Our favorite is the New Mexico Style Burger with regular fries and a Pepsi. Today we enjoyed the addition of a delightfully yummy chocolate oat milk shake. Yum, Yum, Yummy-Yummm yum!! Jess was our server today and she made us our first (very delicious) oat milk shake. Hip hip hooray! The dine in vibe rocks and the vintage couch hangout in the back by the original old rock wall lends a charm that is sadly not found in many cool places anymore. The light fixtures and the deco job comes together nicely blending a "now"-vibe with the charm and mellow-yellow-sheik with a mid-modern retro revival twist. The gift shop in the lobby area is really cool too! Go there and eat food and drinks and buy stuff! Go vegan! Yay, Lucky Goise! 5 stars!

Tried Duke's City BBQ while passing through Albuquerque and came away feeling a bit mixed. The food…read morewas prepared well and the portions were fair, but overall it just lacked the flavor I was hoping for from a BBQ spot. The meat was tender enough, but the seasoning and smoke profile seemed pretty mild, leaving the dishes tasting a little flat. The service was friendly and the restaurant was clean, which made for a pleasant visit. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with the meal, but nothing really stood out either. I found myself reaching for sauce to add some of the flavor I felt was missing. Overall, it was an average BBQ experience. If you're in the area, it may be worth trying for yourself since tastes vary, but for me it didn't quite live up to the bold flavors I typically look for in good barbecue.

***CASH ONLY*** ****HOLE IN THE WALL***…read more Who on Yelp doesn't love a good "cash only/hole in the wall" restaurant? Had high hopes for this place and was disappointed. Ordered the "Horchata"sweet rice drink. It had too much sugar and not enough cinnamon. Ordered tacos al pastor and they really could have used some pieces of pineapple in them. Tacos carne asada was the better option. However they only come with a single tortilla and easily fall apart. I realize we are in NEW MEXICO and they are big on their red and green chilies but HABANERO sauce would have been perfect. Speaking of SALSA, be sure to bring your SCISSORS when you come here!!! The salsa comes in these little "dime bags" and you have to bite off a corner with your teeth to get the salsa out! Order st the window, they give you a ticket with a number, and plan on WAITING 20 minutes for your food. Will keep searching for q better taco spot!

This was a straight up delicious smashburger. So good, that it was easy to overlook the calamity…read morethat acquiring it turned out to be. So I got into Albuquerque early, and wanted lunch even though it was a little before 11am (having come from the east cost). This place inside the 505 food hall was recommended to me by Mia, the local Albuquerque community manager. I got there about 10:55, they open at 11, and knew what I wanted to eat about two minutes prior to that. I approached the counter... and well... was told not to for two more minutes, pretty curtly. OK fine, i can respect that, and the fact your day must not be off to a good start. So I come back at 11:01 and place my order for the El Burqueno burger with fries. That's a double smash cheeseburger with fried onions, green chiles, and a garlic ailoi on a grilled buttered bun. I grab a seat nearby to wait, and can see a commotion forming around the kitchen. Apparently, their frier would not turn on, so basically fries were taken to another restaurant in the food hall, brought back, and served to me. Which made things take a little longer, but was more a point of craziness for the staff than me. Neither the fries, or the burger suffered at all. In fact, the burger was one of the most on-point smashburgers I have had in recent memory. A wonderful brown crust on both smashed patties, and skirted with lots of melty cheese. The bun definitely had a rich buttery flavor, and it all came together nicely. So, mild curtness and foibles aside, this was a great stop, and I would recommend it to others seeking a smashburger adorned with chiles.
