATED REVIEW (9/23/11)…read more Hello again all... I am back to report on my experience! So far, I have had four laser hair removal treatments, and they have all been as wonderful as the first. As a matter of fact after my first treatment, I extended my bikini line area to a half Brazilian and have been doing that ever since. I am already considering another additional area on the back of my neck. I have always been too self conscious to wear my hair in a ponytail because I have such a bad hairline on the back of my neck. Anyway, as for the Brazilian area, I've had NOT ONE ingrown hair since I began these treatments months ago!!!!!! I've had almost no regrowth, besides a few (really- like 8) strands of hair in random places down there- but that is normal since your hair grows in cycles. Those hairs were dormant until now, but they will get the 'zap' during my next treatment. I've also allowed a little extra time pass between appointments just to make sure there was no regrowth and there wasn't. This treatment truly works. My only suggestion is to avoid going for laser treatment within the few days before your period. Apparently your body is MUCH more sensitive then, and it may not be as comfortable. It wasn't the worst, but it was better all the other times. This was the absolute BEST decision of my life and worth every last cent. I do not have to shave anymore...ever!! My "lower-lady area" requires no maintenance now. Ladies... did you hear that?!?! Go to New York Laser and sit down with Ofra.
